John 21:1-25 KJV

[1] After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself. [2] There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples. [3] Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing. [4] But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. [5] Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. [6] And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. [7] Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea. [8] And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes. [9] As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread. [10] Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught. [11] Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken. [12] Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord. [13] Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise. [14] This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead. [15] So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. [16] He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. [17] He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. [18] Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. [19] This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me. [20] Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee? [21] Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? [22] Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me. [23] Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? [24] This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true. [25] And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

Note for 20241225

Do You Love Jesus?

Then, feed His Sheep. Matthew 25:40 comes into full effect here for the followers of Christ. "Whatsoever ye have done unto the least of these, my brethren, ye have done unto Me." We are here to feed the flock of Christ and by preaching the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, to bring into the flock, those who belong to Christ. So we share with one another, that which came by the Holy Spirit of GOD, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Christ said that the Holy Spirit will show us of things to come, and remind us of what Christ said. That we would do greater works than He because He goes to His Father that is Greater than Him. He said that if we love Him, that we would obey His commandments, and love one another, even as He loved us. Feeding one another has both a Spiritual and physical element, even as we take communion in remembrance of Him; and here in the text, His disciples sit down to dine with Him. To be partakers of Christ, and stand in service of one another.

Today marks the end of our reading in the book of John and I received my confirmation that we will look at the epistles of John next as part of his testimony of Jesus Christ. While we read on, remembering, that John is that disciple whom Jesus loved, whom Peter is referring to, when He questions Christ about what would become of him. Today we know that John went all the way to the isle of Patmos, where he was exiled for His Testimony of Jesus Christ.

There is another thing to learn here, and that is the intent of Christ with someone else is up to Christ, and not us. So Jesus answered Peter, "If I will that he tarry till I come what is it to thee." Which brings things into a sharp focus for those who care to listen and hear. The LORD is the Lord of the resurrection. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is the LORD of our Salvation, and He knows what the Way is, for each of us, unto that everlasting life that we are promised in Him. He is thus, the LORD of our Salvation. Of mine, and of yours. What is needed for our Salvation, He shall bring, even if it comes by the hand of a stranger. It is important that we follow the Lord Jesus Christ, that we obey His commandments. As He gives to us, He gives from what He knows of us. We must not take on some "messiah-complex" thinking that we have somehow become man's saviours. It remains Christ that saves, we are His servants and obey His voice. He gives the direction, we obey. We do not lead, we follow Him. If we keep our focus on Him, and we follow Him; then there might just be a chance that those that follow us might be saved too. Our hope is in this, that somewhere in time, those that follow us can remove their eyes from us and follow Him. So, if we fail, they do not fail with us. Where we fall short, they might prevail.

Here, I feed you, His sheep, from what I received of Him. But, my hope is that you will be fed from the source of Life, that you may feed the flock of Christ too. For there is much labour to be done, and the workers are few. There are many that are thrusting for the life-giving water we receive of Christ,by the Holy Spirit of GOD, that was sent in His Name.

So has this become a mindset in me, that I trust Jesus Christ every bit as much to save you, as I trust Him to save me. He is the Saviour, I am just His helper. A servant that lives Him. And by the Love that GOD has placed in me, I am able to love those that He made.

In this little time dilation that we have here, today is Christmas as I write here. But this message will only reach most of you, a day or more from here. Aayou spend time with those GOD gave you on this day, remember that they are God's first. Treat one another with the love of God, for so did GOD love us, that He sent His only Begotten Son, to die for us that we may live. Treat each other then in such a way that promotes life in all.

May GOD be with you, may He Bless and Keep you.

Shalom

Galatians 4:4-7 KJV

[4] but when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, [5] to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. [6] And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. [7] Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
