Note for 2024/05/28 - ‭2 Corinthians 7:1-16 KJV‬ - Commendations

‭2 Corinthians 7:1-16 KJV‬

[1] Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. [2] Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man. [3] I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you. [4] Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.  [5] For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears. [6] Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus; [7] and not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more. [8] For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. [9] Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. [10] For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. [11] For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter. [12] Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you. [13] Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all. [14] For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth. [15] And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him. [16] I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.

Note for 2024/05/28

Peace unto you my friends, in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. How is it with your soul? Are you indeed attentive of the things we have learned here in the letters of Paul to the churches? Know that while I am not with you in person, in Christ we are one. We are the church, the buildings are just the places that we gather. There we go to be with those who believe like we do, so we may be strengthened by one another. Strengthen then, each other. Yes! Give more than what you take.

Friends, in this world everything has become about money. So often, we believe that is the only way to give. Even though, of course, ministries have need for money to perform their duties; sometimes, a helping hand and compassion is of much higher value. For instance, someone must tend to the grounds, as someone must sweep and clean. What you find to do, do so prayerfully. Remember Matthew 25, what you do for the least of these, you have done for Christ.

Friends, look at the things Paul commends the church of Corinth for. Could he commend us for it? And I know, it might seem simple to understand; yet, is it really hitting home? Have you got zeal for Jesus Christ, for GOD and His House? Have you got zeal for righteousness? The House of GOD, what is it? By now you should know that as GOD dwells in you he dwells in others too. Love one another with the Agape love we discussed not long ago. You can look at my note on 1 Corinthians 13 if you have missed it somehow.

What do we do for others? Do we check on their welfare? Do we still visit the widows and orphans, what of those in the hospitals and prisons without family? What of the lost, those that have gone after the things of this world, or those that have run from home, because it was not safe for them? What of the poor, in finance and in Spirit? What of those who lack in the knowledge of the Word? What are we teaching them, are they not the same as our children?

What value is there in pleasantries alone? Are you a stable pillar in your community? Or have we become like some who are hiding for a crime they might have committed. Is our faith a secret thing, that we hide and say, "it is personal."

I concede, not all are called to preach, but should we not all testify of Jesus Christ in word and deed? Imagine for one moment, if a leader like Paul had to write a report on you; what would he be able to commend you on, and what words might he have to write to correct you? The same Holy Spirit that guided Paul is available to us all. Each to be led in his own duties before the Lord. But, are we truly listening, or must our faith serve us first?

Of course, we did receive from GOD first, then we can share from what we have and as we share, we are replenished and built up. But, this world will take without consent. This world will rob and steal, but do not let that bother you, for GOD replenishes us, for He is our Father, if only we can stand within His will. Do not become so head-strong, that you miss God's will in matters. For what you have done for the least of these, you have done for GOD. We pray for those we love, don't we? What of those that GOD loves? Did GOD not declare in John 3:16, why He sent His only Begotten Son? Yes! Friends, Christ came to die for sinners like you and me. Don't forget where GOD found you, that you were lost once too. We were found by mercy and grace, so should we then also be merciful to others. Consider this always, that those that are still in the world, know not as you do. They are still ignorant of the Truth.

Yes, it is true, this world is oppressive. So often it is nothing but abusive, but someone is always watching, seeing how we respond. We should not show any sign of hopelessness, for we have our Hope in Jesus Christ and the promises in GOD'S Word. The body can take much abuse, and this outer-shell can heal; but, nonetheless, it is the soul that will carry on. Yes, I am speaking of presenting the other cheek right after you have been struck on the other. How do you intercede for the soul that is held captive by unseen forces?

Friends, the Word is not just to be read. It is meant to be lived. Our tribulations will yield profits, our resilience may turn others to believe as we do. For hope shines most brightly in times of trouble. Love is most obvious, in the face of hate. We are here to give, when Christ returns, it will be time for us to receive. This world will try to convince you otherwise. The enemy needs your attention on yourself, so it works to keep you in a state of survival. "And they loved not their lives unto death," these words should be a kind of warning of how we should live. We shall overcome the Beast by the Blood of GOD'S Lamb and the testimony of our mouths. Have you not read that what we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and what we free here, will be freed in heaven too. What authority has Christ left with us?

Friends, we are not the victims! We are the overcomer in Christ Jesus our Lord. We are the hope on show, in a world in hopelessness. But, first, you must believe it too. Resist the devil and he shall flee from you. Resist! That means saying, "no," when you are led away in thought and emotion. For Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in this world. How are we to rule and reign with Christ, if we cannot exercise in self-control?

Friends, don't you know I write to get you battle ready? Don't you know, the spiritual battle started long ago? Overcome then in Christ. Testify of Christ, in word and deed, follow Him, by heeding His words. And of course, the world will not agree with anything so righteous. Put on the Whole Armor of GOD, equip yourself by reading and applying the Word of GOD.

Then... We may have a good report to give to Christ. If we are steadfast, we might even have a good report of us to Christ, by those that we have helped. Pray for one another, bless each other from what you have; and GOD will replenish you.

Shalom

Verse of the Day

(YouVersion)

‭Colossians 1:13-14 KJV‬

[13] who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: [14] in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Please Note:

The verse of the day is ordinarily the end of the note for the day, but sometimes I received more than other days. Sometimes there are further confirmations, or the teaching extends further on for a deeper understanding and correlation as it pertains to the word received for the day.

So, as far as it goes for those with extreme time constraints as a plant suffocated by the cares of the world… go and attend to what you must with all responsibility that is due. However, I urge you strongly to read on, as more was given.

Verse of the day Expanded

‭Colossians 1:3-14 KJV‬

[3] We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, [4] since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, [5] for the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; [6] which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth: [7] as ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; [8] who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit. [9] For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; [10] that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; [11] strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; [12] giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: [13] who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: [14] in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Psalms in View

This was presented by a brother in the faith after the note was available on YouVersion, and coming from his daily reading. Let us then see if the Spirit is divided or stands in unison.

‭Psalm 37:1-40 KJV‬

[1] Fret not thyself because of evildoers, Neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. [2] For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb.  [3] Trust in the LORD, and do good; So shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. [4] Delight thyself also in the LORD; And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.  [5] Commit thy way unto the LORD; Trust also in him; And he shall bring it to pass. [6] And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, And thy judgment as the noonday.  [7] Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.  [8] Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: Fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. [9] For evildoers shall be cut off: But those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.  [10] For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: Yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. [11] But the meek shall inherit the earth; And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.  [12] The wicked plotteth against the just, And gnasheth upon him with his teeth. [13] The Lord shall laugh at him: For he seeth that his day is coming.  [14] The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation. [15] Their sword shall enter into their own heart, And their bows shall be broken.  [16] A little that a righteous man hath is better Than the riches of many wicked. [17] For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: But the LORD upholdeth the righteous.  [18] The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: And their inheritance shall be for ever. [19] They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.  [20] But the wicked shall perish, And the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: They shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.  [21] The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: But the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. [22] For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; And they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.  [23] The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: And he delighteth in his way. [24] Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: For the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.  [25] I have been young, and now am old; Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. [26]  He is ever merciful, and lendeth; And his seed is blessed.  [27] Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell for evermore. [28] For the LORD loveth judgment,  And forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: But the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. [29] The righteous shall inherit the land, And dwell therein for ever.  [30] The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, And his tongue talketh of judgment. [31] The law of his God is in his heart; None of his steps shall slide.  [32] The wicked watcheth the righteous, And seeketh to slay him. [33] The LORD will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.  [34] Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: When the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.  [35] I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a green bay tree. [36] Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: Yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.  [37] Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: For the end of that man is peace. [38] But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: The end of the wicked shall be cut off.  [39] But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: He is their strength in the time of trouble. [40] And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

Conclusion (Shortly)

We do not stand in a divided church, the Holy Spirit is One in all of us. GOD does not fail us, we fail to understand. The Love of GOD sustains and delivers us, unto the Salvation of the Soul to eternal life. The Lord is the Author and the Finisher of our Faith. He delivers us even when we do not have the capacity to understand what He does. He protects us so well that, most often, we do not even perceive the threat.

The message today is made most clear by Verse 40 in Psalm 37, we are saved because we trust in HIM.

Shalom.
