Note for 2024/05/13 - 1 Corinthians 11:1-16 KJV - The Head of Man
1 Corinthians 11:1-16 KJV
[1] Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. [2] Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. [3] But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. [4] Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. [5] But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. [6] For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. [7] For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. [8] For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. [9] Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. [10] For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. [11] Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. [12] For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God. [13] Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? [14] Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? [15] But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. [16] But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

Note for 2024/05/13
It seems like our teaching in the morning takes us into the deeper things of the faith, especially of late. It is interesting that this happens at the very time when things seem to go into some form of chaos in the world.
Friends, the scripture above, I did not write. It is here for each one to read and once more I have this lingering question: Do you believe in what you read? What is written here?
Mankind has an immediate response of defense when he is caught in the wrong. Have you noticed that yet? We want to explain "the why" quickly to excuse ourselves, don't we? But in that need of self defense, we rely upon ourselves to protect our own viewpoint soon.
Let me explain, did you read about a man having long hair here? I have long hair, very long hair. So how can I judge anyone else? Do we know each other's conversations with the Lord? Do we know what is said in prayers that flows silently between man and GOD? Do we know the Word of GOD well enough to judge others on how we should live? And still, what is written here; who is the head of who? Just as I cannot not deny the scripture about a man with long hair, neither can we deny the rest written here. It is in the word of GOD.
So, for the sake of looking at something else written here. Who then was created for who? How can a man insist his wife honors him, but he dishonors Christ our Lord? What of the head covering?
The deeper question to ask is; who, do you do what you do, for? Look around you, keep close attention, not in judgment, for GOD is our Judge, but in order to see more. Who is it that man truly worships? Who comes first in the life of each? Is it not the self? Look and see.
If then covered or uncovered, long or short hair, to honor or to dishonor; yes, even who stands at the head of another or who stands in servitude to who... Who is it then you live for? Do you know of the vow of the Nazirite? You may read more about it in Numbers 6, and while it is a matter between me and the LORD, I mention this only to caution you about swift judgment. But I do ask, and I am authorized to pose the question... Who do you do what you do, for? To cover your head or not, who determines that, the Word of GOD or you? Who do you acknowledge as the head of you? Is that based on your own ideas or by the Word of GOD? What is the practice of our time, is it of man or GOD? How does a man expect the favor of the LORD, if he himself denies GOD? How does a woman expect to be loved by her husband if she dishonors him? I say again, I did not write this epistle to the Corinthians, the man that Christ himself selected for the duty, Paul, wrote it. And was he not a trained Pharisee in the Law of Moses?
So I ask again, do you believe what you read in the Word of GOD, or only as long as it pleases you? If man chooses for himself, who is then honored as Lord over who and what? Does the same Word not say, judge not less you be judged?
Why do you do what you do, who is it done for? Just how important has the self become in all matters for each one breathing in this moment? The Word of GOD says what it does, man's interpretations are what brings confusion. How, then, do you answer what you have read here? Is a woman the head of her husband? Is man the head of Christ? What you do and what you don't, is the matter determined by you or GOD?
Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Do not make a vow you do not intend to keep. So what we do, we must do for GOD. Don't you know that my hair is just a symbol of my separation to the LORD? For if my hair is shaved, do I then somehow claim I was created by another? Don't you know that I was called to my separation, even to a specific duty. And this here, that I share with you, is part of that duty, which I gladly do in the Love of Christ our Lord. But what it does not change is what is written here. So when man judges me for my long hair, I meet them with patience; for they may not know of my separation unto the Lord and that is wholly scriptural. If you read Numbers 6, you will see it is about more than just long hair. The length of my hair only testifies of my commitment to the Lord. The glory of it is for the Lord, for it is the Lord that keeps me.
I summation then, who do you do what you do for? May it be for the Lord.

Matthew 7:7-12 KJV
[7] Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: [8] for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. [9] Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? [10] Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? [11] If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? [12] Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

In this world there are a multitude of customs and traditions, depending on where you live, you may have to adhere to those. In some areas, those customs have been placed into the law of the land.
The Word of GOD teaches us the Laws, customs and practices of Heaven, which we must adhere to if we are to become citizens of GOD’S KINGDOM.

Though not required in vow form from those who stand in faith to Jesus Christ of Nazareth, here is the Law on the Vow of the Nazarite.
Numbers 6:1-21 KJV
[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, [2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD: [3] he shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. [4] All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk. [5] All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow. [6] All the days that he separateth himself unto the LORD he shall come at no dead body. [7] He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his God is upon his head. [8] All the days of his separation he is holy unto the LORD. [9] And if any man die very suddenly by him, and he hath defiled the head of his consecration; then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day shall he shave it. [10] And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons, to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: [11] and the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and make an atonement for him, for that he sinned by the dead, and shall hallow his head that same day. [12] And he shall consecrate unto the LORD the days of his separation, and shall bring a lamb of the first year for a trespass offering: but the days that were before shall be lost, because his separation was defiled. [13] And this is the law of the Nazarite, when the days of his separation are fulfilled: he shall be brought unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: [14] and he shall offer his offering unto the LORD, one he lamb of the first year without blemish for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish for a sin offering, and one ram without blemish for peace offerings, [15] and a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, and wafers of unleavened bread anointed with oil, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings. [16] And the priest shall bring them before the LORD, and shall offer his sin offering, and his burnt offering: [17] and he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, with the basket of unleavened bread: the priest shall offer also his meat offering, and his drink offering. [18] And the Nazarite shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall take the hair of the head of his separation, and put it in the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace offerings. [19] And the priest shall take the sodden shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and shall put them upon the hands of the Nazarite, after the hair of his separation is shaven: [20] and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD: this is holy for the priest, with the wave breast and heave shoulder: and after that the Nazarite may drink wine. [21] This is the law of the Nazarite who hath vowed, and of his offering unto the LORD for his separation, beside that his hand shall get: according to the vow which he vowed, so he must do after the law of his separation.

Romans 8:35-39 KJV
[35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? [36] As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. [37] Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. [38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hebrews 7:26-28 KJV
[26] For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; [27] who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. [28] For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

In Conclusion
Christ Jesus is the Head, and we the body; that too is written. Are we then to live like headless chickens? GOD establishes order, the enemy stands for disorder, rebellion, lies, deceit and death. GOD’s Will in matters is codified and recorded for us to reference in written form, and we have The Spirit of GOD poured out in us to confirm. The question really is then rather, who do you trust in, man or GOD? If then GOD, then we must adopt the Word of GOD as Truth.
Shalom
