Note for 20241030 - Christian Living - Parables of Christ - The Conclusion
Parables of Christ - The Conclusion
Take Note
The reading plan on the parables of Jesus Christ, came to a somewhat abrupt end this morning. The last two planned reading days consisted of no reading days, simply stating to catch up with what I may have fallen behind in. I was up to date with my reading. I told you, I don't read ahead. So, I became still before the LORD, because I was in unplanned territory. I was brought to this, by verse 1, here, being the verse of the day from the YouVersion Bible App.
Before we carry on, please take special note of this: The Audio Notes today, both from the House of Bread and from Mike of COT are HIGHLY advised for you to listen to. It contains this to be read here, and on top of that additional matters to ponder on.
Friends, I do urge you to be sober-minded and heed the warnings at this time. The World is standing on the edge of becoming something we have never known before.
Christian Living
The Audio Version of today’s note
Christian Living according to the Apostle Paul. (In conclusion of the Series on the Parables of Christ)
Romans 12:1-21 KJV
[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. [3] For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. [4] For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: [5] so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. [6] Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; [7] or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; [8] or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. [9] Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. [10] Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; [11] not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; [12] rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; [13] distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. [14] Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. [15] Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. [16] Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. [17] Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. [18] If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. [19] Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. [20] Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. [21] Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Note for 20241030
See this then as the conclusion of the series on the Parables of Christ. You may have asked yourself at some point, "what is expected of me?" Here Paul gives us somewhat of a summary of what Christian Living should be.
This however, is more than just a conclusion of the reading plan about the Parables of Christ. It is also a conclusion for a cycle of reading the Sermon on the Mount, the Book of Revelation and the 65 books in the Bible that came before it. This is what it all should lead to for us while we are still here on earth, that our lives may make a difference to the children of GOD, just as we have learned according to Matthew 25:40. What we do to the least of these whom God has placed us in the midst of, we do to Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour. So, to show your appreciation for what Christ has done for you, "pay it forward" to one another.
As far as our enemies go, those that come against us, remember also Ephesians 6:12; that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. Remind yourself of the Lord's Prayer, that as you forgive, so will you be forgiven. Don't deny others forgiveness, making what Christ has done for them on the cross nothing. For in so doing, you may just bring harsh judgment upon your own head.
Be still and know Who GOD is (Psalm 46:10) and wait on the Lord. (Psalm 27:14)
I sincerely hope that you feel more equipped for each day coming, as we prepare for the coming of our Lord.
Friends, at this moment, I do not know where we go next from here. I have received requests to start our reading in Genesis 1 again. I will bring the matter before the Lord, so we may be led by Him in this matter too. For some of you, you may carry on from here to other things; some of you, even starting a cycle of reading and teaching with the Lord, to share with those you know. May GOD'S will be done.
For quite sometime I have told you, do not follow me; but, you go and follow Jesus Christ our Lord. For not all of us are called to the same, just as it is written here in today's scripture. It is important that you know that at this point I cannot guarantee you of a devotional tomorrow. May GOD'S will be done, for me and also for you. What I can assure you, is that as the Lord gives to me to share, so I will.
For now, may the Lord our God Almighty bless and keep you. May He direct you on your path before Him. May He be the Light upon your feet, may He prepare your path. It is my sincere hope that I may write to you soon again. Until that time, I will do as I have shared with you. I will be still and I will wait upon the Lord to be instructed, where to next?
Selah, Shalom.
