Note for 2024/07/30 - Hebrews 4:1-16 KJV - The LORD is my Provider

Hebrews 4:1-16 KJV

[1] Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. [2] For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. [3] For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. [4] For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. [5] And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. [6] Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: [7] again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts. [8] For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. [9] There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. [10] For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. [11] Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. [12] For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. [13] Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.  [14] Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. [15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. [16] Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Note for 2024/07/30

Friends, how would you then cease from your own works, that you may enter into this peace that GOD gives? Selah.

James wrote, faith without works is dead. The attention is then on the "own" works. For consideration, are the works that we must do then not the works of GOD, by the Holy Spirit of GOD unto all those that GOD loves? Yes, not for our own benefit, not in gain for self, but beneficial for the body of Christ, which is the church. A church, not of brick and mortar, but consisting of the Living building blocks of the Bride of Christ. Love thy neighbour as thyself.

What then of “love thy enemy?” Selah.

The love of GOD that was poured out into us in the Holy Spirit is the very source from which we are to feed his sheep, as Christ instructed Peter. To cease from your own works, is to do the will of GOD, which is brought to us by the Holy Spirit, sent from GOD our Father in the Name of Jesus Christ His Son. Are we not to walk by the Spirit?

Friends, every time you are moved by the Holy Spirit to do a work, you are laying down your own will, to do the will of GOD. To cease from your own works is to do the works that comes by the inspiration of the Word of GOD, that was placed in you by the Holy Spirit of GOD, in the Name of Jesus Christ, who is the Word of GOD, just as John wrote that the Word of GOD was made flesh in the coming of Jesus Christ unto us in the flesh, which the author, here in this chapter, reaffirms. When you cease from your own works, the inner man, postures himself as a bowing man before the Throne of GOD, where our High Priest, Jesus Christ our Savior, intercedes for us before our Father in Heaven who is the Almighty Creator. Then we can enter into the peace of GOD, for then we are no longer in contention with God, but allies of GOD working to the Will of GOD, that is that none should perish but all be saved, just as we learn in John 3:16.

Here in this world, to gain almost always means that another must lose. Now, do you truly lose, if you give in a way of charity, giving freely as a gift? That is like giving someone money for a product, and then leaving that same product with the person you bought it from as a gift. Give, then, without expectation of return. That is a gift. Loving your enemy, that hates you, has no promise of return. Christ died on the cross for sinners, that was a gift too. Such a gift, for when He died for us, we were still adversaries to the Will of GOD. Before we accepted that gift of Christ, we were, as enemies of GOD, but in acceptance, we have become friends of Christ and called to do the will of GOD. So by the Holy Spirit we can do the will of GOD.

God is our Provider, He replenishes us. So the rain comes, that is, replenishment from GOD. The planted fields give in increase, the gain received is of GOD, as it is with livestock. But, the wicked takes from others without increasing the source it came from. Yes, that is robbery and theft. Who takes a life, cannot restore it to anyone.

I cannot forget what I have learned from GOD, that if I have knowledge that a scale is unjust, that I must permit the favor of that scale to fall to my brother. And all that comes from Adam are brothers, for by Mary, even Christ comes from Adam. All created in the image of GOD are a brother and a sister. GOD is Spirit. GOD is Holy. GOD is love. By their fruit shall you know them.

We must keep in remembrance the story Christ told of the Prodigal Son. While still lost, there are many that will return to their Father in Heaven, received and honored, forgiven and given a cloak of glory. For we were lost once too, so in kindness we can extend the Love of GOD unto all the lost sheep that must still be found. So must we labor in love, even in the love of GOD.

To do the will of GOD does not just come by agreement in the hearing of the Truth. No! It requires to live according to that alignment with the Will of GOD in the Spirit. That is to live in righteousness. And by the Holy Spirit of GOD in us, we can know the Will of GOD, for the Spirit came from the free gift of GOD in Jesus Christ. So is the righteousness in us of Christ, and if then from Christ, Who is the Son of GOD; then from GOD Himself. A gift given freely to those who were once against Him.

We can only give what we have to give. As we received, so can we give. As we are replenished, we can give again. It is just like the rain that comes and falls upon our heads. It drips to the ground and flows on to the sea. It evaporates to join up with the clouds, just to fall upon our heads again. Let the gift of LOVE, that rained down on us from GOD, flow to others. For we will be replenished, it is the way GOD'S creation works. Don't be a dam wall storing up everything just for yourselves. If it flows, then everyone can receive as they have need.

Shalom.

YouVersion Bible Verse of the Day

Joshua 1:8 KJV

[8] This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

From Psalms and Proverbs

Psalm 94:1-23 KJV

[1] O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself. [2] Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: Render a reward to the proud. [3]  LORD, how long shall the wicked, How long shall the wicked triumph? [4]  How long shall they utter and speak hard things? And all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? [5] They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, And afflict thine heritage. [6] They slay the widow and the stranger, And murder the fatherless. [7] Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, Neither shall the God of Jacob regard it. [8] Understand, ye brutish among the people: And ye fools, when will ye be wise? [9] He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see? [10] He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? He that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know? [11] The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, That they are vanity. [12] Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, And teachest him out of thy law; [13] That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit be digged for the wicked. [14] For the LORD will not cast off his people, Neither will he forsake his inheritance. [15] But judgment shall return unto righteousness: And all the upright in heart shall follow it. [16] Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? [17] Unless the LORD had been my help, My soul had almost dwelt in silence. [18] When I said, My foot slippeth; Thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. [19] In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul. [20] Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, Which frameth mischief by a law? [21] They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, And condemn the innocent blood. [22] But the LORD is my defence; And my God is the rock of my refuge. [23] And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; Yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.

Proverbs 27:1-3 KJV

[1] Boast not thyself of to morrow; For thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. [2] Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; A stranger, and not thine own lips. [3] A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; But a fool's wrath is heavier than them both.
