2 Peter 1:1-21 KJV
[1] Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: [2] grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, [3] according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: [4] whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. [5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [7] and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. [8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [9] But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. [10] Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: [11] for so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. [12] Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. [13] Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; [14] knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me. [15] Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. [16] For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. [17] For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. [18] And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. [19] We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: [20] knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. [21] For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Note for 20250211
Though I wrote about an uncomfortable truth this morning, it should not be for those that believe in the truth. While there is much to learn here of all that we should strive for, today we look more precisely to the Way we have been shown by Jesus Christ. Some may even say it is an unfortunate truth, even a truth that is hard to face despite that we have stood witness to it so many times. Listen to what Peter writes...
2 Peter 1:14 KJV
[14] knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

Friends, dying is part of the cycle of man; but, to those who believe in Jesus Christ, it is not an everlasting death but more of a transition to what comes next. Surely, Paul wrote that not all of us will die, but assures us that all will change. Learning that when Christ appears, the dead in Christ will rise first and then, those that are yet alive at the time will be called up to join Jesus and the saints in the air. Surely this is not a new revelation, but a re-affirmation of what is known. Jesus showed the way unto ascension to our Father in Heaven, through the grave and the resurrection. So much so that we are reminded of the certain hope of the resurrection.
2 Peter 1:19 KJV
[19] We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Now this for some might be harder to take to heart, that Jesus Christ must first arise within our hearts. Knowing then that there is a qualification that we must attain, by our faith in Jesus Christ. That, while we still live, we must mortify the flesh, be reborn of the Spirit, that Christ may rise in us. That we may adopt the light of the Day Star, which is Christ. For this reason, Peter reminds us at the start of this letter of the Spiritual properties of our faith and also of the promise of prophecy, written by Holy men moved by the Holy Ghost. So too is the law of GOD written upon the tables of our heart, that such virtue may be contained in us.
2 Peter 1:5-7 KJV
[5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
Is faith in Jesus Christ then without labour? But, in our faith we may know that in our weakness, His strength is made manifest. For the Glory of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, we obtain mercy when our heart is set on the Kingdom of GOD. So, when this tabernacle must be laid down, we await the resurrection promised by Jesus Christ, in the way that He has shown, and as Peter here confirms. While some may yet be alive at His appearance, who will change in the blink of an eye, most of us will meet Him again in the resurrection, when this temple is rebuilt by Jesus Christ, and we ascend to join Him in the air. So, by the Blood of our Lord and Saviour, sin has no hold on the believer in Jesus Christ, and death has lost its bite.
But, before that comes, we first have our bit to do here on earth for our Saviour, contained in His instruction to us, that starts with love for GOD our Father, first, and for our neighbour, second. Then we will be with Him at our transition, in the paradise of GOD, just as He promised the repenting sinner on the cross, "today you will be with me in paradise." We do not hold on to a false hope, but onto a promise made by GOD.
Selah, Shalom.

Verse of The Day
From the YouVersion Bible App for 20250211 (Expanded from verse 10)
Hebrews 4:9-12 KJV
[9] There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. [10] For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. [11] Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. [12] For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Verse of the Day for 20250211
John 5:24 KJV
[24] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
