Luke 20:1-47 KJV
[1] And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders, [2] and spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority? [3] And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me: [4] The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? [5] And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not? [6] But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet. [7] And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was. [8] And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things. [9] Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time. [10] And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty. [11] And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty. [12] And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out. [13] Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him. [14] But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be our's. [15] So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them? [16] He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid. [17] And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, The same is become the head of the corner? [18] Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. [19] And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them. [20] And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor. [21] And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly: [22] Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Cæsar, or no? [23] But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me? [24] Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Cæsar's. [25] And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which be Cæsar's, and unto God the things which be God's. [26] And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace. [27] Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him, [28] saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. [29] There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children. [30] And the second took her to wife, and he died childless. [31] And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died. [32] Last of all the woman died also. [33] Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife. [34] And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: [35] but they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: [36] neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. [37] Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. [38] For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him. [39] Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said. [40] And after that they durst not ask him any question at all. [41] And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son? [42] And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, [43] Till I make thine enemies thy footstool. [44] David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son? [45] Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples, [46] Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; [47] which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.

Note for 20250515
Do I bring one line of scripture to you alone? Should you pay tribute? You have the answer of the Lord Jesus Christ right here. But what is it that you must render to GOD, that is His? You pay your taxes, some even as much as 40%, what does the Lord require of you? Does the LORD have need for your money, or is it that there might be bread in His House? For who is that bread to eat? How many of you have made a study of tithing, or did you stop at Malachi 3:10? Did you bring it for the poor to eat, or that GOD may bless you?
What have you learned of those that are like these Pharisees and scribes, the chiefs of the people? Why must man always put himself between GOD and men? Is there a resurrection according to Jesus Christ? What will our nature be then? The Jews ate at the Temple of the Holy Meat, so they brought the sacrifices to be burned upon the Altar. What is written, did GOD consume His portion or did His priests? Was the tithe for the priests, or was it for the widows and the orphans? Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is His. Is it not written to give to the poor is as to lend to GOD? Shall I bring up Matthew 25:40 once again?
What of what Christ said here in our reading do you disagree with? The ruling class of that day, the Pharisees and scribes and the chiefs of the people could not move against Christ because of the Word He gave and for fear of the people. You have read it now, over and over again. Who is it that seeks the chief position in the market places, who thinks themselves better than ordinary folk? Who makes the long prayers and wears apparel for respect? Is it not still a practice in the courts? Do we not have named brands that set apart the rich from the poor? Who makes long speeches? May GOD have mercy on me if I have made myself guilty of the same, for He knows my heart.
This past Sunday, I listened to a sermon online. To be fully transparent, I could not listen to all for the departure from the Word of GOD. I could not just let it be, so I commented with Bible verses. Yes, friends, I quoted scripture from the Word of GOD. Would you believe me if I report to you that my comments were deleted? Bible verses, removed, because it does not fit the lies that were spoken to the people. This from those who love to stand on platforms at centre stage. These that bring the Word to you, and you leave them unchecked. So now, I will give you a scripture:
1 John 4:1 KJV
[1] Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
https://bible.com/bible/1/1jn.4.1.KJV
Do you believe all that man says? For this reason they craft their sermons, reluctant to give glory to Jesus Christ. Do you think a wicked man can not say the Name of our Lord? Just hear them when they bump their toe, or get a fright.
2 Peter 2:1-3 KJV
[1] But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. [2] And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. [3] And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
https://bible.com/bible/1/2pe.2.1-3.KJV
Shall I keep my silence? Shall I be silenced? How many witnesses did the law require? I have two.
Friends, did I withhold any verse here in our reading from you? Have you not stood witness when I said, don't follow me, read for yourself? How will you try what is being said to you, if you do not have anything to try it against? Have I not included all of the Word for you as I share it? And for the same reason I urge you to go and expand the verses quoted here that you may find more. 1 John 4 will tell you how to tell if someone is of GOD and 2 Peter 2 will tell you who they are that are not of GOD. And here is where discernment is needed, for we do not have Pharisees and scribes today as they were named then, and the priests have become Pastors and Reverends in our time. But, even just a quick chat with most of them, they themselves will admit that many false teachers have come in. Am I to honour man or GOD, listen to the doctrines of a man or the doctrine of Jesus Christ? Why do you think this series is called, the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
Friends, you do not have to hear me, but hear the Lord Jesus Christ, please. For many stand at the pulpit proclaiming crafted words of man. We live in a time of high deception. Why can't you raise your hand to ask a question in church? Will you be cast out? Because my comments of Bible verses were deleted from the record, they may as well have torn it out of the Bible.
It is not all congregations friends, and do not use this as an excuse not to attend the congregation of the saints, for that is required of us too. If the church becomes corrupt, for the sake of vain men and women, who then shall keep the sheep of GOD? So they stand in all their denominations, decided by the opinions of mankind. They congregate in brick buildings, but deny one another in the Spirit. Are we not united in Jesus Christ then?
What to do? But, put it far from me to bring division, I yearn for unity in Jesus Christ. I yearn for Righteousness in Jesus Christ. What to do then, when the leaders have gone astray? Was this not the case in the time of Christ too? Then the church of men has become ripe for judgment by GOD, may He have mercy on His Children.
This conversation is not done. It cannot be done until correction comes. But, for now, I leave the matter at the Throne of GOD, for the Sake of His Children. Who then will believe a lie? Who will walk after a lie and reward it? Who will say Godspeed to a liar?
2 John 1:9-11 KJV
[9] Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. [10] If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: [11] for he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Once more, scripture, and I invite you to read all of it and try me.
