1 John 2:1-29 KJV

[1] My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: [2] and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world. [3] And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. [4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. [5] But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. [6] He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. [7] Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. [8] Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. [9] He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. [10] He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. [11] But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. [12] I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. [13] I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. [14] I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. [15] Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. [16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. [17] And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. [18] Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. [19] They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. [20] But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. [21] I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. [22] Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. [23] Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. [24] Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. [25] And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. [26] These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. [27] But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. [28] And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. [29] If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

Note for 2024/08/17

There is no way around this chapter friends. It speaks clear and concise to the heart of all Spiritual matters. There is no need for further explanation, and now we all stand as-if naked before the Lord our God, having read the Truth, all is uncovered.

Yesterday, I asked, what have we learned in our journey through the Word of GOD? If anything, what is there in here that can be objected to? How then should we live and what receives our, "Amen?" What is anti-Christ? Look around you, what qualifies as anti-Christ according to John's definition? If the spirit of anti-Christ was at work back then, how much more today? Do we stand against anything that Christ has said? How many pages must we page pass, to do as this world does? What is our very own complicity, what remains that must be purged?

"And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments." Now read verse 1 and 2 again.

We are saved by grace, in the Love of GOD, for His own Name sake. I am not perfect yet, but I will be perfected in our Lord Jesus Christ. By His Blood that was poured out for me, making atonement with His sacrifice for all mankind. I agree with Christ, the Word of GOD; even when I am in the wrong, still stand I for Christ, even as it convicts me of my guilt of sin. For we have this Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous. Why then shall I continue in sin, as to make His sacrifice cheap.

I am not perfect yet, but will be on that day, for it is Christ Who will present us as His bride before Him, blameless. Our sin, He took upon Himself and paid the price of sin, which is death, in our stead. He stood instead of us, therefore is He our eternal Savior. Our correction and perfection is of Him. Why shall we then continue in our own way? We should walk in the way of our Beloved. Why live in such a way, as if it is our hand that holds the whip that He was struck by in our stead? He was bruised, His flesh torn from Him and ripped, so we may heal and be whole. He died, so we may live. And by the declaration of GOD Almighty, our Father in Heaven, if we believe in Jesus Christ, the only Begotten Son of GOD, then we shall not perish but have life everlasting. So we know Him, in what He has done for us. So do we know ourselves, that He had to do all of that for us, that we may be saved.

The receipt of payment of the price of sin, is sitting at the Right hand of GOD Almighty, friends. He is our full evidence that the payment is complete. Why then add to that cost, knowing He suffered for it?

Investigate yourself. Look deep into your own heart. Purge from yourself that which does not belong, by practicing self-control and pray to the Lord your God for strength, in the Name of Jesus Christ. He is both willing and able to help you unto all that is righteous. By the cross are we saved and by His stripes we are healed.

Shalom

Jude 1:20-23 KJV

[20] But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, [21] keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. [22] And of some have compassion, making a difference: [23] and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

From the Psalms

This morning’s contribution from Psalms was received from a brother in the Faith. Now, as you read through this, I want you to recall that Paul wrote of the wild olive branch that was grafted into the cultivated olive tree. In Christ, we are also made one with the people he came from in the flesh. This I only bring in remembrance, since we have read this already. The Bride is adopted into the family of the Groom by marriage, by the Name of her husband will she then be known.

Psalm 79:1-13 KJV

[1] O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; Thy holy temple have they defiled; They have laid Jerusalem on heaps. [2] The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, The flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth. [3] Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; And there was none to bury them. [4] We are become a reproach to our neighbours, A scorn and derision to them that are round about us. [5] How long, LORD? Wilt thou be angry for ever? Shall thy jealousy burn like fire? [6] Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, And upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name. [7] For they have devoured Jacob, And laid waste his dwelling place. [8] O remember not against us former iniquities: Let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: For we are brought very low. [9] Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: And deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake. [10] Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? Let him be known among the heathen in our sight By the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed. [11] Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; According to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die; [12] And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom Their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord. [13] So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: We will shew forth thy praise to all generations.
