Note for 2024/07/21 - Titus 2-3 KJV - Shaped by the Word of GOD
Titus 2-3 KJV
2:
[1] But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: [2] that the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. [3] The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; [4] that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, [5] to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. [6] Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. [7] In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, [8] sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. [9] Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; [10] not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. [11] For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, [12] teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; [13] looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; [14] who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. [15] These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

3:
[1] Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, [2] to speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. [3] For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. [4] But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, [5] not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; [6] which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; [7] that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. [8] This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. [9] But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. [10] A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; [11] knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself. [12] When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter. [13] Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them. [14] And let our's also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful. [15] All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen. It was written to Titus, ordained the first bishop of the church of the Cretians, from Nicopolis of Macedonia.

Note for 2024/07/21
Today, I have grouped Titus 2 and 3 together for reading. It must really be read together with Chapter 1 too, but I did not want to overwhelm you. Each person reading may find something that stands out for them specifically.
Now, there are a few things written here, supported in other texts too, that are not upheld anymore. The guidance of the young by the elders of the church, and what they have to teach. How can someone teach what he himself does not know? No, today the young are taught to be successful in the world, expensive education in the worldly ways in their doctrines and the opinions of mankind. We know how the Word of GOD has been pushed out of education and what did we do? Have we compromised? Did we barter with Satan?
I remember hearing something when I was younger, and must admit, the memory is vague, so I will have to tell it as best I can. It is about someone questioning a sculpture and how he manages to sculpt a horse from a piece of rock. The answer was simple, "Oh!" He said, "You simply remove the parts that are not a horse."
As we grow up, a process similar to this takes place in our life. The question is, who holds the sculpting instruments in the hand? Are we formed in the shape of Christ, or is everything that is of Christ chipped away from us to resemble something else? I want you to think about that, as you read the Word of GOD. What is removed in the process of sanctification and deliverance? If something in the Word of GOD is rejected, the image is disfigured, blemished.
By their fruit shall you know them.
There is not much more to say. What do you resemble, what is the makeup of your moral compass? What do you look like, standing in a mirror that reflects your inner-self?
Here, in the Book of Titus, but really throughout the entire Bible, we learn what GOD approves of and what not. Then, we are indeed blessed by the mercy and grace of GOD, for He gave Christ to be the Way for us. Should we then not mold ourselves after Him?
If there is anything good to think about, this is it. In whose likeness do you stand?

Verse of the Day (Expanded)
Matthew 18:15-20 KJV
[15] Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. [16] But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. [17] And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. [18] Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. [19] Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. [20] For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Finally:
I ask again, in whose likeness do you stand? For, Christ also said that we must love our neighbor as ourselves, and taught us to also pray this, “forgive us our transgressions as we forgive them that transgress against us.”
Do not just stand in lip-service and masks.
James 2:26 KJV
[26] For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Stand in the likeness of Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD Almighty.
