Note for 2024/07/11 - ‭Philippians 1:1-30 KJV‬ - The Ark of our Salvation

‭Philippians 1:1-30 KJV‬

[1] Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: [2] grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.  [3] I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, [4] always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, [5] for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; [6] being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: [7] even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. [8] For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. [9] And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; [10] that ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; [11] being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. [12] But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; [13] so that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; [14] and many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. [15] Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: [16] the one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: [17] but the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. [18] What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. [19] For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, [20] according to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. [21] For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. [22] But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. [23] For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: [24] nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. [25] And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; [26] that your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again. [27] Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; [28] and in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. [29] For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; [30] having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

Note for 2024/07/11

What have I to add, in myself, to the Word of GOD? Nothing, for I am a man; but by the Holy Spirit, the Word of GOD is offered up to us, reminding us of the words of Christ, revealing the will of GOD in us. So have the Holy Spirit in us become the comforter just as Christ Jesus said, sent of the Father in Heaven, in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and His Son. So we say, "Amen" in the confirmation of what we read and what is in us by the Same Spirit.

Do we then live by the Righteousness of Christ? Do we obey His commandments? And as we read of Paul here; is it whether we live or die for the Gospel of Jesus Christ? In all things, whose will is done and does our choices reflect the will of GOD? Are we to love GOD halfway, or for 5 minutes in prayer? Or is every choice brought before the LORD, who reigns in us? Whose will then is done, by our words and deeds? Do we stand for what is right, or do we go along with whatever this world presents? When we see, do we see by the Holy Spirit? When we hear is it by the Spirit of unity in Christ, that works for the Salvation of all that believe in Him? Does all we do, work together unto the peace of the Lord? Is our choice here on earth, reflecting the Will of GOD, even as it is in Heaven? What discomfort do we stand in for our faith in Jesus Christ, are we bound like Paul? So, I guess, the question is; does our lives testify of Jesus Christ and our Father GOD in Heaven? Or do we live by compromises, to save our own skin? What is integrity, friends? What makes our yes, yes; and our no, no?

Some of you will receive this message in the morning and some will not read it until later tonight. Some will discover this in the very moment it is needed, while many will not read it at all. Yes, indeed, I am aware of those that pass on the opportunity, not by name, but by gesture. For I have been shown how some just sweep the message to the side. I also know of those that await the message each day with anticipation. And I say again, the scripture in highlight here, is the purpose for the message. For many, this is the only way they can be led through the written Word of GOD. So, yes I know, it is even the greater purpose of these daily notes to find you. It serves as a reminder of the Word of GOD for you. Yes, and for me; for I am guided too, by the Same Spirit from the Love of GOD unto the Salvation of all mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The world that we are in, does not function in righteousness, my friends. It is not your friend. It functions by lies and all forms of deceit, which will be exposed in God's appointed time. But, this comes with a warning, does the Mercy of GOD work in you? Are the wicked afforded the same forgiveness as you received of GOD, should they repent? For mercy is unto the merciful, forgiveness unto those that forgive; yet shall those who live by the sword die by the sword. What then is self-defense? Read here in today's scripture; offense should not be in us. Vengeance, friends, belongs to The LORD. He is our Savior. I know this world promotes all its heroes, and romanticizes heroic acts, but we have only One Hero, friends, and that is GOD, even Christ whom He has sent as our Savior. Is the church not the Body of Christ Jesus? So, as we stand for the poor and defenseless, Christ stands for us. Our faith in Him is our Ark of Protection, that keeps us in the Will of GOD, in life and death.

Trust then in the LORD, and journey through this life by His direction. Yes, consult the LORD in everything, even laying down your weaknesses at the cross of Christ. For I have faced both life and death, and both are now in testimony of the Glory of our Father GOD in Heaven and of Christ, His only Begotten Son, our Savior. Our Salvation is the fulfillment of Prophecy too, do you understand? The Word of GOD will be kept by GOD Himself.

So, we can choose who we trust, it is a freewill choice. Who will you trust, yourself? Another man standing in self-interest, or GOD above, who loved us so much that He gave His Only Begotten Son, so we may live? The choice is yours, in each moment, by each word and each act. Who will you then live for? Your reward, even your life itself depends on it. For many, their error will be discovered too late. The Word of GOD comes to us, even as prophecy, of what is to come, so we may know what is to come before it does, so we can choose with the future in sight.

Shalom

“Extra Credit” Reading

For those who have the time to read a little more, here is what was forwarded from a brother in the faith.

‭Amos 8:1-14 KJV‬

[1] Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and behold a basket of summer fruit. [2] And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more. [3] And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith the Lord GOD: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth with silence. [4] Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail, [5] saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit? [6] That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat? [7] The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works. [8] Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt. [9] And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day: [10] and I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day. [11] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: [12] and they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. [13] In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst. [14] They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beer-sheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.

‭Amos 9:1-15 KJV‬

[1] I saw the Lord standing upon the altar: and he said, Smite the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in the head, all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the sword: he that fleeth of them shall not flee away, and he that escapeth of them shall not be delivered. [2] Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down: [3] and though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them: [4] and though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good. [5] And the Lord GOD of hosts is he that toucheth the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt. [6] It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name. [7]  Are ye not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? saith the LORD. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir? [8] Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD. [9] For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth. [10] All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us. [11] In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: [12] that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this. [13] Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. [14] And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. [15] And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.
