Mark 3:13-35 KJV
[13] And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. [14] And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, [15] and to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils: [16] and Simon he surnamed Peter; [17] and James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: [18] and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphæus, and Thaddæus, and Simon the Canaanite, [19] and Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house. [20] And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. [21] And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. [22] And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils. [23] And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? [24] And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. [25] And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. [26] And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. [27] No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. [28] Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: [29] but he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: [30] because they said, He hath an unclean spirit. [31] There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. [32] And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. [33] And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? [34] And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! [35] For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

Note for 20250109
There is quite a bit here to consider. What, of the reading, stood still for you; what grabbed your attention? Is it the remark about His mother and His brothers, or is it that He spoke on the unforgivable sin. May it be, that in the list of His disciples, you read not the name of the author of this Gospel that we are reading?
In our daily notes here, we cannot always clarify everything we read. In fact, many will tell you that they learn something new every time they read. If I remember correctly, last time we looked at who Beelzebub is. Verses 14 and 15 states why Christ called these twelve to be with Him, to preach, to heal and to cast out demons. So, what are demons and where do they come from, how do they possess a person? That is a question worthy of looking into too; and you should.
Today, however, we look at, "a house divided." I know, you say, but the header is "His Disciples," so... Whose disciple are you? What is "a house?" Who is the "strongman of the house?" Who is the "House of GOD," and why are there so many denominations under the banner of Christianity? Why does the church appear as "divided?"
In the voice note that you will be able to find on SoundCloud or the website www.thehouseofbread.co.za this Sunday (2025/01/12,) GOD sparing; I will go into greater detail. The short answer is that the Church of Christ is not divided, they are one in Spirit. They may not all be in the same building of brick and mortar, not even in the same country or denomination. Here in the text Christ identifies His family, as those who do the will of GOD, our Father in Heaven. Who is obedient? Who does the will of GOD? What is the will of GOD?
Friends, there are a great many that claim they are Christians and they attend Christian churches, but they live according to their own will. Their faith is somewhat of a crutch they lean on, to get what they want. If you are still led by what you see here in this physical world, sure, you will say the church is divided; but, in Christ Jesus are we one, who does the will of GOD. Now, mankind may have his opinions about what the will of GOD is, but truly, only the Holy Spirit can confirm in each one. So did Hosea marry a prostitute by the instruction of GOD, something that the house of faith of the time undoubtedly would have frowned upon.
What is the will of GOD but this what we received upon the pages of our Bible? That, which is confirmed by the Holy Spirit in us, by Whom the authors of these books were inspired? We are thus one in the Spirit of GOD, that He sent in the Name of Jesus Christ our Saviour. The true church is one in Spirit and obedience. I know you have heard all your life, join us... Join this or that church. I know, you have been searching by yourself too.
Join Christ Jesus, admit your guilt of sin, repent of it and accept the forgiveness of sin in Jesus Christ. Call out to our Father in Heaven, in the Name of Jesus Christ in your hour of despair. If you are not joined to Christ, then you are not joined to the church of Christ, because He is our Groom. It is about what Christ did for us, not the glory we try to heap up for ourselves. You can be in the right building, but in the wrong heart. Just so, can you be in the middle of the night, in the wilderness, the only light shining for our Saviour Christ. Hear what Christ says in this chapter. Better yet, hear all of what He said.
I close here in the writing with this: Whose disciple are you, who is your tutor?
Shalom
Verse of The Day
From the YouVersion Bible App (Extended from verse 58)
1 Corinthians 15:54-58 KJV
[54] So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. [55] O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? [56] The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. [57] But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. [58] Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
