Acts 12:1-25 KJV

[1] Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. [2] And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. [3] And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) [4] And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. [5] Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. [6] And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. [7] And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. [8] And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. [9] And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. [10] When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. [11] And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews. [12] And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying. [13] And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. [14] And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. [15] And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel. [16] But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished. [17] But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place. [18] Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter. [19] And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judæa to Cæsarea, and there abode. [20] And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king's chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king's country. [21] And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. [22] And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. [23] And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost. [24] But the word of God grew and multiplied. [25] And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.

Man of GOD

At this moment, still, I don't know what the message for today's note is yet. I have this thought to give what was prepared, so I will give it.

Isaiah 34:1-17 KJV

[1] Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it. [2] For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter. [3] Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood. [4] And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree. [5] For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment. [6] The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea. [7] And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness. [8] For it is the day of the LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion. [9] And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch. [10] It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever. [11] But the cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it: and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness. [12] They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none shall be there, and all her princes shall be nothing. [13] And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of dragons, and a court for owls. [14] The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest. [15] There shall the great owl make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow: there shall the vultures also be gathered, every one with her mate. [16] Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them. [17] And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.

What can I say, who did not even choose the title for today. In myself I have no words to correct or comfort you. But this is what was given.

There are many forms of murder, who lives by the sword shall die by the sword, and yet here James who lived by the Word died by the sword. What is justice, friends, righteous justice? Justice is of the LORD, and He will bring it on the day of His vengeance. His indignation is upon all nations and His fury upon their armies. Yet, the Angel of the LORD was sent to set Peter free from the prison, as he lay bound with chains between two guards. He was loosened and brought to safety. And Herod, he was eaten by worms and he gave up the ghost.

Friends, there is still a day outstanding, that is the day on which the nations of the world will be judged for all their ungodly deeds, for their oppression of the poor, the weak and meek. Herod was against some of the church, but once he found favour with the Jews when he killed James, he became a murderer and they hailed him as a god. Is this like they demanded Barabbas to be freed and to crucify Jesus Christ?

There is a day outstanding friends, and hearts are growing cold, because iniquity abounds. But, the LORD will save whom He pleases to save, even if it is by the Angel of the Lord. We pray, "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven," but how much of it do you mean? For here, in Isaiah 34 is what that day will look like. Note that the fury of the LORD is upon the armies of the nations of the earth upon whom his indignation is. Do you think it might be for their wars and oppression of those who are not of this world but in it? And might the meek, those who thirst for righteousness, the peacemakers and merciful be blessed in some way? What of those who did not see and yet believed in Jesus Christ as the Word made flesh, the Son of GOD and their Lord and Saviour? Might they be taken to safety, as Peter was here in our reading? What does the Word say, and yet we have James, the brother of John pierced by the sword of Herod. Can flesh enter into the Kingdom of GOD? We are not of this world, right?

Why was Peter then saved and James not? That is how the carnal mind, that is enmity with GOD, reasons, friends. For we see as though through a glass dimly lit, with our eyes we see that which is made manifest in this physical space. Now we still know in part. If we are then not of this world, will we remain in it, or be taken to where we belong to be, which is to be with Christ, where He is and as He is, joint-heirs with Christ? Do we love our lives unto death? I invite you to research these words, line by line, sentence by sentence and statement by statement. Did GOD not set apart Israel in Goshen when He came against Egypt? Let me show you:

Revelation 9:1-4 KJV

[1] And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. [2] And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. [3] And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. [4] And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

You, who have received the Holy Spirit, are one with GOD. You are forgiven, you are the Children of GOD sealed by his Holy Spirit. While 144 000 virgins of Israel will be sealed in their foreheads, know that you are sealed for GOD now, if you are of GOD. However, there is a great matter that lies in the text that is often missed. Those that come out of the bottomless pit, they cannot touch those who are sealed of GOD, meaning that there will be those who are sealed, here, when the bottomless pit is opened.

Yes, this is a topic most people run away from. It is a subject many will not hear. For the lips of the hirelings have been silent on the matter in soothsaying. How do you keep the sheep calm when the wolf is at the fence or closer still in the gate or in sheepskin as strange men that have come in amongst us (Jude 1?) You don't speak of the wolf, right? Well, there are wolves, but let the Holy Spirit of GOD be your comfort, not the lullabies of men.

Psalm 91:1-16 KJV

[1] He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. [2] I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in him will I trust. [3] Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the noisome pestilence. [4] He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. [5] Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; Nor for the arrow that flieth by day; [6]  Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. [7] A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; But it shall not come nigh thee. [8] Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold And see the reward of the wicked. [9] Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, Even the most High, thy habitation; [10] There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. [11] For he shall give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways. [12] They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. [13] Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. [14] Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. [15] He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. [16] With long life will I satisfy him, And shew him my salvation.
