Note for 2024/07/19 - 1 Timothy 6:1-21 KJV - Shelter from the Storm
1 Timothy 6:1-21 KJV
[1] Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. [2] And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort. [3] If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; [4] he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, [5] perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. [6] But godliness with contentment is great gain. [7] For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. [8] And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. [9] But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. [10] For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. [11] But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. [12] Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. [13] I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; [14] that thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: [15] which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; [16] who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. [17] Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; [18] that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; [19] laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. [20] O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: [21] which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. The first to Timothy was written from Laodicea, which is the chiefest city of Phrygia Pacatiana.

Note for 2024/07/19
It is not money itself that is the root of all evil, but the love of it, as we have just read. Greed, but more than just greed. For it is easy then, to think more of yourself than you ought to. Yes, then you can even become unapproachable, high minded and envying more than what is sensible. Pride, leading to a fall, partaking in activities that are not good for the soul. Money can be mistaken as a savior, when your trust is on the purse rather than in The LORD. But, it is not money itself, it is the love of it.
So, what is all this running around for money? It seems that everything now passes through the hands of Mammon. But, money can also be used for good, to bring relief for the saints. The world has become money focused, and it is basically all that is accepted in exchange. But these things are still obvious, isn't it? It makes it a little harder to live by faith. Faith, maybe yes; but, in what is that faith based? What is financial ruin? What keeps the money lenders content? Have you not heard, have you not read, that the one who borrows is a slave to him that lends.
Friends, what happens when all bills payable, becomes due in one moment? What does the world look like then? What if, the way we transact with one another, changes in one moment, just as we read in Revelations? Debt is a dangerous thing, it keeps the one who owes another in chains by it. I am not a financial advisor, not at all; but what are you working for? Or shall I ask, for whom are you working? Is anything ever enough? Where does your hard-earned money flow to? That is something to consider deeply with wisdom. For what is your money employed?
Friends, a change is coming. Surely, by now, you that stand in the faith have been nudged by the Holy Spirit. Are you prepared for it? Can you walk away from your bank account, never looking back again? Read for yourself in Revelations what the system of the beast is attached to. It is indeed in buying and selling. I have often asked you in the past, do you believe in what you read in the Word of GOD? My question then: Is your security based on income, or in the Lord our GOD?
If you then have financial wealth, use it as a tool for good works. Try to remember that the right hand should not know what the left is doing. Don't build up pride with it, but mercy and grace. Don't you know that you have been blessed so you can bless others? Who will bring relief for the poor, if the rich man's hands are clenched closed tightly? How will the ministry for Christ continue, if not helped along? Matthew 25:31-46, again; what you have done for the least of these, you have done for Christ. As Solomon also wrote, to give to the poor is to lend to GOD.
When the harsh Sun comes, who will provide shelter for the poor? Who gives the resources, and who will build it? If this is not in mind, have you then not understood what you have read? For the next judgment of the Lord, comes by a fire storm. (Malachi 4)
In Matthew 25, the one that says, "My Lord has delayed his coming," who is it? And if said, "My Lord..." is it a non-believer? So I ask you, do you think our Lord Jesus Christ has delayed His return? Have you somehow neglected to be ready at each moment? For it is written that no one knows the hour or the day, except our Father in Heaven. Is it not written that Christ will return like a thief in the night, in the hour you think not that he will come? And yet is it an appointed day, none of us knowing. But the season, can we know that? Then, look around you, keep a watch for that first. How well prepared are you then? Is your soul ready to meet its Maker? For every knee shall bow, and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Shalom

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 KJV
[9] Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. [10] For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. [11] Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? [12] And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
