Mark 5:21-43 KJV

[21] And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. [22] And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, [23] and besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. [24] And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. [25] And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, [26] and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, [27] when she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. [28] For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. [29] And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. [30] And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? [31] And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? [32] And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. [33] But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. [34] And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. [35] While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? [36] As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. [37] And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. [38] And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. [39] And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. [40] And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. [41] And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. [42] And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. [43] And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

Note for 20250113

It's a Big Deal

From the moment I woke up this morning, this heading was ringing in me. It is a big deal. It truly is a remarkable thing, what Christ Jesus has done. Have we heard these accounts so often that it has lost impact? On the other side, when I do hear of someone being healed, my response is, "Of course! That is what GOD does, it is not a surprise for me. He healed me. He also brought me back from death, though the circumstances were different; I know I am alive today, because of Christ Jesus."  It remains a big deal though, doesn't it?

"Just believe," He said to Jairus. Once his daughter was delivered to him, back from death; Jairus and his wife not only believed, they knew. The same is true with me, my friends. My faith is strengthened because of knowing, for I carry such a testimony with me. The Lord healed me, and he saved me from death, both the first and second death. My flesh he brought back from death, and healed it from the damage that was caused to it, so much so that the doctor operating on me himself said, "it's a miracle." He witnessed the bones of my upper jaw come back together, right in front of his eyes. He said that he bound my jaw, just to be safe. Today, when I tell people of the ordeal I survived, they think to themselves that I am lying, looking at my face. Only those who believe experience the truth of it. It is a very big deal, I should have been dead, or misfigured, at least. When you come close, then you'll see faint scars, and on my lip a missing bit, and of course if I press it, then you will see the scar tissue on my lip from the 180 stitches in my mouth.

So do I believe it? What do you think? Not only do I believe, I know. You might think to yourself, "Okay, maybe it is true for others, but is Christ willing to save me,to heal me?" For you this account of the woman that touched His clothing applies. Her faith in Christ healed her, and Jesus knew the moment she touched His garment. Friends, that is Who Jesus is. He heals the broken, He brings back life to the dead and forgives the sin of mankind. That is just Who He is. It is a big deal. JESUS is the "Biggest Deal."

I know that there are many among you that have not personally been healed or saved out of extreme situations. I know that you might be skeptical. This morning, you have the account here from the book of Mark, and me, alive right now, because of an actual intervention of GOD. It is the truth. I am a witness of Jesus Christ. You want to know the crazy concept that applies here? Whether you believe me or not, I am still alive and healed regardless. That is what the Truth is. It simply is True. And I am grateful that GOD has spared me to speak here to you. I believe in what I read here, because I carry an undeniable truth in me. Others may still stand in disbelief, but for me, it is impossible.

Now, there is somewhat of a warning in this too. Tell me, in the love of God, to what lengths do you think He might go to save your soul? I once told a boss of mine that was mocking GOD, "Everyone gets a moment of meeting GOD. Mine required 8 blows to my face with an aluminium baseball bat; I hope your meeting is not so extreme." I know, the language of that message is not the best, but the message itself remains true. What will GOD do to save your soul? He sacrificed His only Begotten Son already, what more shall He do, to make you see? It is strange how it is the hard-headed people like me, that have these powerful testimonies. You see, because of the love of God for us, He had to go a little further to convince the hard-headed. The flesh is just a vessel that can heal, especially if GOD gets involved with that healing. Is the salvation of the soul a "big enough deal?"

Oil for the lamp. Expensive oil. But, that oil is mine. I can share my testimony with you, but it will never be as much for you as it is for me. Understand? Oil for my lamp, and it is a very big deal.

Selah Shalom.

Verse of The Day

From the YouVersion Bible App (Expanded from verse 11)

1 Chronicles 29:10-19 KJV

[10] Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. [11] Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. [12] Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. [13] Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. [14] But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. [15] For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding. [16] O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own. [17] I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee. [18] O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee: [19] and give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision.
