Part 91 - Luke 8 - Blessed Assurance

Watch at:

Luke 8:16-40 KJV

[16]  No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. [17] For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. [18] Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have. [19] Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press. [20] And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee. [21] And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.  [22] Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. [23] But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. [24] And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. [25] And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.  [26] And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. [27] And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. [28] When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. [29] (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.) [30] And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him. [31] And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep. [32] And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them. [33] Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked. [34] When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country. [35] Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. [36] They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed. [37] Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear; and he went up into the ship, and returned back again. [38] Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying, [39] Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him. [40] And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.

Blessed Assurance

How many want to break out in song right now? Who wants to sing, "Jesus is mine?" And yet, who are there among you that has no idea what was just said? Shall we then speak of indoctrination or shall we speak on who has come to know Christ? Who is known by Christ, who is filled by The Word of GOD?

Can you still remember why Luke said he wrote all of this down? In other words, what is important to read all these things written down?

Luke 1:1-4 KJV

[1] Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, [2] even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word; [3] it seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, [4] that thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.

Do we then stand in a doctrine of Jesus Christ and what is indoctrination, is it good or evil? Did the LORD not say that we should not call good evil nor evil good? What happens then, when you weaponize a word? For I stand in a doctrine, the doctrine of Jesus Christ. I belong to a Kingdom that no flesh can enter. Who can remember why we are reading all of this, where this journey started, of me sharing here with you, in the same fashion as Luke shares with Theophilus? That's right, we are still reading in response to what we learned in Revelation 21. The City of GOD, and how we can be among those that can enter. We are looking for the Blessed Assurance in Jesus Christ. Or, to speak more correctly, I am sharing with you what I have found, in the hope that you may be encouraged too. That you may take up the mantle, to share the good news of Jesus Christ with all you find in love.

Now, in today's reading there is a spectrum of matters covered. Who then is the family of Jesus Christ? What authority did He have, over demons and even the weather patterns. Do unclean spirits speak and have demands, and did Jesus hear them and give them as they requested? Can an unclean spirit then possess an animal, and can a mad man become a minister? What are the blessed assurances that you have found in the Word of GOD, and Who is the Word of GOD, the Truth, The Light of men and Who is the eternal Life? What doctrine is in you, what do you have, if the Word (in physical form) should be removed? Can that which you do have, sustain you in a dark night? Is the Word of GOD a lamp unto your feet? Has the Word of GOD become the foundation of who you are? Oh yes! I am indoctrinated, friends... But, no man has led me in that way. No, I was called at night by the LORD, much like it was with Samuel. What is left recorded for us in the Word of GOD is so profound that it can take a man in isolation and separation and make a believer of him. What are you filled with, the Word of GOD or Star Trek quotes? The Word of GOD or silly jokes? The Word of GOD or trivia? You see, our verse in focus today I haven't given you yet, and here it is:

Luke 8:25 KJV

[25] And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

Where is your faith?

If you received the message in full today, there will come a time in the fulfillment of prophecy, when this one question will make the difference whether you still believe or fall away. Then, you will want a sound doctrine in you, as devils push on you. For night comes, when no man can work. A long dark night that lasts longer than you have ever known. A night in which the oil of another will not get you through. Will you remember Legion then, or who is the true family of Jesus Christ? Will you be surprised if your pets become like enemies? What is the use of a door that seals your house, when the enemy is already in the house? Can you make sense of it, that where the Spirit of GOD is not in a man, that he is driven by another, just as we learned in Ephesians 6? Will you be awake, on post in the Whole Armour of GOD? Or will you need someone to remind you of all things? Are you ready then, come what may? What has the Word of GOD prepared you for, a trip to the mall, or a family gathering? Who is your family? Are we still engrossed by what we can see?

Know this too: there is a purpose that I write here to you too. Not to entertain you, no! Netflix is probably better suited for that cause. I am here to guide you to find the Light of Christ, that you can remain standing with Him, when all others might fail you. If it is written here in Luke (for one) it is written for you too. Don't say, "my Lord delayeth His coming," less you are found unprepared and standing in all of your sin.

Is the Gospel of Jesus Christ in your heart. Is it like a fountain in you that cannot be stopped? Is the Life of Christ in you that will sustain you for eternity? What is your Blessed Assurance, and please do not be offended... Is it a book that can be taken from you and be burned? And if then burned, what remains in you? What remains, when the hirelings flee from the sheep of GOD, because of the wolves that have come in?

So, are you indoctrinated yet? What is your blessed Assurance for a long dark night? For Christ Himself spoked that. If you then believe in truth, and yet are unprepared for that which was said to come, may the LORD then spare you from all of that, and call you away before such a time. Because that will be a grace, that you do not suffer harsh prosecution.

Let me then give you this in conclusion of the written note of today, the last two verses of the letters sent to the churches in Revelation

Revelation 3:21-22 KJV

[21] To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. [22] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

What is the Word of GOD to you? A fairy tale? Or, is it a well documented note, in the love of God, in preparation for your day and all days to come with Prophecy included for your benefit? The Master's Plan for the Salvation of mankind?

The question is not only whether you should read it, but also if you should keep it to yourself only? Is that love?

Verse of The Day

From the YouVersion Bible App (Expanded from verse 43)

Matthew 21:42-44 KJV

[42] Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, The same is become the head of the corner: This is the Lord's doing, And it is marvellous in our eyes? [43]  Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. [44] And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
