Matthew 13:1-23 KJV

[1] The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. [2] And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. [3] And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; [4] and when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: [5] some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: [6] and when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. [7] And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: [8] but other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. [9] Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. [10] And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? [11] He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. [12] For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. [13] Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. [14] And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; And seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: [15] For this people's heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest at any time they should see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And should understand with their heart, And should be converted, and I should heal them. [16] But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. [17] For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. [18] Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. [19] When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. [20] But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; [21] yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. [22] He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. [23] But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Today, we are fortunate, for we have both those which were spoken in public by Christ as parables, and that what was said to the disciples. But, it is not all we have, we have the Bible, and in that we have more. If we search out the Word of GOD, which is Christ, we will receive wisdom in our fear (reverence) of GOD, if we hear and see, we will gain understanding. The harder part to deal with in the heart, is that it is not meant for all, but only those who can receive it and bring forth fruit from it.

Proverbs 8:22-36 KJV

[22] The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, Before his works of old. [23] I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, Or ever the earth was. [24] When there were no depths, I was brought forth; When there were no fountains abounding with water. [25] Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills was I brought forth: [26] While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, Nor the highest part of the dust of the world. [27] When he prepared the heavens, I was there: When he set a compass upon the face of the depth: [28] When he established the clouds above: When he strengthened the fountains of the deep: [29] When he gave to the sea his decree, That the waters should not pass his commandment: When he appointed the foundations of the earth: [30] Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: And I was daily his delight, Rejoicing always before him; [31] Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; And my delights were with the sons of men. [32] Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: For blessed are they that keep my ways. [33] Hear instruction, and be wise, And refuse it not. [34] Blessed is the man that heareth me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. [35] For whoso findeth me findeth life, And shall obtain favour of the LORD. [36] But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: All they that hate me love death.

John 1:1-5 KJV

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Now in Proverbs here you read words of wisdom, and in John you read about the seed in the parable. And still, only those to whom it is given to receive it will. Even less will take a hold of it, and bring forth fruit from it. The seed was not spared from the wayside, the stone or thorny places, but only in good soil did it find depth to shoot forth roots. Let him who has ears to hear, hear.

John 20:29 KJV

[29] Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Many will not see nor hear this, even when it was delivered unto them in their hands. You can say, they do not want to hear, but maybe it is more apt to say, they cannot hear. They will not receive it, for it is withheld from them in their hearts. Their goal is not the Kingdom of Heaven, they are set on a kingdom for themselves. Still the Sower sows, and the prudent search it out.

The thing is, friends, we do not elect who hears it. GOD does. As long as the Seed is sown, it will testify for the righteous and be a witness against the wicked. So, both the wise and the fool had it in earshot, but only the wise took it in and made it grow.

Proverbs 16:4 KJV

[4] The LORD hath made all things for himself: Yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Not all is easy to hear, often it troubles the soul, but both, good and evil, is presented to mankind and they elect from which bowl they will drink.

Today is yet another day that has been granted to those still breathing to make their selection. Good or evil, the Word of Truth or the lies of this world. For in the thorny places, the Word will be strangled in mankind, the birds of the air will sweep it up from the wayside and in stoney places it will not have depth of root to endure unto the end. Still, the Sower sows and the good ground will receive it and yield its fruit.

Are you a prudent and just person? Then search out the Word of GOD in depth.
