Mark 10:1-16 KJV

[1] And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judæa by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again. [2] And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him. [3] And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you? [4] And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away. [5] And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. [6] But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. [7] For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; [8] and they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. [9] What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. [10] And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter. [11] And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. [12] And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery. [13] And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. [14] But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. [15] Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. [16] And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

Note for 20250122

It has become needful to explain again what the mission is that we are fulfilling by our reading here at this time. We are reading through the Gospels of Jesus Christ in response to what we have read in the Book of Revelation. Especially in Revelation 21, which speaks on the New Heavens and the New Earth, with the New Jerusalem that comes down from Heaven. The essential consideration is in this, what does GOD expect of us that we may enter into that city then. Let's look at a brief extract from there again, but it is best if you can read all of Revelation 21 at least to be refreshed.

Revelation 21:7-8 KJV

[7] He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. [8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

What is it to overcome? What is it; to receive the Kingdom of GOD as a little child? Look at the list out of Revelation 21 which has man go to the lake of fire. That is mostly things that adults make themselves guilty of. What must then be overcome? That's right! We must find our innocence again and overcome these things that GOD hates. Look at the list, each is identified by either hate and/or rebellion at heart. Even some form of perversion and corruption from that which GOD has made at first. What is it then to be a son of GOD, but being a child at heart, before corruption sets in. Have you not read in Genesis that man at first did not even know that they were naked? And in their nakedness they could walk with GOD in the garden, the Paradise of GOD. Is nakedness then evil, or man's perversions? Still, because of perversion, man's nakedness had to be hidden. Because of the lust of the flesh, what GOD has made had to be hidden, clothed in skins.

The question of divorce is from this corrupted state. The man and woman that GOD made is judged by mankind as not sufficient. Today, man adds or removes from that which was given, modifying themselves to what pleases man, rather than that which pleases GOD. Have you noticed, a child is happy with who they are, until someone teases them, or points out something that makes them unique.

GOD gave what is good in His sight, but then man ads by his opinion and declares that which GOD made as falling short of their expectation. Then we learn that our nose is too long, or our ears stand out too far; we are too tall, too short, too skinny or too fat. And that is just on outward appearance still. When man and woman join to one another, based on layers that are just skin deep, when the inner person is eventually met, they find fault in that, based on their own desires and expectations. They may hang around until the point when they can no longer live in peace with one another. That is how it is at this time. Mankind marries based on that which is desired by the flesh, is that not lust, rather than love? Yes, maybe love on the world's definition, that speaks once more to desire. I speak not on this without experience of the error I found in myself. Man wants to be served, rather than to serve another. And when two people reach the point where neither of their needs are being met, what is the godless result?

Jesus explains it best here why Moses permitted a letter of divorce. Even here we can learn from children, who make friends with all kinds while they still stand in innocence. The Word explains that the tongue is like a sword, and with age, that sword becomes sharper and sharper still, cutting those around asunder. Divorce is an error in heart, when it becomes too hard.

Friends,I write not on this without personal experience on this matter. I myself have been guilty of it. So much pain. So much heartache. And yet, would I have come to the knowledge of truth without tasting its poison? As hard headed as I was, I sincerely do not think that I would have.

Now we stand on the day of preparation. We have learned from our lives what "works" and what doesn't. Experience has brought us to a state of preparedness, as the night approaches. What then must be overcome? Is it not the hardness of man's heart? Let us then have childlike hearts.

Selah, Shalom.

Verse of The Day

From the YouVersion Bible App for 20250124 (Expanded from verse 33)

Mark 13:32-37 KJV

[32]  But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. [33] Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. [34] For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. [35] Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: [36] lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. [37] And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Genesis 3:14-15 KJV

[14] And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: [15] and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
