Note for 2024/05/18 - ‭1 Corinthians 15:1-11 KJV - The Resurrection‬ - Part 1

‭1 Corinthians 15:1-11 KJV‬

[1] Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; [2] by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4] and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: [5] and that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: [6] after that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. [7] After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. [8] And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. [9] For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. [10] But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. [11] Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

Note for 2024/05/18

This morning friends, I read all of this chapter and must admit, first I was going to highlight all, because it must be understood as a whole. But I was called back, because for some, it would be too much. Yes, and I remember how the slowest of the Israelites was fast enough to outpace the fastest horse of Pharaoh's army; passing through the parted waters of the Red Sea.

How then did you come to faith friends? Can you remember? Paul is speaking here of the foundation that was laid in Christ Jesus our Lord. What were you told that made you a believer?

A central theme has been developing these past few days and it is based on your belief. Do you in fact accept the Word of GOD? Or are their parts of it you cannot agree on? I have written on the Kingdom Mindset, how it is not a democracy. We do not get to vote on what GOD'S Truth is, that is not how it works. It's a Kingdom. The Word of GOD is not a human publication, and does not even that which were intended for evil work for good for those that believe in GOD? Is Christ not The Word of GOD, the Word made flesh that dwelled among mankind. Here Paul lists the witnesses of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the only Begotten Son of GOD.

Friends, if you do not believe what you read, then what is your faith based upon? If you do not stand in agreement with the Word of GOD, what then has your Faith become. Do you believe in the outpouring of The Holy Spirit? Do you walk the path of purification and deliverance unto the point of our redemption? Is that not what our resurrection will complete when we are then in fact redeemed unto the LORD to be where He is?

I have said this before, but you can forget my words if only you will hold on to the Word that GOD kept available for us through all the ages. The rest of this chapter will go further into that and yes, by an extreme case of consideration of all the elements of our faith, as it was given by those who witnessed Christ. They have seen, we have not. No, it is that out poured Spirit of GOD in us that convinces us, so we believe not having seen and Christ Himself spoke a blessing out on us, "Blessed are those that have not seen, yet believed."

How do you believe, if you do not know? And how do you know, without a meeting of the Truth in some way or form? And is the Word of GOD not given to us in writing, even as we are filled by the very same Holy Spirit as were poured out in these men we read of? Are we then united by the Spirit of GOD? Then what about all these divisions amongst us?

Don't you know that division comes when a lie or corruption seeps in? When the Truth of the Word is somehow corrupted, by making something other than our Lord Jesus Christ the focus of our attention? When we start choosing what it is we believe, instead of believing in what was given by GOD. The Truth is not based on our belief, our belief is based on the Truth.

When our faith does not comply with the Truth, then it is our faith that must be corrected, less we start removing the Word of GOD to suit our belief. How then will the Word of GOD be hacked apart? For one will say, this does not belong there, and another will say even, "Jesus was not resurrected." What is faith then?

That is what this chapter is about, and just yesterday I had to stand explaining that the Word is what it says. We cannot remove the very thing that we need to change from the Word of GOD. We can't, friends. It is the Word of GOD, not mine. GOD determined what would endure. Less you think that GOD Will not Keep His Own Word. To me it seems folly to speak on this, and yet I must.

Did GOD not keep the line from Adam unto Christ Jesus our Lord? Is it not recorded in the Gospels? Is our faith then not based upon a trust in that which is greater than ourselves? I say again, it seems foolish to me to speak on this, and yet, by experience, I know I must.

Friends, how do you believe in something you haven't read? How do you know someone without meeting them? Can you know someone by their words? Are the words we speak not the fruit produced by our souls? And if we are indeed in union with the Lord in the Spirit of GOD, would our words not confirm one another? Does it? Then what went wrong?

I put it to you, things go wrong when man's opinion takes president over the Word of GOD. So hold on to what is written. If we do not understand, it means we lack understanding rather than the Word of GOD is wrong and no longer applies. If that is your final conclusion, that the Word of GOD is outdated, then I cannot agree with you, for I know what comes against the Word of GOD.

Shalom

Verse of the Day

(YouVersion, expanded from verse 8 for context)

‭Acts 1:6-11 KJV‬

[6] When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? [7] And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. [8] But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. [9] And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. [10] And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; [11] which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
