2 Timothy 3:1-17 KJV

[1] This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. [2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, [4] traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; [5] having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. [6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, [7] ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. [8] Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. [9] But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. [10] But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, [11] persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. [12] Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. [13] But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. [14] But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; [15] and that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. [16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

"...Not because of who I am, but because of what You have done; not because of what I have done but because of Who You are..." Lord, I am Yours.

Just now, I was guided to go and listen to a live broadcast on the Global Gospel Radio Station. Just briefly, not even an entire song. I have no idea who is the singer, the writer or even the name of the song.

Are you ready in the Spirit? Do you know the voice of The Good Shepherd, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD Almighty? For, in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was GOD. For, GOD so loved the World that He sent His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, would not perish but have life everlasting. Friends, are you sheep in His flock?

Why do I ask you this, this morning? It is a response to the Word we have just read. To know that you know that your Salvation is secure in Christ Jesus. For, never before, I believe, has the words of this chapter been more obvious than in our current generation? Remember what you have just recently seen around you as you read these verses, even as the alarm bells go off in you, when you see the state of mankind. Yes! Even in some of the congregations of those who claim to move by and claim to call upon the Name of our Lord.

Friends, I have personally received bad reports on multiple occasions, of goings-on in those congregations that gather together in brick buildings. Attending the services, in some cases more apt to say performances, of those who claim to know our Lord. The same plays out each and every time, I am approached with questions on what to do about it.

Read here what was the report of Paul to Timothy, hear the words of warning and the advice of Paul. Not just in this chapter, but in the entire letter of 2 Timothy. Strange men have entered in amongst us; "...men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith." Don't be surprised if the Spirit in you shows you these things, but pray to the Lord, what He has as a task for you. For, some will be led to another to be fed of him, as Christ instructed Simon Peter to feed His flock. Others, will be instructed to stand in the gap, to persist and resist the working of devils, for the sake of GOD'S elect.

Friends, read here what Paul says to Timothy, please. Do not simply go along with the doctrines of such men. To Timothy, Paul says that He knows the doctrine that he has preached and the persecutions that he has faced. How can you stand in the gap, stand for the Truth of Christ if you yourself do not have knowledge of these things? Not all matters require a confrontation in a face to face manner, for some are assigned to endure the trouble that is coming their way, as if a trial by fire to purge their soul that it may be saved. But, do not call evil good, and good evil. Standing in the gap does not mean you approve of what they do. No, it is like buying time for man to come to his senses and repent of his wicked ways in the sight of the Living GOD.

Not long now, and those that have always been the enemy of the Lord will make their play against those called by the Name of our Lord. It is already at work in many places of gathering. Yes, these strange men with reprobate minds and the doctrines of devils, have attached themselves to those that stand in the charity of GOD. Unawares they have crept in, at first under the illusion that they requested help, in need of Salvation, when their plan has always been to subvert the church of Christ. Men, standing as puppets on a string, moved by unknown and dark forces; just as we read in Ephesians 6. What then to do? For Greater is He that is in me than he that is in this world, even he that stands as flesh as the representation of man, but driven by devils within. Read here the description of these men, what they stand for, in who they believe, for who they work in a carnal mindset.

For you as a brother or sister in the faith of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, this is the question I advise you to consider. Have you seen what Paul describes here?

Friends, it is time for us to take our eyes off from men who nominate themselves as leaders. It is time to follow the One in which we can trust with all confidence. Read the word for yourself, be fed of the Spirit of GOD in your inner room, so that when you attend these churches you go to feed and not to eat. If you can not feed the sound doctrine, then it is best for you to know in wisdom, to be silent. Be fed of the Holy Spirit of GOD, by the Word of GOD. Follow Christ and no other. Neither, request others to follow you, for if you, per adventure, fail in something, you may lead those that follow you down a wrong path. Instead, set them on the Lord your GOD, for where men fail, the Lord will not. The Lord is my Salvation and so is the Lord yours. Keep the watch and pay attention to what is preached as the Gospel, testing it in the Word of GOD. How then will you do this, if you do not know the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ?

Look here, these men go after knowledge. They are not following the Lord, but they are gluttons of knowledge. Learning always without discernment of rightly dividing the Word. By their fruit shall you know them, and the Lord said "Love your enemy." What then to do, but pray to the Lord your God for wisdom in these things. For no man can stand against the devil on his own. NO! We need to be covered by the Blood of Christ.

If all of mankind have gone after these corrupted teachings, will you suffer the same fate? If not born again into the Spiritual man, if the old man is not laid down with Christ in the grave, how well then are you equipped for what Paul writes on here to Timothy?

Do you congregate with mankind to experience the presence of the Lord? Don't you know that the Kingdom of GOD is in you, don't you know that GOD is near? It is the Lord that said to go into your inner room and call upon His Name. It is the Lord that said if you seek Him, He shall be found of you. Why look to a man, much like yourselves, when you desire nearness with the Lord? Call on His Name, invite Him into your own heart, then the Lord will be with you where you are. Call on the Lord and resist the devil that moves the flesh. Oppose the desires of the flesh, for in so doing, you are resisting the requests of devils. For no flesh can enter into the Kingdom of GOD, the flesh is corrupt, even in a fallen state. Be quickened of the Lord, for GOD is Spirit and God is Love. Be Holy, for GOD is HOLY. Yes, God is set apart from iniquity, there is no guile in Him.

If I could in good conscience lead you on the right way, I would. Such are my intentions. But, because I know that I can fail at times still, it is best you place your gaze on Christ. For He is willing and wholy able to deliver you from all, as he has delivered me from mine. As I trust the Lord for my salvation, I trust the Lord for yours. But, do not place your trust in a man that is unverified as yet.

Friends, it is because I believe what is written in the Word of GOD that I give you caution of who you follow. Be fed of GOD, by the Word of GOD. Don't reduce your Spiritual food to take aways on Sundays. Receive your daily Bread, as if, manna from Heaven. Meet with the Lord daily, so you may sup with Him and He with you. Then, go to the congregation of the saints that you can feed the poor in Spirit. Give rather than to receive. Yourself, be fed of the Word of GOD as your daily Bread. Go to the Lord in your inner-room. And, on top of that, and this is by personal advice, give the first fruits of your day to The Lord. Yes! Let your day begin with God, then He will remain with you all the day long.
