Mark 1:1-15 KJV
[1] The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; [2] As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Which shall prepare thy way before thee. [3] The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight. [4] John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. [5] And there went out unto him all the land of Judæa, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins. [6] And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey; [7] and preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. [8] I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. [9] And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. [10] And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: [11] and there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. [12] And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness. [13] And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him. [14] Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, [15] and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Note for 20250102
It is important that we know that there is a fulfillment of Prophecy concerning the Son of GOD, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. It validates the Lord, but also the prophet by which the Lord brought the prophecy in the first place. Today we know that Christ fulfilled these prophecies concerning Him until this time, and by it do we know that not only those prophecies will be fulfilled but all that was brought by the same prophets of GOD.
The quoted Prophecy further also validates John the Baptist, and later Christ confirms that John the Baptist was the one who came by the Spirit of Elijah. If you don't believe the word of Jesus Christ, then to you, you would miss the fulfillment of the prophecy.
Verse 14 and 15 bring us this statement, that the time is fulfilled and the Kingdom of GOD is at hand. The Gospel that Jesus preached was the Gospel of the Kingdom of GOD. Remember how he explained the Kingdom to us in parables, when we looked at the parables of Jesus Christ?

The Kingdom of GOD is at hand, and the time is fulfilled, and this is preached by Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD, whom GOD confirmed as His Son at His baptism. John the Baptist confirms it, from the prophecy that He was given, when the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus and remained on Him. Now there are statements that I have written here with which you agree and the Holy Spirit in you confirms it. How about the statement that the time is fulfilled? Elsewhere it is written, The Kingdom of GOD is near, here Mark testifies that Christ said it is at hand.
It is also written that Christ said that no flesh can enter into the Kingdom of GOD. Not to be confused with the statement by Christ in Matthew 24, which states that when we see all the things He told us in Matthew 24 happening at the same time, that we must look up, for our redemption draws near. Shall I then ask, where did Christ say the Kingdom of GOD is?
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:21 KJV)
Is that "near" and "at hand?" Repent ye, and believe the Gospel. The Gospel of the Kingdom of GOD. Yes, that is from verse 14 and 15 here again. What then happened at Pentecost? Was the Holy Spirit not poured out? Another prophecy fulfilled? And did we not just recently read in the Gospel according to John, that when Christ appeared to His disciples in the locked room, that He breathed on them and said, receive ye the Holy Ghost? So, I must ask again, do you believe what you read? Do you accept the Word of GOD? Shall we then ignore that Christ said that GOD is a Spirit? Matthew 24 speaks of our redemption drawing near. It is not the same thing friends, for those of the Kingdom of GOD will be redeemed. What then is redemption? Are we not joined to the Kingdom of GOD by the Holy Spirit of GOD poured out in us? Do you believe the Word of GOD, even of dust to dust? What then of the soul of man, is that dust? Genesis teaches us that GOD blew his breath into the man that he made from the dust of the earth, and man became a living soul. Dust to dust, what then of the breath of GOD, Who is a Spirit. Does Genesis 1 not speak of the Spirit of GOD hovering upon the face of the deep? Did Christ not say, The Father is in Me and I in the Father? Did John not testify that there are three witnesses in Heaven, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and that they are One. Do we not read of the Holy One of Israel? This is written so often that I cannot quote all the scriptures here, and does the Spirit in you not confirm? Are we not compared to being vessels? Of what? Christ preached the Gospel of the Kingdom of GOD, that we must repent and believe this Gospel of His of the Kingdom of GOD. And when we believe in Jesus Christ that He came in the flesh and comes from GOD, does John not write that GOD is then in us, and us in Him?
The Kingdom of GOD is at hand, it is near. Dare I say, it is here. Jesus, the Christ, said the Kingdom of GOD is in us. What we are awaiting is for the moment of redemption. Dare I say, when the dust returns to dust, and the soul of man is redeemed back to GOD. Do we not even say in ourselves that when we work for GOD that we do the work for the Kingdom of GOD. Are we not led from within, by the Word of GOD that was written upon our hearts, just as prophecy foretold too? There is a fulfillment of prophecy in you. We are in this world but not of it, right? Greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world. Who then stands in the world, but the man of flesh?
In times past, in a half baked understanding of this truth, some have ventured to lay down their own lives, killing themselves to lay the flesh. Forgetting that the law states, Thou shalt not kill. What is it then to give up the ghost? Is the church not the body of Christ here on earth? Do we not even say Christ in us? Some erroneously believe that somehow this makes them GOD, and forget that GOD is in us. We are not GOD, the Father is in us. Christ is in us. The Holy Spirit is in us. The Kingdom of GOD is in us. When we give up the ghost, and dust returns to dust, the ghost of us is redeemed back to God from which it came, to be with Him, where He is, if we believe in Him. Christ said that no one goes to the Father except by Him. By our faith in Jesus, the Son of GOD, the Word of GOD, we are promised everlasting life. GOD is a Spirit, how shall we be? Shall we look at Romans 8:1 again?
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
You see, if you do not believe in the Kingdom of GOD, you miss the ministry of Christ for the Gospel of the Kingdom of GOD as mentioned here in Mark 1. Repent ye and believe this Gospel, of the Kingdom of GOD, even that it is in us. It is at hand and near.
Christ showed the Way, through the grave and the resurrection and even in the ascension. That we may be where He is. As He is. This is the resurrection that is preached, that we will be resurrected to and that we will be with Him at His return to rule and reign on Earth for a thousand years. The New Heavens and the New Earth, when the city of GOD, the New Jerusalem descend from Heaven, and who will enter in; that we read of in Revelation 21.
We join the Kingdom of GOD here and now, and Revelation is the "end destination." There we will be with GOD for the New Era, that we only know as eternity.
Now that this may be established in you, it is my hope in Christ, that the testimony of His disciples will be understood too. Even of how we will be changed and joined to Him in the twinkling of the eye, should we yet be alive (in the flesh) at His return. To the sinner on the cross He said, today you will be with me in paradise. Can we dismiss that?
Now we know in part, but when Christ comes we will know in full. In the meanwhile, we are filled with the Holy Spirit of GOD, who is the promised comforter, Who reminds us of what Christ said, and will reveal to us of the things to come. According to what Christ Himself said of the Holy Spirit that poured out on us.
Now there is more to this, my friends. But, in the Spirit I am guided that this is enough for today. Much has been written, much to be considered and to try it, if it be of GOD. (1 John 4:1 as reference) Hear the Word of GOD, investigate it in yourself by the Spirit that dwells with you.
Selah, Shalom.
