‭Acts 20:4-38 KJV‬

[4] And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus. [5] These going before tarried for us at Troas.  [6] And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days. [7] And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. [8] And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together. [9] And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead. [10] And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him. [11] When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed. [12] And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.  [13] And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot. [14] And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene. [15] And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus. [16] For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.  [17] And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church. [18] And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, [19] serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews: [20] and how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house, [21] testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. [22] And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: [23] save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. [24] But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. [25] And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. [26] Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. [27] For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. [28] Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. [29] For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. [30] Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. [31] Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. [32] And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. [33] I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel. [34] Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. [35] I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. [36] And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all. [37] And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him, [38] sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

Note for 2024/06/21

Friends, there are those that read here with us now, that have only been doing so a short while. For their sakes, I remind you that we are reading through the Bible in a "as it happened" kind of way. So, now we are back in the book of Acts.

Following the journeys of Paul, in between he wrote letters to the churches, which we have come to call the epistles. There were those that joined with him on his journey and those he left behind to care for the established churches.

Not forgetting that we just read that a young man fell and was like he was dead and that he was revived to join them again, alive; still must I leave that for your wonder and ask a question for reflection. What is it that you do for the gospel of Jesus Christ to be shared with all who will receive it?

Some are gifted by the Holy Spirit to speak before people, even I do it when I am afforded the opportunity, but some write as I do. Still of all, and this is my opinion, there are those who live their lives by the Word of GOD that preach without words that is even better. For they, and I hope I too, show the Word of GOD working in their daily lives. They silently preach, even to those who would not gather together to hear. They take the Word of GOD to heart, living in the way, showing kindness and the mercy and grace of GOD unto all men. They are the peacekeepers, they are the ones who remember that whatsoever we have done unto the least, we have done to Christ Jesus (Matt 25.)

How can someone learn to apply the words of Christ to their lives, if we don't show them? How can they learn of the Agape love of GOD, unless we love them. Now, GOD is able to do all things without human intervention, but still did Christ send out those who believed in Him, to share the gospel with all of mankind.

If possible, prevent yourselves from falling into debates with godless people. Present the Word of GOD, that is Jesus Christ; and if they receive him, leave your blessing with them. If not, wipe the dust from your feet and do not bid them God speed. For if they receive not the Lord by the message of peace, maybe they will call out to GOD in their trouble. I know this to be true, for when I was in trouble, I ran to the Lord my GOD. Do not be so focused on the flesh that you forget that it is the soul that should be saved. So too, it is advisable to remove those who cause divisions from among you, so they don't share in the blessings that GOD rain down on us, that their flesh may be troubled unto the salvation of their souls. See it as pushing the young bird out of the nest so it may discover for itself then that it has the ability to fly, and feed itself. Even where we may fail someone, GOD will not; if the person's name is in the Book of Life, GOD will keep Him in Christ Jesus at the end. It is GOD that does the good work in us, we are just ambassadors of His Kingdom. If I am then not the vessel that brings forth the message to those that GOD loves, He will send another who they will receive. We have to Trust in GOD, that what He has done for us, He will do for others; less we bring comfort too early and the soul be lost for it. For we are in this world, but not of it and no flesh shall enter the Kingdom of GOD. For the focus of our ministry for Christ, is to guide people unto Him, so their souls may be saved by Him and they may be partakers of the resurrection with us. What good is it, if an arm is saved, but the body is lost, not going to heaven?

If it is then trouble that leads a man to GOD, then trouble is a worthy path, but still I echo what Christ said, blessed are those who have not seen and yet believed. They will be spared from trouble, the kind that afflicted the soul. Who needs to beat a child that listens to the words of his father? He doesn't stand in rebellion, but honors his Father in Heaven. But, for him who refuse to listen, a stripe on his back may save his soul.

Do not heed the one who preys on others with a false show for pity, to rob them of what they have earned. For he stands in deceit and his ways are of lies and deceitful. It is better for him to yearn for the peels of the pigs and come to his senses, so he may go home to his Father. The problem right now is, that well meaning people are keeping robbers rich. They are not suffering for their crimes, but are living in the prosperity of their thievery that will lead their souls to death, even the second death, that will come after the White Throne judgment.

I write in such a way, that who knows more, will receive more. Hoping to leave just enough for the young in Spirit to receive food too and be satisfied. I do not wish to rob the children of food for the soul, but those who have matured must be able to eat too, so I give more than just milk, not withholding the milk either.

For GOD so loved the world that He sent His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, so that all that believe in Him would not perish, but receive life everlasting. What Christ has done for us, is enough to bring the believer in Him to salvation. GOD will save all those who believe in Him. I say again, GOD will do it, He is our Savior. I am just a messenger of the Salvation that He will bring, if only you would believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and keep His commandments.

I hope that in this world that is sowing words of confusion broadly, that I have brought enough to convince you to Trust in Him. Do not argue and debate among yourselves, it leads to divisions, but let each man work out his salvation with the Lord. Then, when we stand in faith of The Living GOD, and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, He will correct our errors in understanding. For if we move by the doctrines of men, we walk in jeopardy of walking in what is wrong, following a human being, instead of Christ. Because of this threat to the True Gospel of Jesus Christ, I urge you to read the Bible for yourself. Study it. For how will you know when you are being deceived, if you do not know the Word of GOD? Look then again at the whole armor of GOD in Ephesians 6, to dress in something, you must first have it. Else, you are dressed in imaginary things, which provides no protection. But, when you know the Word of GOD, even in your heart, then are you equipped to hold the Sword. The unseen realm, friends, are not imaginary, it is just not seen with carnal eyes. To see what is of the spirit, you must be Spirit too.
