The Gospel of Jesus Christ

According to Luke

Part 114 - Luke 21 - Times and Seasons

Watch at:

Luke 21:1-38 KJV

[1] And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. [2] And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. [3] And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: [4] for all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.  [5] And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, [6] As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. [7] And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? [8] And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. [9] But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. [10] Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: [11] and great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. [12] But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. [13] And it shall turn to you for a testimony. [14] Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: [15] for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. [16]  And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. [17] And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. [18] But there shall not an hair of your head perish. [19] In your patience possess ye your souls. [20]  And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. [21] Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. [22] For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. [23] But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. [24] And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. [25]  And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [26] men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. [27] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. [28] And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.  [29] And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; [30] when they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. [31] So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. [32] Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. [33] Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. [34]  And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. [35] For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. [36] Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.  [37] And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives. [38] And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.

Note for 20250516

How many sermons have you heard of this passage and of Matthew 24? Forget not how the widow cast all of her living in the treasury and received the attention of Jesus Christ.

Luke 21:24 KJV

[24] And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Revelation 11:2 KJV

[2] But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

Daniel 7:25 KJV

[25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Like so many have done before me, once more, I bring it too again. Know the seasons and the times for it is written here that this generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. What is often missed though, is this:

Luke 21:17-19 KJV

[17] And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. [18] But there shall not an hair of your head perish. [19] In your patience possess ye your souls.

https://bible.com/bible/1/luk.21.17-19.KJV

What shall you possess? Is your soul confined to the flesh forever? Can the flesh enter into the Kingdom of GOD? Look up, for your redemption draws near. The words, "as a thief in the night," "in a moment we think not," so will the coming of the Son of man be. Then I look around me, and I have an expectation in my heart, thinking, will I be caught unaware too? I have kept the watch to the best of my ability, and know what is impossible for man, GOD can perform. There is no doubt in me, we are living in this very end time that Christ spoke of here. It is clear to me, how many are expectant in this moment, even amongst the godless. They are awaiting their champion. They speak of peace and security and have I not spoken on how ready all is for the season to come in? Then again, "a time when ye think not" rings in me. I wonder, just how much of this we will see and if we are ready to the point that our hearts will not fail for what we see come upon the earth. Have I cast all of my substance to the treasury of GOD? Who is ready at any moment to receive the LORD? Am I?

I am a cautious man. I weigh my words in deep consideration. How often do I still fail? May the LORD have mercy on them that year for His righteousness to come. Like the boy that cry wolf, I often feel. And yet, I know the wolf is coming at some point in time and the season seem ripe for it. So while I know not the day or hour, I proclaim, this is the season in which a wolf may come. Shall the hirelings run and the sheep be scattered? Will I have to run, after all, I am not in Judea? I share with you some of my consideration, as I keep the watch as I have been instructed. Have I been instructed alone? Are there not more watchmen on the wall? I cannot say my Lord delayith His coming, all I see is evidence of His Amazing Grace, Who keep open the door unto Salvation, so more can come in. I know the watch is in me, to guard my souls countenance and to be comforted by The Holy Spirit of GOD.

Last night, before I went to sleep, once more I did a deep dive into some matters regarding the formation of the beast system. The season appears to be ripe, my friends. It almost feels redundant to say, "any moment from now on," for the day and hour still evades us. So, what is left but to be ready at every moment, with our "Spiritual Bags" packed. Oh! It is an inner-check! A searching out for the log in my own eye, and that is the message that I wish to bring to you today. It is the message of oil for the lamp. From what I see, it still appears a little early, but then I ponder on the unseen. What meetings have been held behind closed doors. For the leaders speak while they sit at a table, but sit at a table too when they go for tea. So much written off as coincidence, while I have learned that coincidence is not a kosher word. Who has the Lord called out to in the middle of the night, who did He instruct, to keep the watch?

So I speak in prose at this time, left with a library's worth of unspoken words and a prayer in my heart, that the warning has been heard. For some, today, as it has been before for others, the sun will not set on them this day, and keep their breath in them. Far too soon, by the considerations of carnal minds, the end of this life comes for many who met it unaware. Their view was always on foreign horizons, but never did they glance back into their own soul. So, the watch begins at home, even within us, as logs are found and carried out in a purging. Self-control, the method used, to spring-clean the soul. As a child in the backseat of the car, I pose the question, "Are we there yet?"
