Matthew 6 KJV
Matthew 6:19-34 KJV - Seek First
[19] Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: [20] but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: [21] for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. [22] The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. [23] But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! [24] No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. [25] Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? [26] Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? [27] Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? [28] And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: [29] and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. [30] Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? [31] Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? [32] (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. [33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. [34] Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Note for 20240928
What are your hopes and dreams? Can we take a moment's pause and consider what these words of Christ mean? What advantage have you been given in this life? Can it be used for good, to promote the Kingdom of Heaven? What will it take to stand in the purpose GOD placed you here for?
You know, for most people here on earth the struggle is all about what they have to live. Yes, the struggle is for our daily bread; and that is in part what this is about. It seems though, once a man has figured out for himself how to have food in the house everyday, then he wants more and more. Clothes (raiment,) shelter and transport are just the beginning of the things that will be wanted to “the more.” What is a kingdom here on earth and does that not require subjects too? Man seems to live to build an empire for himself and generational wealth, to live as long as he possibly can, here on earth. Yes, they want to live life large.
Matthew 6:33 KJV
[33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

This is probably one of the most recognized verses in the Bible. And yet, seeking the righteousness of GOD seems to be the part of this verse that is forgotten first. Christ said that no flesh can enter into the Kingdom of GOD, and as we have seen in our reading, GOD is Spirit. God is love. The ministry of Christ, even His parables has a high attention on the Kingdom of GOD. Yet it seems that man insists on building a kingdom for himself on earth. You cannot serve two masters; do you understand it yet?
You see, people will put in the maintenance for their properties, but relationship maintenance is neglected, especially their relationship with Christ. Do you remember Matthew 25:40 yet? "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
Building a kingdom for yourself on earth works against all that is required to seek the Kingdom of GOD first. The kingdoms of earth require you to convince others to help you build your own, by way of subjecting others to your will and what you need of them as we see in employment. The Kingdom of Heaven requires humility, to bow to the will of GOD. I know it is a weak comparison, but the best I have right now is to ask, are you employed by GOD? When you are at work, you further the cause of your employer, the one that brings your reward.
Now, that does not mean that you may not be employed, it rather speaks to the heart. Remember Matthew 25:40 even in your service to man. But, do not neglect the search for the righteousness of GOD in everything. If you are employed for evil motives, then you better be there to lead people out of evil and oppression. To free them from the net of Satan. Two can stand working in the field, it is their motives that separates them. Do you work for good according to the Word's definitions, or by the definitions of the world?
We all fall short of the glory of GOD, but the one who does not consider what he is working towards are most trapped of all. If you are only chasing a reward, a pay-cheque of some kind; then you are working for yourself. It is then easy to fall into the trap of thinking, my will be done. Now, GOD gave us free will and He respects our choice, but can our will become that His Will be done? Then we will work to promote His Kingdom, in His Righteousness. Then we will know that His Salvation is not just for us, but available to all that can join their kingdoms to His.
I truly hope that these words may be of assistance to you to see the life there is in the Word of GOD. That the Way may become clearer day by day. Employ what you have for the Kingdom of GOD, put what you have to work for Him.
Selah Shalom
Verse of The Day
(YouVersion - Expanded from verse 24)
Matthew 16:24-27 KJV
[24] Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. [25] For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. [26] For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? [27] For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
