The Audio Version of today’s note

John 2:1-12 KJV

[1] And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: [2] and both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. [3] And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. [4] Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. [5] His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. [6] And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. [7] Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. [8] And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. [9] When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, [10] and saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. [11] This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him. [12] After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.

Note for 20241202

Jesus turned water into wine, 6 water pots full of it, each holding 20 to 30 gallons of it; none knowing of it, safe those whom He instructed to fill the pots with water. For a moment, let us look at those who witnessed the miracle, they were servants to the wedding guests. More importantly, they were obedient servants; for they obeyed the mother of Christ, that they did as He requested, just as she instructed them to do. They filled the pots with water, they drew it out and presented it to the master of ceremony of the feast, they heard him giving glory to the groom for saving the finest wine until the end. Those who drank the wine did not perceive that it was water first, they only knew it as fine wine, pleasing to drink from; but, the servants, they were blessed for knowing where it came from. They perceived a miracle, while the guests enjoyed the wine unwittingly.

Is it not the same for us, who stand in service of the Most High GOD in Jesus Christ? We obey when we are called to service, and bless those with what we were given. We perceive the miracles, for we see where it came from. We see the Hand of GOD in it, provisions that come from the mercy of GOD for mankind. They whom we stand in service to, they only benefit from that which please them; we see the miracles of provision and obedience to the Lord's instruction.

And I am humbled and amazed, for even as I give here to you, I alone know how it came to you. I am a vessel like these water pots in this miracle, I can only hold that which is poured into me. When I present it to you, the Lord has made it more than I perceived at first. I am blessed by the knowledge of where it came from. In obedience we draw from that which GOD gave to us, but as we share it with others, it becomes that which the Lord intended for them. So speaks the Word of GOD, which is the living water, as fine wine to those who receive it. They, and in this also you, receive a higher Word from GOD, for He has made it more than what it was at first. Words speaking to each according to His Will, presenting a hope of life everlasting, from an ordinary vessel which held common things at first; now pouring out the miracle of GOD'S Love to all who will receive from it. While the Word of GOD may be drawn out from me, it is GOD who makes His Word Holy. I am a witness of GOD'S Kingdom. I am a witness of Salvation by the Lord Jesus Christ. For once, I was as common as these watering pots, but Christ took pity on me, and filled me with His Holy Spirit. I know my beginnings, who I was at first; a common even worthless thing. But, in me the water has been turned into a fine wine too. My injury and suffering, which I have been delivered from, have turned into a fine wine by a miracle of Christ in me, for those who will attend the wedding feast of the Lamb of GOD. I am a witness, for I have seen the water turn into wine, and I know it is not of me, but of Him.

Verse of The Day

From the YouVersion Bible App (Extended from verse 57)

1 Corinthians 15:54-58 KJV

[54] So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. [55] O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? [56] The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. [57] But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. [58] Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
