1. Opening
You know, in many ways our lives are like this matter with the "Verse of the Day" today. Yes, there are very significant words prayed here. And while this one verse can give the believer direction, there is a very large context from which this is pulled out of today that might be missed, if we only read one verse.
There are a few ways in which you can partake in the Daily Devotional:
We are to receive the Word of GOD by the Spirit, so I strongly urge you to pray before you receive the Devotional. Let Christ take the lead in your Spiritual Development.

3. Devotional Reflection
Let me put it like this: If you really know the Word of GOD well, this verse lands in knowledge, but without more detail, it will just be found as is for what it says. Now, I have told you it is part of a prayer, but who says these words? It is from the Book of Exodus, so it must be Moses, right? It must be somewhere in the wilderness, during the journey to the promised land, but there are still two books before they reach Jordan. Without more information it is like dropping a blind folded person off in a city he has never known, in a foreign country and saying, "Go home."
To get context for these words, you will at least have to read Exodus 32 and 33. I can give you this hint, Exodus 32 is about the golden calf. And now, immediately, you should know that they are at the mountain of GOD. Moses, at this point, had taken the tent of meeting outside the camp, and as He spoke to the LORD, the pillar of smoke would be at the entrance to the tent, and the people would stand at their tents and witness it. When Moses left the tent, Joshua, the son of Nun, would remain behind. This is the moment between the Golden Calf incident and when Moses sees the Glory of the LORD pass by overhead. It is precisely where the LORD instructs Moses to "go up" to the promised land.
It is just a little after this that we actually learn something about the LORD that is profound, if understood.
Exodus 33:19-20 KJV
[19] And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. [20] And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

It will be even more helpful if you could read Exodus 34 as well. But, for today, we are looking at this verse and how it may apply to our lives today. We are looking at the instruction to "go up" or as it will be more fitting today, "go ahead." Maybe it would mean even more if I add to that, what we have in the New Testament, to say, "endure unto the end," with more specific direction by saying, "follow our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the Way."
If I add a Biblical Truth, "through much trials and tribulations do we enter into the Kingdom of Heaven," many would maybe be unwilling to proceed, and in that moment, these words of Moses might be uttered too.
So, in the New Covenant, Christ Jesus, prays to His and our Father in Heaven to send His Spirit to us for comfort. So, we have a tabernacle of meeting within, to commune with GOD on our journey here in the world. Once more, this week, the prayer of Jesus Christ in John 17 comes to the foreground, for a unity that can only come by the Holy Spirit of GOD. The presence of GOD "goes with us" unto the moment of redemption and restoration, the perfection that we are promised in Jesus Christ.
You see, friends, in the New Testament we have the instruction to endure unto the end, in the Old Testament, Israel had the instruction to get themselves up to the promised land of Canaan. Israel was given a territory on Earth, and we are given a Heavenly destination. But, in both cases, we cannot make that journey to the destination without the presence of GOD. The promised land was a long-walk from where Israel was, and the destination was known, but there were hostile nations to overcome. We are heading to a destination we have never seen, our promised land is on the other side of this life. What does it really help to ask directions from someone that has not been to the destination yet? I am nothing more than a boundary marker on the road, a warning that indicates where you are leaving the way. And even in that effort am I clueless without the Holy Spirit of GOD, His Holy Presence with me.
This morning, the LORD said to me, "just this one verse." That was the direction for me, which was as good as saying, "head straight ahead." You see, because I have been on this journey for a while now, I know it means that it is just the One verse that was to be the Head Scripture for today's note. But, if you don't understand, you might build your whole life up on just one road sign in the Way, like "honour the Sabbath to keep it Holy," and you miss everything else in the Word of GOD. This life is a journey with many such milestones (markers,) which systematically guides us through the Word of GOD in order to meet the end destination. Understand?
Today's lesson is that we cannot do it without GOD. If His Presence does not "go up" with us, we will get lost and may be defeated on the road ahead. And we know this, because it went wrong with us, when we did not consider the LORD.
So, while I do urge you to get more relevance from the Word of GOD for today's Verse of the Day, I am not going to walk you through it. If I carry you everywhere, how will you learn to Walk with the LORD, and you might start looking at me like some man that must walk ahead of you. That Man is Jesus Christ, not me. The Way I must go, might not be yours, because our location and servitude might not be the same. But, Jesus knows the Way for you. The Word of GOD will get you there. It requires the Presence of GOD, not me.
John 14:6-7 KJV
[6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. [7] If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

The question that remains is this: Do you know the Way? Do you truly know the Way? Because without Jesus Christ, you cannot get to the end destination.
