Revelation 3 KJV

[7] And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; [8] I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. [9] Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. [10] Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. [11] Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. [12] Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. [13] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Note for 20240831

Do you know what the Name Jerusalem means? It is "Foundation of Peace." The New Jerusalem then the New Foundation of Peace, the City of GOD that will descend from Heaven. What is the “New Jerusalem?” Now to answer that, we would have to jump forward in the Bible, towards the end of Revelation.

Revelation 21 (KJV)

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Tell me; do you want to be part of this new city? The New Foundation of Peace? It is the Church of Christ, the Bride. And that, is the New Foundation of Peace. Now we will learn more about this later when we do read this Chapter in full, but know, at least in part, what the promise is that Christ makes here for him who overcomes. Hold fast to that which you have, let no one take your crown. Keep the Word of Christ's peace, then He will keep you from the hour of temptation.

Matthew 5:9 (KJV)

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Read all of Matthew 5, friends. See the Word of GOD confirmed. Christ is still the same, His Word is True and dependable.

Do you only have a little strength? Keep the Word of GOD, do not deny His Name, even if you are persecuted for it. Even when you are not selected for that new position, or do not have the favor of people in this world. Hold on to what you have in Christ, and what you do, do it for Christ. Remember Matthew 25.

What is it to be a peacekeeper, friends? Is that not turning the cheek, walking that second mile, when one was requested of you? You see, when one is requested, you walk by the demand of it, but the second is a gift from you, to the one that stands in the likeness of an enemy. Love your enemy. Make the Word of GOD the foundation of your life. For then, you will have part in the Foundation of Peace, then, you are part of the City of GOD that John writes about in Revelation 21. How then shall you escape the hour of temptation? Now you know, it starts here on earth, having such a foundation of peace within you in Christ. The peacekeeper does not accuse, but forgives. Even like Stephen, as he was stoned to death. When you are struck across the face, do not strike back. Do not buy into this rule of this world that you become your own defender, but let the Lord be your vengeance, for He is a fair Judge. When a sinner stands before you, do not cast a stone, but remember that none of us is without sin. We are forgiven of our sin, so go ahead and forgive one another as you have been forgiven in Christ. That, my friends, is a peacekeeper. But, that can only come from the Love of GOD. It goes against the natural instinct of the flesh. Resist then the desires of your own flesh, for it is dark forces that commands the flesh. (Ephesians 6) It takes restraint and self-control to resist the urge to act out, but let that peace come from within, for we know that to think it is as good as to do it. So replace that, with the Love of GOD, have compassion on him that has no self-control, that has no love in him and who must fend for himself, because he stands in enmity with GOD for his rebellion. What I am saying is, don't become like this world, but stand in the light of Christ. Become Holy, for GOD is HOLY. The world may call you a fool, a wimpy person, but God will see you as a peacekeeper, and call you His child. What is true strength then? It is when you stand in the Word of GOD and believe in His Promises.
