Matthew 7 KJV

Matthew 7:7-14 KJV - The Narrow Way

[7]  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: [8] for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. [9] Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? [10] Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? [11] If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? [12] Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. [13]  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Note for 20240930

We don't have, because we do not ask. Oh Lord! Help us in our unbelief. And when we ask, what is it that we ask for? Sometimes we feel unworthy, because we fall short of the Glory of GOD. We forget so soon that we have a Father in Heaven that loves us.

Now, I will share with you my own belief for a brief moment. You see, before I pray for a mountain to be cast into the sea there better be a purpose for it. If it is not the Lord's will for me to have something, I prefer then to go without it. For the Father knows what we need and I am content with His measure for me. May His Name be Honored in all I have and do not have, even in my health. But, that does not mean that I do not believe; the Lord has brought me back from the threshold of death and healed me. Day by day I eat, when my bank account can not meet my needs. I have many that love me, help even comes from those who may be considered the enemy. Why would I disrupt a whole ecosystem demanding a mountain in the sea, if there is no purpose for it? Yet, when rain is needed, the Lord will send it, just as He sends my meat. The Lord's will be done, for GOD is love and His judgment is fair.

My attention is on the narrow way. And as I have spoken out about our political systems before, it serves the broad way, even in the way the votes of man is casted. We are in a world that works contrary to what Christ teaches us here at the sermon on the mount, how can I be content with that? The same Word we read here and now, also gives us that we should live in peace with all mankind. That our judgment must be fair and just. Why would I pray for something that will impede the spiritual growth of a fellow believer? Even if I must suffer along for their development. How would you know that it is the Lord Who provides for us, unless you come to the point where you can't help yourself? But, when all you have known before fails you and you still eat, then you come to see Who is the Bringer of all Bread. What does a bank full of money help, if GOD does not send rain to the crops of man? I know Who is my Provider, so if I must go without a little so you may be convinced of the same, then I consider it a worthy cause to fast. Salvation is about the soul of mankind. So, may that which is needed to save our souls come, by the will of GOD. His measure, not mine. So we pray for fish and bread, because we know that the Lord will give what is needed in the appointed time. Even if a raven should be needed to bring it to our table. For it is also written, that the Lord prepares a feast for us in view of our enemies. He is the Provider for them that Trust in Him. And if it be His will to let it rain on both the righteous and the wicked, then we are reminded of how merciful GOD is.

Shalom. GOD'S will be done.

Verse of The Day

(YouVersion - Expanded from Verse 13)

Ecclesiastes 12:8-14 KJV

[8] Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher; all is vanity. [9] And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs. [10] The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth. [11] The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd. [12] And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. [13] Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. [14] For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
