Note 2024/07/24 - 1 Peter 3:1-22 KJV - As a Deer
1 Peter 3:1-22 KJV
[1] Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; [2] while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. [3] Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; [4] but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. [5] For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: [6] even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. [7] Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. [8] Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: [9] not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. [10] For He that will love life, And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips that they speak no guile: [11] Let him eschew evil, and do good; Let him seek peace, and ensue it. [12] For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, And his ears are open unto their prayers: But the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. [13] And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? [14] But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; [15] but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: [16] having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. [17] For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. [18] For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: [19] by which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; [20] which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. [21] The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: [22] who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

Note 2024/07/24
Friends, the Word says what it says, and I must ask you again if you believe in what you read? What requires an excuse or justification, when the Word reaffirms itself over-and-over.
Are you offended? Do we trust in man's opinion or the Word of GOD? Have we somehow become too modern minded, or has the Bible become dated? This is what the Inspired Word says itself, and the man of sin would rather not have it say what it does. If you stand in a contrary opinion, Who are you contrary too? A man or GOD? It remains your choice. So, as far as these matters of contention among us goes, I stand with the Word of GOD, because it is sure the will of GOD.
Let us then look at a verse within this chapter, I give it again for emphasis.
[18] For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Who is it that gets offended? Who resists what is good in the sight of GOD? Who rebels against the Living GOD, and the Word He gave us? I ask questions, because the Spirit in you, if it be of GOD, will give you the correct answer and it shall be confirmed in the written Word then, for it is of the Same Spirit. If not; who then is the deceiver? Who stands in rebellion to GOD? What are the weeds sown in the field by the enemy, if the good wheat sown is the Word of GOD, as Christ revealed to His disciples? Who is the prince of the fallen world, who reigns it now and who offered it to Christ if He should bow before him? Who is the enemy of GOD? Who is the father of all lies and deceit? You see; if you can identify the liar, then you know who to resist and according to the Word of GOD, if you resist him, he shall flee. Resist then. Put the flesh in submission of the quickened Spirit. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against that which commands it contrary to the will of GOD. God is love, then where does hate come from, which is contrary to love.
There was a time for milk in your faith, the sweet things that build it up, and remain the foundation of our faith in the love of GOD. But, as the body matures, the soul must too, and with it our faith must grow strong and powerful in GOD too. So as you have drunk the milk as a young believer, now you must also partake of the steak as a maturing believer; knowing right from wrong, and walking on in righteousness. For where you stand in disagreement to the Word of GOD, your armor is made weak, affording the enemy of GOD to have a target. Yes, it is a kink in the armor, a weak spot that needs mending and correction. Go then forth, protected and strong, in Christ, Whom is the manifested Word of GOD.
If we stand contrary to one another, if we do not stand in one accord, then that will bring arguments which leads to divisions. You yourself have seen this at work. But when we stand in one mind we become strong, if our strength is based in Christ. Shall we then remain in the divisions that remain amongst us, or unite by the Word of GOD? Do we stand by man's opinions, or the sure Word we were given by GOD? For where we differ from each other, know this first; just in division alone do we stand against the instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who can then still say, "I am right?"
Man loves to debate, I have no interest in it. The Word stands senior to even my own thoughts and ideas. Yes, I will bend my own ideas to fit the Word of GOD, for I am a man that can go into error, but the Word of GOD is sure.
How then are we quickened in the Spirit? How is the flesh put to death? As Christ substituted Himself upon that cross for us. The just for the unjust, who then stood for the poor in Spirit?
Help us LORD, in our unbelief, bring us to Your Truth. Amen.
Shalom

About Prayer
Luke 11:1-4 KJV
[1] And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. [2] And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. [3] Give us day by day our daily bread. [4] And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

Mark 1:35 KJV
[35] And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
