Note for 2024/06/03 - ‭2 Corinthians 13:1-14 KJV‬ - Be of Good Comfort

‭2 Corinthians 13:1-14 KJV‬

[1] This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. [2] I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare: [3] since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you. [4] For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you. [5] Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? [6] But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates. [7] Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates. [8] For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. [9] For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection. [10] Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction. [11] Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. [12] Greet one another with an holy kiss. [13] All the saints salute you. [14] The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. The second epistle to the Corinthians was written from Philippi, a city of Macedonia, by Titus and Lucas.

Note for 2024/06/03

"Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you."  There is so much that we have learned, as we read through these epistles. Not all of it is just for hope and faith, but there is also a lot that must be done, and also that which must be refrained from.

Friends, I do not write to entertain. The most important parts of what I share with you each day are the scriptures quoted. It is my hope that you be perfected too, as Paul hoped for the Corinthians.

See the world around you through the Truth of God's Word. Judge yourself against the Word of GOD, and not man's opinion, not even your own. The carnal mind is at enmity with God, it shall seek excuse, it will present justifications. Human emotion is untrustworthy, for it is fueled by all kinds of whisperings, hormones and flattered by the words of man and unseen forces. But the Word of GOD is sure, unchanging and consistent. Guided by the Holy Spirit that works together for the Peace of GOD to reside with love in us. Agape love, not this romanticism that the world projects. The kind of love that can consider even your enemies with compassion for their state.

As we read through the letters of Paul to the Corinthians, I have also shared with you some of my testimony. I hope that it gave you some comfort, that what you read in the Word of GOD still applies to our time. Now, more than ever before it is wise to secure yourself in Christ. For, I do not know how much time is left, and to whom is tomorrow promised? Apply what you have learned, please. Refine your faith, and depend upon the Lord for all. Involve God in your daily business, all your activities and words. Consider your walk with Christ, measure your efforts against His Words.

I must mention too, that I write to believers in Jesus Christ. If that falls short, then we must look at the root of the message of Salvation again. To believe in Christ, is to believe also in that which He said and done. We are known by our word and deed. How we look, our physical representation, speaks to the flesh, but man is more than the flesh alone.

Then, in closing for this day. I said, live the Word of GOD. It is easy to agree with what you read, it is quite a different thing to put that on you and wear it as you would a robe. What you learn must be taken out with you as you roam in this world. I put it to you, that faith is a garment to be worn in public. The directive of your morals, to be with you in each moment. And where it cannot comply or accompany you, consider if you should be there at all. Even consider the purpose for you standing where you are; and wash that too with the Word of GOD. And when you see fearsome things, remember, you were forewarned. Be thus prepared, standing in the full armor of GOD in every moment.

Shalom

Daily Verse (Expanded)

(YouVersion verse 7 only)

‭Ephesians 1:3-14 KJV‬

[3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: [4] according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: [5] having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, [6] to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. [7] In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; [8] wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; [9] having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: [10] that in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: [11] in whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: [12] that we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. [13] In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, [14] which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
