‭Ephesians 6:1-24 KJV‬

[1] Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. [2] Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; [3] that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. [4] And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. [5] Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; [6] not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; [7] with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: [8] knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. [9] And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him. [10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. [11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. [12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. [13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. [14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; [15] and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; [16] above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. [17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: [18] praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; [19] and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, [20] for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. [21] But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things: [22] whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts. [23] Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. [24] Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. That then, the conclusion of the epistle of Paul to the church in Ephesus. And it ends on this High Note, on the Armor of GOD. Of course, the very well known verse, that we struggle not against flesh and blood, included. A famous section for believers, with many sermons on it available. But, do not forget the start of this chapter friends, on the relationship between fathers and children, respect for your parents and then also the relationship between masters and servants. I suggest you read carefully for that too.

Due to the importance, it is necessary to write on who the enemy of mankind is, and this armor of GOD mentioned here.

What is the respect of person written of? Does your values and compliance change based on who stands in front of you or who you think you labor for? Or, is your conduct consistent? What are special favors then, and what of the VIP treatment we have become so accustomed to see? Is our yes, yes; and our no, no; or does it still depend on who is asking?

We struggle not against flesh and blood, because the physical is driven by the spiritual. Just as we who have received the Holy Spirit from GOD in the Name of Jesus Christ, are led by the Holy Spirit, so too are those that refused Christ driven by spirits that are contrary to Christ. Just as there is a Spiritual hierarchy of light in Heaven, so is there an order in darkness, of princes and principalities and strongholds. Now, it is not necessary for us to know of darkness, just that it is true and does exist; but surely we must know of the Light in GOD our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Who then is moved by himself only? The Bible is full of accounts of this, even with legion and even with the donkey speaking to Balaam. Angels are mentioned all through the Word of GOD, even though Satan will present himself as an Angel of light. To understand a little more, the books of Jude and James are helpful, but too much for just one day, so please investigate that if you are so led by the Spirit of GOD.

The matter before us today, is to make note that there is the working of Spiritual things within our reality, and the Word of GOD confirms it. Even that no flesh can enter into the Kingdom of GOD, which to some is still a mystery.

Remember Genesis 6, when the sons of God (Angels) left their estate and took wives for themselves from the daughters of man? You know, those fallen angels that Jude spoke of, then man became violent and was evil all the time. So much so that GOD destroyed the entire world, save Noah and his family. These fallen ones, what became of them, since there was no salvation plan for their spirits? What about, no man is tempted to sin less the desire is first in his heart. You can not tempt me with something that will lead to my death, like something I may be highly allergic to, but that which I love, that presents a problem, and so is it with sin. And don't be deceived, sin does lead to death, which is why Christ died on that Cross for us in substitution for us.

So, if you then believe what you read, and the nature of these fallen spirits manifest in others by possessions; who then do you struggle against, but the spirit that directs the flesh? And if it is not for Christ, then it is against Christ, even instead of Christ. And as the Holy Spirit reveals to us the will of GOD and reminds us of the teachings of Christ, so are the unbelievers led by other spirits. It is of that which we struggle with, even oppression of us that came by the flesh is motivated by the spirits by suggestions and temptations. So he, or she, that comes against you, is coming against you by that which rules them. Remember the words of Christ, that if a spirit is driven out and finds no place to rest, he will come back with seven stronger than himself? You see, the Word is consistent if it is Inspired by the Holy Spirit which is of Christ. So then, he that comes against you, that you may have given respect of person (the flesh) is really, then, one who is in trouble, occupied, possessed and deceived by that which is riding him like one would a horse. When Christ delivered and healed those He met, he said, "Go and sin no more." That is the liberty in Christ, that you be moved by the Spirit that loves you and not those who hate you. For understanding, see it then as jealousy, for GOD established a Salvation plan for those born of His Will, but damnation for those that came by abominations, written of in Genesis 6. Understand the nature of those destroyed by the flood, when all flesh became corrupted; and with that, understand what is now in the Spirit that makes war on mankind still.

Hence, the whole armor of GOD. To defend against what? What does the text say here? To remain standing against the wiles of the Devil. What is lust? What is envy? What is rage and hate? What, thinks about murder? The person you see is under something that binds them to ungodly things. If Christ is our Deliverer, what does he deliver us from? When we are redeemed, from what and where?

Now, on the armor, it is not simply by prayer alone. No, armor must be put on, you must wear it. Are you girded by the Truth if you are in the habit of lying? Are you protected by righteousness if you walk in sin? Do you have Salvation if you do not believe it, do you have faith in Christ if you walk in the ways of this world? What still of the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of GOD, just as the Holy Spirit was sent unto us in the Name of Jesus Christ, who is the Word of GOD. What then if you do not know the Word of GOD? And if you do not spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, if you do not testify for him, how is your walk then validated in the Lord? What help is it, if you deal with the fire you found, but never take away the matches from the arsonist? That is, binding the devil and his works.

It is not just about knowledge, for even the devils knew who Christ is. No! It is about walking in the knowledge of Christ, by the Word of GOD the Father who sent Christ unto us. Just as the Holy Spirit was poured out on us by our Father in Heaven in the Name of Jesus Christ. The Name above all Names. The Name of our King and our Deliverer. Our Savior, our Hope, even our very lives.

How do we have peace without the Lord? And still I say...
