Note for 2024/06/30 - ‭Colossians 1:1-29 KJV‬ - Unity in Christ

‭Colossians 1:1-29 KJV‬

[1] Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother, [2] to the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. [3] We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, [4] since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, [5] for the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; [6] which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth: [7] as ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; [8] who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit. [9] For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; [10] that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; [11] strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; [12] giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: [13] who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: [14] in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:  [15] Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: [16] for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: [17] and he is before all things, and by him all things consist. [18] And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. [19] For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; [20] and, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. [21] And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled [22] in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: [23] if ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; [24] who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church: [25] whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; [26] even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: [27] to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: [28] whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: [29] whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

Note for 2024/06/30

Greetings, friends, to all my brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus Christ. And to those who are still lost in the world, "come home." Today's scripture moves in me, and my heart is full of hope for all that must still come into the faith in Christ Jesus our Lord and be joined to us as the Church of Jesus Christ.

Yesterday, I was asked a question about what an Apostle is, and I answered it as best I could at the time. So, for a fuller understanding, I found an article that is apt and provides the link to it for you to read if you have the same question in you.

But, with that considered, the more important questions of our faith are answered here by Paul in today's scripture. Though there are many offices in the church of Christ, all must work together for the Glory of GOD the Father and His Son Jesus Christ by the out-poured Holy Spirit of GOD, in us. Some are called in, while some are sent out; the ministry is not the same for all, yet do we all serve for the same. The mystery that was once hidden, now known to us, that by the will of GOD and the love of GOD, none should perish, but that all should be saved by their faith in the Lamb of GOD.

Never before has unity in Jesus Christ been so critical as it is at this time, the end times which the Prophets of GOD foretold, that when it came we should know the season we are standing in. We, as people in the flesh, not of the flesh but of the Spirit of GOD should not work in divisive ways, but preach unity in Christ Jesus. It is man that divides in classifications, making checklists of who get saved and who not, but how does that align with the Will of GOD, if His wish is that none should perish? How has man been called to make such decisions, that is GOD'S alone? We are divided by opinion and interpretations, in a doctrine unlike the doctrine of Jesus Christ. It is true that not all that says "Lord, Lord" will be permitted into the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, but we do not determine that. False doctrines have led people astray, and everyone has built their own structure on the foundation laid by Christ and His Apostles, and these structures shall be tested in fire, if they remain standing. Let the Fathers and the children then be reunited. Let us prove the structure of our faith against the Word of GOD in love. Yes, it is time to get back in the Word of GOD, and let that be the standard, not our opinions of that. We, who believe in Jesus Christ, should all have this in common, that Christ be the Head of us. That means; it is Christ that leads and we follow, His Word senior to every opinion of man. Enough debate, my friends. Look to the teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ. For there are many that have come into the Church, that walk among us, that seek the Glory of the Savior for themselves only. They band together like a band of robbers, excluding others from the Salvation of Jesus Christ that is available to all who truly believe. How can you hate your brother and then claim to be filled by the Holy Spirit? So, in short, we are in need of GOD'S correction so we may walk in a pure way. Don't you understand that those whose faith has been corrupted are lost brothers and sisters? That should spark compassion and concern for them, not hate. Do we struggle against flesh and blood? Have we then become so blind? Man's debate is not to save, but to prove one more right than another. What if your opinion is compromised, who will correct it? Instead, we cast a vote of opinion and go with what is most popular in our time, what then of the broad and narrow way? How foolish we have become in this practice? We do not have to reinvent the message of Salvation, Christ completed it on the cross. And for those that believe in Him, that salvation by Jesus Christ is a free gift from Him, so we too may partake in the same resurrection. Is that not the matter for which Paul the Apostle argued in the sight of those that came against him? Did we not just read it?

No! If I must choose between my own opinion and the Word of GOD, which do you advise me to follow? So should you. For it is Christ that leads and we must follow, He is The Way, The Truth and The Life.

No flesh can enter the Kingdom of GOD, so in all that we achieve, it must be in a Spiritual walk. And in that walk, we follow Him who walked ahead of us in the same Way, the same Truth and the same Life. I am not calling you to follow me, but to follow Christ. Do not walk after another, taking a man at his word. Is the Word of GOD then not available to us all, and are we not brought in by the same Holy Spirit of GOD? How then do we permit abominations in the Church?

The scripture in highlight today, is senior to any opinion I may have. If then my words are in the same Spirit as the Word of GOD, does it then not come by the Same Spirit? We are called to Christ Jesus, not to Paul or John or Peter. Paul, John and Peter were called to Christ too, and so are we. It is not Paul that saved us, even though we may have been introduced to Christ by Paul. I say this, so you don't scatter when the one who introduced you to Christ at first, falls. For the Israelites in the desert, they walked with Moses, but it was GOD that led them by a pillar of fire by night and a pillar of smoke by day. So, when Moses passed away, Joshua could lead them further in the same way. Christ is our Pillar, and the Holy Spirit guides us on our way by the Word of GOD. When we go astray, we have to ignore sections of the Word of GOD to permit it. What then do we ignore? Is that not removing the log from our own eye, testing our way against the Word of GOD?

My friends, the Lord will lead you if you only trust in Him. Man is not dependable enough. Our opinions muddy the Living water of Christ. Do not point at each other in damnation, but discover the truth of a matter, especially through self investigation inwardly and do not justify yourself outside the Word of GOD. If then justified, the Lord will justify you; if then in error, repent and be forgiven. It is the only road to peace amongst yourselves. Specialize then in the Word of GOD and not man's opinion of the Word of GOD.

Shalom

‭Psalm 23:5-6 KJV‬

[5] Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. [6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
