Hebrews 11

The Audio Version of today’s note

Hebrews 11:1-40 KJV

[1] Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [2] For by it the elders obtained a good report. [3] Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. [4] By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. [5] By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. [6] But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. [7] By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. [8] By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. [9] By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: [10] for he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. [11] Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. [12] Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. [13] These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. [14] For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. [15] And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. [16] But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. [17] By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, [18] of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: [19] accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. [20] By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. [21] By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff. [22] By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones. [23] By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment. [24] By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; [25] choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; [26] esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. [27] By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. [28] Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. [29] By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. [30] By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. [31] By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. [32] And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: [33] who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, [34] quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. [35] Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: [36] and others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: [37] they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; [38] (of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. [39] And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: [40] God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Note for 20241127

And we? We are called to Faith in Jesus Christ, to believe in Him as the Savior that GOD promised, even His own, only Begotten Son, so we would not perish but have everlasting life.

Seeing, then, what these mentioned here suffered through, but were delivered by The LORD, it should strengthen our faith. Because of what GOD has done we can be assured of His promised Salvation, even the promise of reward. It is written that the meek shall inherit the Earth and that the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous. Having our eyes on The Lord, our heart is to be in Him, to be where He is as His betrothed. I ask you this question; if promised to be where He is with Him, where then shall we be when He returns to rule on Earth? Who are the Saints on the White Horses that come with Him in Heaven at His return? See, Israel was promised the land of Canaan, who then is promised to rule and reign with Christ? The Kingdom of GOD is in you, He said. And on another occasion He said, don't you know that you will judge angels. But we are called to meekness, so we may be co-inheritors of the Earth as a reward of faith. We are to circumcise the heart, to walk in the righteousness of Christ, by the example He left for us and by His instruction. We are called to unity, not division. And the same said, judge not lest ye be judged even as we pray, forgive our trespasses, as we forgive those that trespass against us. What then is the shield of righteousness, which is the shield of faith, for in Abraham, his faith was accounted to him as righteousness and in the same faith are we called to be the children of Abraham, not having seen yet believing, blessed by the very lips of Christ Himself.

Friends, my faith in Jesus Christ our Savior, and our Father in Heaven, is not of my perfection by deeds of my own. The foundation of my faith is in the Love of GOD that He has shown. My faith is rooted in what GOD promised, for He is the Keeper of His Word and His covenants. If The Lord spoke it, if He gave His Word, it will be just as He spoke creation into being.

What then, if we believe as we claim to do, are the Words that were given regarding the time we are living in? Who will see destruction and who will be saved? We are called to life in Christ, the Lamb of GOD by the Blood of Christ are we separated from our sin. But what of the non-believer? What of him that does not stand in faith? What does the Word of GOD say of them? And yet, all that comes to faith is promised the Salvation in Christ Jesus. Why would I walk in my own way? Why would I seek my own will in things, when it is proven that GOD'S Will will be done? And the Will of GOD is that none will be lost, that all will repent of their transgressions and be saved. It requires Faith in the very same Lamb of GOD that He gave.

As I was saved by The Word of GOD, and as I am set apart from this world unto GOD, I preach the same Salvation as what Christ spoke of. Speaking of the Good News that saved me, that it will save you, in Christ as the Savior of Mankind, sanctified by ordination of GOD our Father, the Creator and Most High GOD. Suffering through the trials and tribulations of this life, in a world that does not Honor our God, but reject him even as this current ruler of a fallen world, rejected his office in heaven. They stand in rebellion against The Most High and are thus in league with their father, the one who started a rebellion in the Heavens.

Oh, I believe in the Word of GOD because it is sure, and side on the side of righteousness, for I have received of the Love of GOD our Creator. I seek not my will, but His, believing the Word that He gave.

What is your faith in then; a paycheck? A man or a woman? A parent or a child, maybe a friend? Is your faith in the law of man, or by the promise of a politician? No, friends; I will cast my lot with Christ Jesus the Son of GOD. For He will stand with me in the fire, He will calm the storms around me. He will bring bread down from heaven if I have need for it. He will bring the rains when it is due, and withhold it to get mankind's attention. He will do miracles, give signs and wonders, He will shake the earth and tear the heavens open to save His beloved children. He will hold time in place for a moment, even roll it back a few steps to confirm His Word. He will keep His Word, by the Power and the Strength that is in Him. He will give a wicked ruler over a wicked people and all along still bring those that trust in Him through safely to Him. He will collect me, even if it requires a fiery chariot of Heaven. The Lord is my Shelter, He is my Rock. I stand in this surety, because of the Love He has for us. He has forgiven me of my debt of sin, He is my Savior and my Protector. Blessed and Holy is the Name of our Most High GOD, the Father in Heaven of Christ and by Christ our Father in Heaven too. That is where my peace comes from, in faith in the Living GOD of all Creation.

Shalom.

Verse of The Day

From the YouVersion Bible App (Expanded from verse 8)

1 Peter 4:7-11 KJV

[7] But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. [8] And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. [9] Use hospitality one to another without grudging. [10] As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. [11] If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Note on 1 Peter 4:7-11

As we read here, we also keep in mind that which we just read in Hebrews 11. By faith in God are we able to accomplish this, by His strength.

Friends, writing here, I have come to know that it is of the Righteousness of Christ that I am able to perform this. It flows through me to you, but the origin is in Christ Jesus. By the Spirit of GOD can we testify of the Word of GOD. Seeking not glory for ourselves, for we testify that the good in us is of Him. Yes, we received before we can give, therefore, you are blessed also in what I received, as I will be edified by that which you received from the Lord. The Lord Jesus Christ remains the source of our peace. We stand here for Christ, as He stands for us at our Father in Heaven. We testify here on earth, He testifies from the Throne of GOD. We call the Lord our Savior, because as mankind we are desperately in need of such a Savior. We fall short of the Glory of GOD, but Christ will present to himself a perfect bride, without spot or wrinkle.

Shalom
