Matthew 7:15-29 KJV - Man is a Tree

[15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? [17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. [18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. [19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. [20] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. [24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. [26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [27] and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. [28] And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: [29] For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Note for 20241001

That then, the conclusion of our reading of the Sermon on the mount of our Lord Jesus Christ. Think about all that you have learned. These are the words of our Lord, even how He taught us to pray and what our conduct must be.

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." (verse 21)

Friends, there are many that will try and lead you to believe that there is no requirement to live a righteous life, but as you have seen here in the sermon on the mount, our righteousness is to exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees and scribes. A tree can only produce the fruit after its own kind, for the fruit to be different the tree itself must become a new creation. What is impossible for man, is possible for GOD and the new man is born of the Spirit of GOD.

Now you have read for yourself what the requirements of Heaven are. Who will then be permitted entry into the Kingdom of GOD?

Luke 17 KJV

[20] And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: [21] Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Fruit after its own kind comes from the tree, and yes! In this case man is compared with a tree. But in the field, man is compared to a seed, be that wheat or tare. Christ died for sinners, yes. Only he who can see his sin and repent can come before the Lord for forgiveness in humility. He that stands in pride, makes justifications and excuses for himself, denying the Salvation through Christ.

As I have now asked so many times, so I ask again. Do you believe what you read in the Word of GOD (All of it) and do you implement in your life, what you have learned?

I urge you to read the beatitudes in Matthew 5 again, to remind yourself of who the Lord will bless. Friends, we are in this world but not of it, we have a King in Christ Jesus. It is not a democracy, we serve our King. Don't be pulled into the ways of the world. We are the ambassadors of Christ in a godless world. The prime requirement of a witness of Christ, is the Love of GOD in us. We are not here to build up a kingdom to ourselves.

Seek first the Kingdom of GOD and His righteousness.
