The Audio Version of today’s note

John 16:1-33 KJV

[1]  These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. [2] They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. [3] And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. [4] But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. [5] But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? [6] But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. [7] Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. [8] And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: [9] of sin, because they believe not on me; [10] of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; [11] of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. [12]  I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. [13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. [15] All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. [16] A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father. [17] Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father? [18] They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith. [19] Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? [20] Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. [21] A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. [22] And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. [23] And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. [24] Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. [25]  These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. [26] At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: [27] for the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. [28] I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. [29] His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. [30] Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God. [31] Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? [32] Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. [33] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

How shall we know?

John 16:13 KJV

[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Who brings the Word of GOD unto mankind today? Who reveals the Truth to us, and guides us in the Righteousness of Christ? By Whom do we Speak? Better yet, by Whom are we shown the things to come that we know, that we know, that the Hour of the return of Christ is near?

What is my confidence? Is it of me, or Him that have taken a dwelling place in me, just as Christ promised us? By whom can I speak of the things I say? How can a man like me, with a frail mind and poor memory, speak of all these things to you. It is not I that speak to you but the Words come of Him that saved me, by the Holy Spirit that has come. Here we are to expect tribulation, because this world has not known GOD. They stand for their own will in things, they conspire for gain and give heed that Mammon will bless them in all things. But we are kept by the Lord our GOD. From His hand we receive that which we have need for. Who can look at his budget and wonder how he eats? If not by GOD, then how am I alive? For I have things, which my wallet cannot pay for. If rain is needed then rain is sent, and so too is it withheld for the purposes of GOD. Without trial, man will not seek out GOD, for if a man is not troubled, he seek not salvation out. So has trial become a merciful thing from GOD, that we may call on His Name and be satisfied. The Lord knows what we need, the Spirit cries out to the Lord and makes intercession for us at God's Throne. Christ said, we do not have because we do not ask. And when we ask, we speak in vanities. By the Spirit are we known, if we believe or whether we stand in rebellion.

Who writes a letter to himself? Who can say a word, he did not know before he uttered it? If not known, then it is not of him. Then he hears another. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12) By whom then are words spoken, if not from the Holy Spirit, then by another. If then by another, then misled by that which is rampant in this world. So, friends; the separation comes by the Spirit. By the Spirit of GOD are we nudged not to partake of wicked things. And if not guided by the Holy Spirit in righteousness, then have we become the children of disobedience. Know then who the true enemy is, just as we read in Ephesians 6:12. Knowing that a man does not bring harm to another of himself alone, but conspires with dark things, listening to whispering spirits that seeks man's harm. The enemy performs from behind a veil, enticing man with the desires of his flesh. If then not of self alone, then man is held captive and in need of Salvation by the LORD.

So we proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that man does not have to perish, but is afforded the gift of Salvation, to be freed from oppressive spirits. No house is left empty, for soon a spirit will find a place to dwell. By the Holy Spirit are we sealed as a vessel of GOD alone, then all these searching spirits can do is come knocking at a door that has been shut and sealed by the Blood of Christ for passover. As raging wolves they patrol around the perimeter, like dogs they scratch at the door, for if the Good Shepherd, the Strong Man if the House is not home, then can they come in.

We are not of this world, but in it. We sojourn here until we are redeemed back to GOD. And while we are here and filled with the Holy Spirit, we are as a house with Light inside in a dark and cruel night. Man hides himself from the Truth, like an ostrich, he thinks that, if he cannot see harm coming, then it does not exist. Then he will fall with his head stuck in the dust. For now, all that we can do is to proclaim the Salvation that has come in Jesus Christ, but each man must believe in himself, that Christ is the Son of GOD that came to take away the sin of the world.

Read this chapter again. Hear the Words of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Believe on Him.

From a Brother in the Faith

1 Peter 4:16-19 KJV

[16] Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. [17] For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? [18] And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? [19] Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
