‭Acts 20:1-3 KJV‬

[1] And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia. [2] And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece, [3] and there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.

Note please: These three verses in Acts, in succession, come before the Book of Romans, and follow 2 Corinthians 13.

‭Romans 1:1-17 KJV‬

[1] Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, [2] (which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) [3] concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; [4] and declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: [5] by whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: [6] among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: [7] to all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.  [8] First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. [9] For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers; [10] making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you. [11] For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; [12] that is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. [13] Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles. [14] I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. [15] So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. [16] For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. [17] For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Note on 2024/06/04

Friends, I have no idea how many of you have been following along since we started this journey through the Word of GOD in an "as it happened" kind of reading. Sometimes, I think to myself how it might be, if I had the opportunity to see you before me. But, I trust that the LORD had His purpose for the way He structured it for us to do this. When Paul speaks of his longing to be with the churches he is writing to, I am moved too; for I myself have such a hope to see you.

Permit me a short moment to just clarify some information to you. I do not know how far these words that I am led to write, travel. The fire is lit here in my inner room, and permitted to spread as the Lord wills it. You are thus not just permitted to send it on to others, but encouraged to do so, as you are led by the Holy Spirit. The message is mostly directed to the church of Jesus Christ, to those who have already been joined to us in the self same Spirit of our LORD.

Friends, try not to haste through the scriptures that are highlighted, please. Read it carefully, in the Spirit, as the Word is to be received by the Spirit. Pay attention to Paul's greeting here to the Romans, how he spoke with endearment, for He was a Roman too. Do not miss who was chief amongst those that pursued him, who are named here as the Jews. Now, it is also important that it is known that it was not all Jews, but those who hated Christ Jesus our Lord, who sees our faith in Jesus as a form of idolatry. Friends, have compassion with them, for remember, they have been blinded by the Lord not to see the Salvation that Paul is so passionately sharing with us in these epistles. After all, Paul was a Jew too, a trained Pharisee. Remember also, that there were those, then and also now, that say they are Jews, but are not Jews. So did Christ speak of the synagogue of Satan. Much of what is written in the New Testament can only be understood if understood Spiritually. The outward appearance of a man does not necessarily reflect the inner parts of a man, some show themselves outwardly in one way, but inwardly they may stand in service to the enemy. So too, did the prophet say (I will see if I can find the mention of it and highlight it for you) that it is a circumcision of the heart that the Lord requires. Even as Paul writes elsewhere, that through our faith like Abraham have we become descendents of Abraham, for his faith was accounted to him as righteousness.

While there is much that could be written about this section in highlight, I deemed it necessary to clear up some matters with regard to our faith here too. The church of Jesus Christ is no denomination of a kind that all gather in the same building but those that believe as we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of GOD and our Savior. The true church, thus, gathers Spiritually and by the self same Spirit are we joined to Christ Jesus, but also in a unity to each other. And as Christ is in the Father, and the Father in Christ, so are we then also standing in unity with the Father, but also to each other. This Union is of the Spirit in the Spirit and God is Spirit. GOD is love, and the Love of GOD perfectly shown to us in Jesus Christ, at the cross.

Now, read Paul's opening remarks to the Romans again. See if you understand how he makes the same clear in his greeting. The Word says that we must love the Lord our God with all our mind, all our heart and all our strength (which is the center of our soul,) and to love one another as we love ourselves. That which binds us together then, is the Agape love of GOD in us, which was brought to us as the Comforter that The Father poured out in us, in the Name of Jesus Christ, as He requested of the Father and was foretold by the prophets of GOD, who spoke by the same Spirit of GOD, that now reside in us.

Now, in conclusion for today; I wish to clarify again that it is of crucial importance for each of you to be immersed in the Word of GOD. The Word of GOD was made manifest in Jesus Christ among the Disciples of Christ, in the flesh. So John writes, in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was GOD.

Unlike Paul, I have not received training as a Pharisee, but in the Word of GOD, I was trained by the Holy Spirit in the Word of GOD. Here, in my inner room, where no man can lay claim that he trained me. The Lord called me into a separation and by the Holy Spirit was I trained up, and I am still in training, even as I write here do I learn. What the Lord has done for me, He will do for you. The Holy Spirit is promised to those that obey GOD. Without the Word of GOD, you will lack the Sword in the Armor of GOD.

So, friends, despite what this world may attempt to teach you; I bear witness that you should love the Truth, which is the Word of GOD. We learn to obey God through His Word, so will we recognize the Voice of our Lord. All that comes against you while you fill yourself with the Word of GOD is acting in the nature of the enemy, and remember, we do not struggle against flesh and blood, but against dark forces, just as is written in Ephesians 6.

May the Lord reveal Himself to you. May He be with you, guide you, protect you and correct you. May He provide for you from His Riches and Bless you. May your daily Bread be given, may you find rest in GOD as it is required, and the Holy Spirit indwell with you to bring you comfort that you may know the peace of GOD within.

Shalom

Verses do not stand in isolation of the Word of GOD, but are to be understood in context, yet communicate universal truths. It is thus best if each of these verses could be read in the context in which it was written too. If quoted correctly, the context in which the verse was written firstly, will lend to a greater understanding, why the verse is quoted in support of what is being discussed now.

Regardless of how much we learn in the Word of GOD, it is not a substitute for our first love, which is in Jesus Christ, and the love of GOD that was shown to us. Our Salvation is of GOD, because of GOD’s Love for us, that then the first love; that GOD loved us.

Shalom
