Complete Renewal
The Audio Version of today’s note is advised
Romans 6:1-23 KJV
[1] What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? [2] God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? [3] Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? [4] Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. [5] For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: [6] knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. [7] For he that is dead is freed from sin. [8] Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: [9] knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. [10] For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. [11] Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. [12] Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. [13] Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. [14] For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. [15] What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. [16] Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? [17] But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. [18] Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. [19] I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. [20] For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. [21] What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. [22] But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. [23] For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Note for 20241106
There is so much here, and before we get to what we will look at today, first it must be acknowledged that this chapter exists and it cannot be argued away. For one, baptism is crucial in the process of deliverance, a declaration made to the congregations in heaven and on earth. But, that is not the focus of the note today, each will be led to baptism according to their faith. No, today we look at renewal, which is practically more challenging than the topic of baptism.
Renewal comes by standing in agreement with the Word of GOD. It is in every choice we make, from the moment of our baptism in Christ Jesus. The World has its ways, and we follow another way, which is the way of Christ, to do the will of our Father in Heaven. We then live by faith in the Word of GOD, which is His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, according to John chapter 1. At the same time, we resist the devil so he shall flee from us. We make a stance for Christ in a world that is corrupted, but that starts in us. It is a change within, that stands in agreement with righteousness and in contention with wickedness, firstly in us, even when we slip and fail, we remain intentioned on righteousness and the Will of GOD. It is not just a counter weight, it is an "all-in-thing." When we fail, we have a Father in Heaven to Whom we can run to, we are no longer orphans in this world. Each must work out their Salvation with the LORD in fear and trembling, it is a frightful thing to fall into the hand of the Living GOD.
Let no man deceive you, for Christ himself spoke of those to whom He will say on that day, depart from me you who work iniquity. While we may still be able to convince the world, even some of our brothers and sisters in the Faith by justification and excuse, the LORD knows the Truth in us. To prepare then, we must be able to see ourselves for who we truly are, sinners saved by Grace.
Does GOD refuse us when we come to Him in repentance? Then, neither should we be cold hearted when our brother comes to us to repent of transgressing against us. Remember, it is an "all-in-thing." Treat others as you wish to be treated, show them the mercy which you need too. A renewal is to leave vengeance to the Lord your GOD, and continue on in His love, by forgiving your neighbours as you have been forgiven. Is that not a renewal of mind and heart? Is that not a new lifestyle? Is that not contrary to what you witness around you in the world? It is a word and deed thing, publicly and privately. It is an all-in-thing, where you stand for Christ Jesus here on Earth as He stands for you at our Father in Heaven.
It is Christ who first spoke of this renewal when He spoke to Nicodemus, that he must be reborn. And while I believe that baptism is an immersion in the Word of GOD, it does not exclude going through the water in practice, in the witness of the congregation of the saints of GOD. It is like a testimony for Christ Jesus our Lord, that you are laying yourself down with Him in the grave, that you may be raised with Him from it. Just as Paul describes here in this chapter.
So indeed we are back to the crucial question of our time, "Are you ready yet?" Are you truly ready to receive the LORD at His return? Are you ready to face the trials and tribulations? Are you ready to make your stance for Christ, continuing without a fear of death?
Man says a great deal of things that he cannot back up in practice, let that not be true of you. Let your yes be yes and your no be no, just as it is written. Just as Christ Jesus said.

Verse of The Day
From the YouVersion Bible App (Expanded from verse 27)
John 14:25-31 KJV
[25] These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. [26] But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. [27] Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. [28] Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. [29] And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. [30] Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. [31] But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
