1 John 2:1-29 KJV
[1] My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: [2] and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world. [3] And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. [4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. [5] But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. [6] He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. [7] Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. [8] Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. [9] He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. [10] He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. [11] But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. [12] I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. [13] I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. [14] I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. [15] Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. [16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. [17] And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. [18] Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. [19] They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. [20] But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. [21] I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. [22] Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. [23] Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. [24] Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. [25] And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. [26] These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. [27] But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. [28] And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. [29] If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

What Abides in You?
When we read from 1 John here, we read of faith in action. It comes down to what abides in us, whether it be the Truth or the lies of this world. Note how this world makes it's bold statements against the Word of GOD, they always give some other explanation than that we have heard from GOD. John defines here what the spirit of anti-Christ is, and more alarming, how even then, he wrote that it is the "last time." He explains that the Light has come into the world. Truly, people now choose to live in light or darkness, for the Light in Christ is available to us who believe in Christ. By our choices, how we live in word and deed, determines whether we are of darkness or light. By their fruit shall you know them. If you love Jesus Christ, then will you obey His commandments and love one another.
1 John 2:27 KJV
[27] But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Man is led by what is in him, do you understand? If the flesh and the lusts of it rules in you, then that is what you love. We submit to what we love; if Light, then light; if it be darkness, then darkness.
And now for the hard words: If we claim that the light is in us, but we show the fruit of the world, then have we become liars and the Truth is not in us. If we stand for ourselves at the cost of another, then do we not obey Christ. The Spirit within each one will either be for Christ or anti-Christ. To do wickedness, is to refuse the instruction of the Word of GOD, which is Christ.
However there is this hope for those who believe but still experience weakness and it comes from verse 1 and 2 in this chapter: "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."
The dividing line is thus in love and hate. Now, what is this love that is spoken of, even as we remember that those that trespass against us have forgiveness in Christ too. For that, it is best to consult the Word of GOD, as we find it written for us by Paul in 1 Corinthians 13, inspired by the Holy Spirit that testifies the Truth of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 13:1-13 KJV
[1] Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. [2] And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. [3] And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. [4] Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, [5] doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; [6] rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; [7] beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. [8] Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. [9] For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. [10] But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. [11] When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. [12] For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. [13] And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Man has erroneously coupled this scripture up as the kind of love that must be between a man and a woman, but the text clearly identifies that it is the love that must be in us. As Christ died for us, He died for the sin of this world. Which means, that when we view, outwardly, mankind, that love of Christ, that suffered for the sin of mankind, must remain in us. If it is then in us, why would we stand for condemnation when our Lord suffered for the forgiveness of the sin of mankind? Our struggle is not against flesh and blood. And darkness is overthrown by the Light of the Love of GOD. When we repay evil for evil, then the Light is not in us, but have we become part of that darkness.
Here, in the very last time of the era of man on earth, we must work to bring the perfection of Christ in us. So is the truth revealed, that the wicked will choose darkness for themselves, condemning themselves. We do not have to bring accusations or judgments, for those that stand in the spirit of anti-Christ condemns themselves by their refusal of Christ and the rebellion and hate in their hearts.
What love (or charity) does, is to forgive and to hope for all things good and righteous. To reach into the fire and draw out from it, those that can come to repentance. For the truly wicked cannot repent. Saved, means that you have been saved from something. That something is that which would have taken you to refuse the gift of Christ that brings life to the dead. So we preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so those who can hear the voice of the Lord will hear it in a dark night, and come into the light, following the voice of the Good Shepherd which they know. If they do not know His voice they will not follow Him. Then they will refuse and hate. We speak the Words of Life, only those who know the Word can follow it. A stranger cannot comprehend the love of Christ, for he knows only a love of self. So, as we speak the Word of Truth, we trust in the Word of GOD, that the Word will draw unto Himself all that the Father has given Him. But if we do not speak, then, the Word of GOD is not heard, how then shall they follow what they haven't heard?
So, in love, brothers and sisters in Christ, testify for Jesus Christ in Word and Deed, showing the love of Christ as a beacon in the Night. For Christ died for the sin of the world, His own will hear His voice. It is Christ in us, that the sheep of Christ will recognize. If we then walk with masks in this world to obscure who we are in Christ, then have we placed the light under a cover, and the Light of the Truth can not be witnessed and followed. That is not love, no! Love lets the Light of Christ shine in us to bring light to this dark world. For that cause do we live for righteousness, not for our Salvation because our Salvation came by Christ, even as we recognized His Light in someone who permitted His Light to shine through them.
Faith, hope and charity; which will we permit to work in us?
Shalom
