The Audio Version of today’s note
Mark 1:38-45 KJV
[38] And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. [39] And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils. [40] And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. [41] And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. [42] And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed. [43] And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away; [44] and saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. [45] But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

Note for 20250105
Personally, I am often somewhat hesitant about these titles I receive for the notes. But that is me, for the mind is so often found in counter action to the Spirit. But it is what I receive, and I trust that more than my own thinking. My mind ponders on how it may be received, while it is further also perfectly logical that in assumption I can make a huge error.
In the scripture the action of Jesus finding compassion on this leaper, and making him clean, has a reaction that increases the fame of Jesus in that area. Do you think that Jesus didn't know that the leaper would go out against the instruction that He gave him? What we have from the reading is what Mark testifies of what happened. Can we assume anything from this? Against that we must guard too, even about what we like to believe in a certain matter. The net result of the fame of Christ spreading was a reaction, that Christ could not enter into the cities anymore, but had to remain in the wilderness, and even there He was found by them. What we see in this scripture, is that Christ instructed the leaper one way, and he went in a different direction. Instead of keeping the matter quiet, he published it widely. And from the text, we do not know if this leaper ever went through the cleansing ceremony at the priests, according to the law of Moses, as you can find in the book of Leviticus.
What can we learn about ourselves in this scripture? How can we reflect on it? It appears that mankind has a way of doing as we think, rather than obeying instruction. Do you understand why I mentioned my consideration regarding the Daily headings for these notes now?
We may receive instruction to go somewhere, or to go and meet with someone, or do something for another; and give over to our own considerations and feelings in the matter, but the result is disobedience.
Friends, what is faith and what is obedience? Will mankind remain counter action forever? These leaper actions placed restrictions on the movement of Him that saved him. Those who may have heard Christ in the city, now had to walk out into the wilderness to hear the Lord Jesus Christ. One man's action affected many others. Action and reaction, when our actions bring something in that may or may not have been intended, when the instruction was given in the first place. Regardless, this leaper did not obey the instruction of Jesus Christ. That is what we read here.
What instructions have come our way? What did Christ say in His ministry, which we do not obey? How many others be affected by our disobedience? How about the instruction that we should love one another as ourselves; if we obeyed that, may we have lived in peace with one another? What about love thine enemy? What about, love one another even as Christ has loved us?
Just recently I was instructed to take a day of rest each week, and as you may have noticed, there was no note on Saturday. If we are disobedient in those things that we judge as not important, like what a title for a note must be; how can we be trusted with the greater works, like bringing the Word of GOD to others? If the Lord says, "cast out your net on the right side," will we be rewarded by what we deemed impossible?
Here we read from the Word of GOD, what is our reaction to the Word? Or is it a reading, for information only? Action: GOD preserved the written Word for us. Reaction: Do we read or not? Action: We read. Reaction: Do we obey or not? Do we believe? Do we receive? Do we change within? What is your personal response to the Word of GOD, or is it just nice to hear? The Lord did not die upon the cross for the entertainment of mankind, but for the salvation of their soul. To undo what the enemy has done; to undo his works. The intended reaction is that we change from within, not? What will it take to bring that change in you?
There is one more instruction that needs attention today, that we bring the Gospel to every creature. And here is the reality, a failure to spread the Gospel of Salvation and eternal life in Christ Jesus, speaks of a lack of love for your neighbour. Withholding the Gospel is as good as withholding life itself, which can be compared to murder. There are things that we as men judge as insignificant, but that have major reactions that go unseen.
Action: Christ died on the cross for the sin of mankind.
What is our reaction? At least this leaper spread to all, what Christ did for him. That is his testimony of Jesus Christ, and that testimony brought fame to Christ. Our lives are to be a testimony of Jesus Christ.
Selah, Shalom
Verse of The Day
From the YouVersion Bible App (Expanded from verse 47)
Luke 7:44-48 KJV
[44] And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. [45] Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. [46] My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. [47] Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. [48] And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
