Note for 2024/07/20 - Titus 1:1-16 KJV - Purposed
Titus 1:1-16 KJV
[1] Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; [2] in hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; [3] but hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; [4] to Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. [5] For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: [6] if any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. [7] For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; [8] but a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; [9] holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. [10] For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: [11] whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. [12] One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. [13] This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; [14] not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. [15] Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. [16] They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Note for 2024/07/20
This, much the same as was written to Timothy, establishing a standard for the church among the Gentiles. Once more, we get this kind of checklist of the things which should be refrained from (even resisted) and that which is for the profit of God's Kingdom.
I am going through a physical thing, my body being troubled. The things that were easy for me to do, have become somewhat of a struggle. With my mind on Christ and God's Kingdom, I may have neglected this vessel that my soul was poured into; and now it demands attention. Yes, it is just flesh, but it is the flesh I was given. The symptoms are something you may have experienced too, pain in the joints and muscle fatigue. I am working on it. I had to set some time aside and work with professionals in the field.
Why am I sharing this with you? I mean it, why; for right now, I don't know either. I write as I receive.
Life is not always kind to us, have you noticed that? Those that have read along with me for a while, have heard sections of my testimony. So yes, maybe it is old injuries flaring up again; or maybe it is just the way the flesh goes into age. Regardless, this world is not my home, I am just passing by. All of us go through forms of tribulation, a trial period, to establish our soul in Christ. Where will our help come from? Yes, our help is of The Lord. Without tribulation, how will we be certain of our Salvation; how will we learn of The Father's love for us? I have heard many say, "why me?" However, I have learned, why not me? Besides, in every trial I have learned, there are those worse off than me. What's more, we should not complain to GOD, when we did not show good stewardship of what He gave us. Did Paul not tell Timothy to take a little wine for his infirmities, in our reading yesterday?
Yes, the body is of the flesh, of this material existence we find ourselves in, dust to dust; and yet, we only have this one. As we mind our property, we must take care of the vessel in which we are. For the soul manifests here in the world to others, in the form of flesh. It carries us in presentation to one another. With it, we do the work; yes, with these arms we embrace another to comfort their soul. So are we, even our soul, the vessel of the Holy Spirit of GOD, in the Name of Jesus Christ; presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ for Salvation unto all we meet. The Comforter sent by our Father in Heaven, as Christ requested of Him. He said, I will ask the Father to send you another Comforter.
What we read here in Titus 1, of the trades of those that stand in service of the Gospel and the church for Christ, is the fruits of the Spirit of GOD made manifest, even by the flesh, in full alignment with God's instruction. He that takes a little wine for his infirmities, must not give himself over to it to the point of drunkenness. Understand? For if a man cannot control himself, how can he be trusted with the church? Then, he is not ready for the duty of ministry yet; then, he is still in need to be ministered too.
So, at this time, I am conditioning my body to be able to carry on in all that must be done, to persist until Christ returns. But, we must also condition our soul to be ready to receive the Lord. When the tree produces fruit, you know that it has matured, able to withstand the winds that blow through its branches, even all the troubles of the seasons. Then, we know, it is rooted and anchored in the foundation of that which makes him stand. For us, that is Christ Jesus.

Verse of the Day Expanded
Proverbs 27:17-21 KJV
[17] Iron sharpeneth iron; So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. [18] Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: So he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured. [19] As in water face answereth to face, So the heart of man to man. [20] Hell and destruction are never full; So the eyes of man are never satisfied. [21] As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; So is a man to his praise.

From Psalms
Psalm 91:1-16 KJV
[1] He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. [2] I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in him will I trust. [3] Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the noisome pestilence. [4] He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. [5] Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; Nor for the arrow that flieth by day; [6] Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. [7] A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; But it shall not come nigh thee. [8] Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold And see the reward of the wicked. [9] Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, Even the most High, thy habitation; [10] There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. [11] For he shall give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways. [12] They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. [13] Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. [14] Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. [15] He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. [16] With long life will I satisfy him, And shew him my salvation.
