We are to receive the Word of GOD by the Spirit, so I strongly urge you to pray before you receive the Devotional. Let Christ take the lead in your Spiritual Development.

According to my mornings, today is the last day, here on the 7th of September, 2025; when the "Global Week of 24/7 Prayer" concludes officially. But should it end at all, friends?

In short, I gave a quick overview of the verse simply looking how most focus on the receiving of power, rather than being sent by such power to testify for Jesus Christ unto all the ends of the earth.

2. Scripture Text

Isaiah 58:1-14 KJV

[1] Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. [2] Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God. [3] Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours. [4] Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. [5] Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD? [6]  Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? [7] Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? [8] Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward. [9] Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; [10] and if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day: [11] and the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. [12] And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. [13] If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: [14] then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

3. Devotional Reflection

How does this line up with Isaiah 58 here this morning? What type of fasting and keeping the Sabbath Holy pleases the LORD? When will He hear us and go out with us?

It is a flawed perspective to come unto the LORD in self interest, to "seek Him" only when we stand to benefit from the relationship. And it is exactly in that observation that my heart comes bowed before the LORD.

"They know not what they do."

It is really not about what GOD, or even the servants of GOD can do for you, the instruction has always been to be kind to one another and love one another, but mankind measures that in a "tit-for-tat" kind of way, seeking to gain for self, at least, an equal part, but preferably stand in profit. That is man's basic nature, and the world educated the young in how to be most beneficial in that. But, that is not GOD'S Way, and Isaiah 58 makes that abundantly clear.

I weep for mankind. I have come to understand the "woes" of the servants of GOD, even why they brought the warnings to their people, that GOD revealed to them. Like roosters and hens on the farm yard, man walks seeking food and pleasure, scrubbing open the brush, for more food, or to make a nest to lay some eggs, while the roosters walk on in pride, ruling the roost. Only, they see when the farmer comes and sprays the food upon the earth, and man would rather glory in his collection of it, than give honour to the One who provides. A troublesome chicken might just show up on the supper table, if it is unproductive or a trouble maker.

I lament for mankind. For even in my words, as they have done with the Word of GOD, they only pick out that which is pleasing to them, and neglect that which makes things work in peace. Everyone wants to sit on the couch and be served. Even hard labour is taken for the joy of self enrichment, but that is not the Way of GOD. GOD even let it rain over the wicked.

I pray for unity, and even as I pray, I see self-willed people walking in ways of division, separation and hate. The doctrine of the enemy has found a deep soul for the lies he has sown. So, I weep, as I see and hear; how the Word and instruction from the LORD has become another topic of debate in the prideful ways of mankind. I cry for it, knowing there is no room for that in the Kingdom of GOD.

Speaking, it goes unheard; writing, it goes unread... And then, when it is heard or read, more debates come from the opinions of mankind. I weep, I cry, for man walks towards judgment frowardly. In warning, man steps in those dangers, just to prove he can. I weep.

The power hungry shall never know the power of the Holy Spirit, for that power moves in Charitable Ways. True strength is what keeps the powerful humble. In the Spirit, the poor become rich and the oppressed know peace.

4. Verse of the Day

Quick One:

This morning as I was going through the image verses for today, I noticed how most of the images focused on the "power" segment of this verse, and how the purpose was neglected.

Is the Bible simply like a motivational book? Or is it "Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth?"

5. Closing Paragraph

When, oh man, will you be ready to hear the LORD for His purpose, not yours?
