Luke 4:30-44 KJV
[30] But he passing through the midst of them went his way, [31] and came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days. [32] And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power. [33] And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, [34] saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God. [35] And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not. [36] And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out. [37] And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about. [38] And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. [39] And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them. [40] Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. [41] And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ. [42] And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them. [43] And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. [44] And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.

Note for 20250403
Friends, you know that many sermons can be preached from just a single scripture, just as you know that there is always some sort of constraint on how long we may spend ministering to one another. Look, here in the reading, the people followed Christ even into desert places. They requested of Him not to depart from them. But He had others whom He had concern for too, other cities where He had to take the message and bring healing and deliverance to.
So, what do we do? When the message is not quite yet finished, as more is added unto us, and sadly, some depart from us? So can one man spend his entire life ministering in just one town. It seems like an incessant labour, a Word that does not end. As for an example, I myself have written before on this chapter, this section of the chapter on the 30th of November of 2023.
Look at what happened at Simon's house, when his mother-in-law had a great fever...
Luke 4:39 KJV
[39] And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.
https://bible.com/bible/1/luk.4.39.KJV
She arose and ministered unto them. So, there are many that have been healed, written of here, those that have been freed of unclean spirits, and yet, the heading today comes from this verse. Now, this here is not the first time that I write to you about such ministering, but some have been added, and some have moved on to listen to others. My hope, of course, is that those that left have gone on to minister to others, in truth. In some respects, the words I deliver unto you are much like Simon's mother-in-law, serving them there in his house that evening. I have become a seasonal worker, and as the seasons change, so do those I write to here, and of course, also those that listen on other platforms and in many cities, all over the world. I suppose you can compare me to a waiter; only, I cannot always give you what you want, I can only give you what we have, hoping that I may bring all you need for this day.
Yes, I am a seasonal worker here for Jesus Christ. At the end of the day, I have Someone to report back to too. I can only minister unto you from what I have. Is that not what we were called for? Not in self-praising, of course, not at all; but in request for all to keep in remembrance the instruction that Christ left for us. Let's say it like this, it is with concern, as I look at many who seem to have forgotten that our Lord will come back for us. That joyful hope that soon we may be with Him where He is.
Do you remember Matthew 24, which so many have quoted regarding the end to come, how it ends in the final verses?
Matthew 24:48-51 KJV
[48] But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; [49] and shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; [50] the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, [51] and shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
https://bible.com/bible/1/mat.24.48-51.KJV
Can you see my concern? Have you paid attention? What all have become permissible in what is projected in this world as the church of GOD? Is it the church of GOD, those brick buildings and financial institutions? What do we learn in Revelation 21, who makes up the city of GOD, the New Jerusalem? Are we not congregants in Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit that was sent to us? What is ministering then, if I have to count my words in order not to offend weak constitutions? Am I to bring you sweet biscuits to dip in your tea, or the Bread that will sustain your life?
Jesus healed Simon's wife's mother, and she ministered unto them, did she preach to Christ, or brought him something to eat and drink? Not all forms of ministry are the same. Today's concern is not so much of what I bring to you, but of that which you take to others. Do you remember how James 2 ends?
James 2:26 KJV
[26] For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
https://bible.com/bible/1/jas.2.26.KJV
Maybe this will help you on, that you will leave your seat of inactivity in this time, this season of time we are standing in.
Revelation 19:7-8 KJV
[7] Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. [8] And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
https://bible.com/bible/1/rev.19.7-8.KJV
Now the question for today is the this:
Are you one that says your Lord is delaying His coming, or are you standing at the ready in righteous acts, expecting His return at any moment?
Do you want to know how you can check the truth of your faith? What have you got planned for this day? How much of your day is sectioned off for things of this world, and how much for the Kingdom of GOD? Now, I say again, there are many ministries, and indeed, there are many that stand in places in this world that may seem vile, but they are the only light that shines in that place. Yet are you on duty for the Kingdom of GOD, are you on post and is your garment without spot or wrinkle? Are you an Ambassador of Christ, or still wrapped up in this world? Do you remember the words, "come out of her my people?" Do not have part in a system of oppression but bring you relief for many.
Above the concept of ministering to others, what is the concept of righteous acts? After all, James said faith without works is dead. I am not saying you must be a pastor; I am merely reminding you that we are to minister the testimony of Jesus Christ to others, even every creature. Do you think to yourself, "Christ will not come today?" What is it when the flesh is left behind without the Spirit in it? What did James say?
When was the last time you thought about your ministry? What is it, and are you active?
Selah, Shalom
