Luke 10:1-24 KJV

[1] After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. [2] Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. [3] Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. [4] Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. [5] And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. [6] And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again. [7] And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. [8] And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: [9] and heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. [10] But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, [11] Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. [12] But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city. [13] Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. [14] But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you. [15] And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell. [16] He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.  [17] And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. [18] And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. [19] Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. [20] Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.  [21] In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. [22] All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. [23] And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: [24] for I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Note for 20250424

I have opted this morning to give you the better part of this sending forth of the 70 disciples, but also of their return, and the profit of the result, in which they could take joy. Not so favorable is it for those cities where Christ performed all these miracles and He compares it to the distraction in the past, that of Sodom and then also looking forward, for the prophecies against Tyre and Sidon. You have heard these words with me, what will you take with you?

What is it to be sent? What is the purpose of being sent, but to drive our unclean spirits and heal those who are unwell if they will receive us. Have you noticed how Christ said not to greet any on the way, to go into the house that will receive you, and there to eat whatsoever they shall set before you, because the labourer is due his wage.

We sometimes consider that we should be beggars, when in truth, all that we need will be provided. More so, a bit of an increase of knowledge is given here, that whosoever receives us, receives Christ Jesus; and whosoever receives Christ, receives Him who sent Christ, which our Loving Father in Heaven. And what is the profit to us? That our Names be written up in Heaven.

Are we then sent like the twelve or like the seventy? Take a moment to think about it if you can. How are we sent? How where both the 12 and the 70 sent, what is common between the two instructions. I tell you this, that it is that Christ sent with instruction. Each group sent guided by the Word of GOD, Jesus Christ. So too can we look at how Paul was sent, even by the appearance of the Angel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ appearing to him on the road to Damascus, where his intent was to take captive the believers and instead, he became a comfort to them, by what Christ instructed him to do, to minister unto the gentiles. Yes, it is written very specifically so you too may know who the Angel of someone is, just as it was considered that it was Peter's angel standing at the gate, when an Angel freed him of his chains in prison. Now, I do not include all the scripture chapters and verses today, but you are to try the spirits if they be of GOD. Search it out.

On the day of hearing this, even in the reading if it; know that many are still sent, day by day. They are sent as Christ sent these, by instruction of the Lord Himself. But, are they heard? Look at the joy of the Lord in the text today, that GOD revealed these things to common folk. They did not have a scholarship, they were nit trained in some university. No! Their qualification is that they were chosen and sent, then obeyed the Word of the Lord. How many then are sent of themselves, maybe even because they would not hear the Lord, but rather did what they themselves preferred? This is a matter between man and God, who am I to judge what GOD has instructed a man to do? After all, GOD sent Hosea to marry a prostitute and Jeremiah to bury his underwear by the river Euphrates. Shall we then ignore how GOD sent a deceiving spirit to King Ahab, to draw him into war, or permitted Satan to go against Job? How many times have we given glory to some devil, for a thing that may have come from GOD?

Do you remember how Samuel was called in the middle of the night, first thinking that it was Eli calling? While Eli was condemned by the matter of his sons, still he had the good sense to instruct Samuel to say, "Speak LORD, your servant listens." How soon may we then mistake a call in the night as some reverberation of a dream, or the call of some stranger at night? Maybe, indeed, the calling of the LORD is as a calling of a stranger, because the LORD is still a stranger to them, but am I the judge of men? Is the calling of the LORD the same to all? Is it not the LORD that brought Nebuchadnezzar against Jerusalem? And he was a heathen. What of Pharaoh's heart, was it not GOD that hardened his heart for the purposes of GOD? How do we then pray, "Thy will be done?" Do we place limitations on what GOD may do? GOD permitted the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple, more than one time; and yet, He spared the Ninevites. The difference was, Nineveh repented, and Israel didn't. As the LORD has sent His Angel to deliver Israel many times, He also sent His Angel to destroy. All depends on who was on the receiving end. Remember how Jonah waited to see the destruction of Nineveh that didn't come at that time?

Now, what is written about our time? How does the world fare today in matters of righteousness? May the LORD send His Angels soon? Shall He give rise to another destroyer to come against the sons of mankind? Shall He send fires and floods? And still the Words deep into the Book of Revelation reverberate in my core, "and they repented not..."

Who shall go, if not sent? Who is sent but him that hears? Are you sent this day, or has one been sent to you? I am sent, but so too do I often receive from another that was sent to me. As I was sent, so I go, even writing here to you. Whom the LORD has sent, He has ordained, whether it be for a salvation or a rebuke. The LORD corrects those He lives, but permits the wicked to walk on in their wickedness unto death. Are you sent, or are you to receive one knocking at the door? Are you to receive him whom GOD has sent? His Sheep knows His voice, and they will not follow another. Is that not written too? Whether we are sent or called to receive another, know that the LORD determines that. As He sent one by one way, and to return another way without sojourning, so He sent these to enter into the house that would receive them.

How will you know, if you can't hear? To him who has an ear to hear, let him hear. Do you have an ear to hear, then hear! It is the LORD that sends. He sends as He pleases, for His own purpose. What is left to man is to receive and hear. To obey the LORD your God in His instruction, and that comes by way of the Spirit of the Most High GOD. So have many chosen a career, without the consultation of GOD. They have taken wives and had children, without the consultation of GOD. They did as they pleased, and said it was of GOD. Remember how it is written, what GOD has put together, let no man separate? Did GOD bring it together or the lusts of the flesh? Do you speak by instruction of the LORD, or because you are unable to hear? On both counts let me give you Romans 8:1 and 28 for a comfort by Paul.

Romans 8:1, 28 KJV

[1]  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

[28] And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

https://bible.com/bible/1/rom.8.1-28.KJV

May all of that, and that between these verses bring you Comfort in this time. But, note specifically to whom it applies, and see then, to whom it does not. Is there condemnation for those that are not in Christ and walk after the flesh? Does all work together for good for all?

For too long, man has received the Words of devils. Deceived and misguided in ways of destruction for they would not hear of GOD, so another was sent to them. Soothsayers, those who speak words as sweet as honey and had as a result consumption of the things of this world spoken for the destruction of the wicked.

2 Thessalonians 2:8-12 KJV

[8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: [9] even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, [10] and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. [11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: [12] that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

https://bible.com/bible/1/2th.2.8-12.KJV

The question for each of us today is this: can we receive the Truth from GOD, or do we have pleasures in unrighteousness? Let him who has an ear to hear hear what the Spirit of GOD is saying. And by that, I truly do not mean that you should hear me, but as in all things...

1 John 4:1-4 KJV

[1] Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. [2] Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: [3] and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. [4] Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Verse of The Day

From the YouVersion Bible App (Expanded from verse 7)

1 Corinthians 3:6-9 KJV

[6] I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. [7] So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. [8] Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. [9] For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
