1 Peter 3:1-22 KJV
[1] Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; [2] while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. [3] Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; [4] but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. [5] For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: [6] even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. [7] Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. [8] Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: [9] not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. [10] For He that will love life, And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips that they speak no guile: [11] Let him eschew evil, and do good; Let him seek peace, and ensue it. [12] For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, And his ears are open unto their prayers: But the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. [13] And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? [14] But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; [15] but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: [16] having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. [17] For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. [18] For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: [19] by which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; [20] which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. [21] The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: [22] who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

Note for 20250207
Today, there is some direction firstly for both the wife and the husband. Friends, when we read from the Word of GOD, there are often times that we read that which is hard to hear. This is especially so, if we are found in error, by the Word we read. Now, do we flip past the pages? Or, do we repent of our behaviour? Do we seek some other verses that will support our cause, or do we work on the log that we have found in our own eye, by the Word of GOD? We repent, right? We work on ourselves for the sake of purification, don't we?
Since I am a man, I look at that which applies to the husband, and I think Peter is quite clear in his message, and I do not want my prayers to be hindered. But, as a believer, I am also part of the church, the bride of Jesus Christ. And if I am then a bride, then a wife and the weaker vessel, so shall I submit unto Jesus Christ, and call Him My Lord. While I may argue that the wife is often not weaker than the husband here on earth, I know exactly where I stand when I look at Jesus Christ. For, without Him, I am nothing and even my words become babbling. No, I want to be one with Him, and here on earth I can by the Holy Spirit. I am reminded that I have in times past, and sometimes still, regrettably, acted dishonourably. And Jesus forgave me, He covered my sin by His love for me. I am hidden in Him, and He receives me, when I repent. So do I wish to bring honor to Him, that He is the One that saved me. I was lost, and I was found by Him. He removed me from my shame. He made me honest and caring. When I feel weak, when I need strength, I go to Him. Sadly, I still struggle at times to submit, especially when I feel strongly about something in myself. But, more and more I have learned that I can Trust in His guidance. I can also trust in the Lord my GOD. I was brought into the House of GOD by adoption, by the Love of GOD and His Son, Jesus Christ. Having this experience, of how much patience Jesus has with me, it is now in my heart, to have patience with others. Sadly, I still struggle, far more than what I wish to admit. But, that is the truth still at this moment, and saying anything else would be a lie.
As a husband then, I will remember my walk with Jesus Christ. But, don't you know that as I fail before Christ still, I also fail before my wife still. Once again, it is the inconvenient truth and how I hope that this report may be perfect at some point. Maybe I will have success in that today with the help of the Lord. Especially so, that the matter has been brought into focus by the Word of GOD again. May this remain with me, that I will not forget to do that which is right and bring shame upon the Name of Jesus Christ. May the LORD forgive us by His Mercy and Grace.
How are we then to look at one another, friends, when we still struggle with the basics? But, the end of this life here waits for no man, it is always on approach, it can come at any time. We trust that the Lord will bless and keep us each day, and extend more unto us until we get it right. Is there nothing to do today then? No requirement on us to live a better day than what we have in times past? Do we strive for righteousness from within? Or, are we still seeking every occasion to remain in sin? Because I failed yesterday, I do not want to fail today. Because I am forgiven, I do not want to err again. It is in my weakness that I lean harder on that of GOD in me, because I know that in carnality I soon fail. So, I look to the Word of GOD to be a lamp unto my feet, for without it, I stumble as a blind man at mid-day. I place my Hope on my betrothed, our Groom to come, the Lord Jesus Christ. Here is my comfort, that I am hidden in Christ, still will I bring every effort, to walk in righteousness each day.
I know, we have not even touched on half of the text here, but this is what there is for today.
Selah, Shalom

Verse of The Day
From the YouVersion Bible App
Isaiah 26:2-5 KJV
[2] Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. [3] Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. [4] Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: [5] for he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.
