And We Know

The Audio Version of today’s note is advised.

Romans 8:14-39 KJV

[14] For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. [15] For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. [16] The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: [17] and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.  [18] For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. [19] For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. [20] For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, [21] because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. [22] For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. [23] And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. [24] For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? [25] But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. [26] Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. [27] And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. [28] And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. [29] For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. [30] Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.  [31] What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? [32] He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? [33] Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. [34] Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. [35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? [36] As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. [37] Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. [38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Note for 20241109

And we know how great Romans 8:28 is even standing on its own, but it doesn't stand alone. It stands in this context we have just read. Sons of GOD, that is who we are to God. Joint-heirs with Christ Jesus. Now we know that sin in the flesh is condemned by Christ. We mortify it, laying the sin down in the grave with Christ Jesus, by the Holy Spirit of GOD that reign in us.

So much more that I would tell you, but for the sake of misunderstanding it is better you hear it from GOD Himself. So are we called by the Word of GOD to be still and know that He is GOD. So we wait on Him patiently, knowing that we are not GOD. Who waits on himself?

Yes, we are promised glory in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, even perfection at His return. But we wait, because that perfection is not of ourselves, but comes by the Salvation of the Most High GOD. We wait on righteousness to form in us, for that too is of GOD. We serve Him Who is Higher than us. We resist the imperfection in us, and choose to be obedient to the Will of GOD. We stand in this unseen hope, that it will manifest in the appointed time, even in us. We are called. We are predestined. We will be sanctified, even now we are in that process. We are justified in Christ Jesus, awaiting His coming Glory, when we will be redeemed back to GOD. Saved from this state that we find ourselves in still, delivered up to GOD, perfected by the Lord Jesus Christ, when we will become the sons of GOD. And then, if we be the sons of GOD, joint-heirs with Jesus Christ, we shall rule and reign with Him, forever.

Now all we do, we can do in the hope of this coming glory. There is the Promise of GOD. But, it is not for the reward we should do it, we should do it in gratitude and for the sake of righteousness itself. The reward we await, for it is not here yet; but, here and now, we can stand for righteousness. Even such righteousness that is pleasing to the Lord our GOD. For a lack of words, to put it simply; we are not perfect yet. We are called to such perfection, but not there yet. So is it with all of us, until the Lord returns. Then, we have the opportunity now, to stand in compassion and mercy towards each other. We are all waiting on the Lord, with duties to perform, here and now. So we suffer the imperfect, we endure it all; as we stand united in the same-self hope of deliverance, salvation and redemption in Jesus Christ our Lord. Where we see a need, and we can meet it, so we do. To give to the poor is to make a loan to GOD, and yet, how can we loan to GOD, when we stand in His debt? So must we give in love, expecting nothing in return, for we cannot repay what Christ has done for us. When we eat, we bless what we have in the Name of our Father in Heaven and our Lord Jesus Christ. When we have none, we bring that hunger as a fast for GOD. His grace is sufficient for us, for even if we lay this body down to the dust, then will be redeemed back to GOD. There is thus now no more fear of death, for we shall live forever in the presence of GOD.

From the YouVersion Bible App (Expanded from verse 12)

Colossians 3:12-17 KJV

[12] Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; [13] forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. [14] And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. [15] And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. [16] Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. [17] And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
