Note for 2024/06/16 - ‭Romans 12:1-21 KJV‬ - The spirit of offense

‭Romans 12:1-21 KJV‬

[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. [3] For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. [4] For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: [5] so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. [6] Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; [7] or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; [8] or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. [9]  Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. [10] Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; [11] not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; [12] rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; [13] distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. [14] Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. [15] Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. [16] Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. [17] Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. [18] If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. [19] Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. [20] Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. [21] Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Note for 2024/06/16

I don't know about you, but I have noticed something happening, which leaves just enough concern, that it should be addressed. My hope is that it might not be the same for you. I have noticed a rise in offense, and from reports I have heard, it is happening in many places regardless of circumstance. People are becoming offensive, and easily offended, even amongst friends.

A while ago, the Lord told me that the spiritual will begin to manifest more-and-more; to the point that man will no longer hide who they truly are. What is offense then? Since I write to a base of believers, I can speak plainly, offense is of spirit. Yes, once again we must consider Ephesians 6 in our daily operations. It is almost as if patience itself is being challenged. I suppose, a prudent question would be, brothers and sisters in Christ; are you noticing it and dealing with it by the Holy Spirit, or are you just rolling with it?

Overcome evil with good. Resist the devil, and he shall flee from you. Arrest your thoughts and give no occasion for the spirit of offense to use you. If you are Spiritually blind you may walk into a heap of trouble, and don't think the family unit is safe. In fact, where may a spiritual attack by the enemy be most effective? The spirit of offense can pull a family apart, it can turn good friends into enemies. And all this, easily done if we should think higher of ourselves than we ought to. In a more simple explanation so it can be understood well; if a pile of dishes will bring contention, wash them for the sake of peace. Give no occasion to offense, especially at this time. What you expect of another, better then if you do it. So is contention averted and the offense is dealt with.

This chapter is about Christian living, and I am essentially just focusing on one element of it for today. If one element can cause so much chaos, what still if all of it is unknown or disregarded? This is not just true at home, it is necessary wherever we go. If the home is under attack, know that, so will the church be under attack.

What does this further mean? Be careful of high opinions. The need to stand in the right, can push debate to serious contention. The world is functioning by the spirit of offense right now, it seems that everyone now knows best. Do not make yourself guilty of this, do not engage in foolish debates that lead to divisions and hate. The Lord said to me, not to join those who make a noise in the street, for they stand in a spirit of rebellion. Is rebellious behavior not related to a spirit of offense? Does it not force hate? And is hate not like murder? Read then again, the sermon of Jesus Christ on the mount. Friends, in Christ we are held to a higher standard. We cannot surrender to every emotion. No, all that we find within ourselves, must be held captive and tested, if it be of GOD, or of the enemy. Test all things and keep that which is good. If you expect more than what you have received, you are easily offended. If found that there is less than what is needed to maintain the peace give you then more. For the one that takes and takes, gathers unto himself, he is not in the habit of giving. But, you, who gives and gives, have not been made accustomed to receiving you are practiced in giving, so give.

Therefore if thine enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. (Verse 21)

Friends, see what is happening in the world and do not have part in it. Separate yourself from those who stand in their own will, for they do not know that their will have been weaponized to do the enemy's bidding. For they stand with accusation in their heart, calling for justice, and thus, calling to be judged themselves. If then, they are not covered by the Blood of the Lamb, will they not be found in the wrong too? Who then is the Judge of mankind? Who is the accuser? See... You know! What is the nature of the things you see playing out around you, who then is the one that oppresses? The world does not operate by the Holy Spirit. No friends, they will accuse GOD, just as it is written in the book of Revelations. See now why we have church buildings set on fire and ministers attacked, for this world thinks that GOD is the oppressor. They want to be free to do as they please, they have forgotten their Creator. They act by the spirit of offense. Have no part in it, it has a wicked source. It is rebellion against the Most High GOD and His Son. Know it for what it is.

Shalom

YouVersion Bible verse of the Day

It is Father’s day today, and I do not personally support these singled out days to honor those that should be honored daily.

‭Proverbs 23:24 KJV‬

[24] The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: And he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.

Consider:

In relation to the Will of GOD, let us look at it in the Commandments:

‭Exodus 20:12 KJV‬

[12] Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

https://bible.com/bible/1/exo.20.12.KJV

On my own part, I give Greater Honor to our Father in Heaven, for we do not have if not received from GOD first.

‭Matthew 6:9-10 KJV‬

[9] After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. [10] Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
