The Wheat and Tares

The Audio Version of today’s note

(Please note, I referenced Proverbs 7 incorrectly, it must be Proverbs 8)

Matthew 13:24-30 KJV

[24] Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: [25] but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. [26] But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. [27] So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? [28] He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? [29] But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. [30] Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Matthew 13:36-43 KJV

[36] Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. [37] He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; [38] the field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; [39] the enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. [40] As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. [41] The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; [42] and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. [43] Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Matthew 13:47-51 KJV

[47]  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: [48] which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. [49] So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, [50] and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. [51] Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.

Note for 20241012

In our reading, the dragnet and the separation of fish by kind is included, as it is another parable told by Christ to teach the same lesson.

I include a section from…

Matthew 25 (KJV)

[31] When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: [32] And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: [33] And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. [34] Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: [35] For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: [36] Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. [37] Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? [38] When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? [39] Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? [40] And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. [41] Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

I stopped at verse 41, in respect for your time. Those of you who are afforded the time, please read all the way to the end of chapter 25.

Christ made sure His disciples understood what the parables He spoke to others meant.

Also today in my reading were Psalm 106 and Proverbs 8. I will not place more on you, so those who want to can read it.

I believe there is enough here to explain what Christ Jesus our Lord was teaching His disciples, that would go on to become the Apostles to the early church. Excluding Judas for his betrayal and including Paul by the selection of our Lord Jesus Christ, while Paul was on his way to Damascus to persecute the followers of Christ. Do you see the selection process here in effect?

Read verses 37 to 39 of Matthew 13 again, just to refresh your memory. The good seed that is sewn into this world are the children of the kingdom of GOD, the wheat sown by Who? Yes, the Son of man. Who then is the enemy?

Shall I take you back to the beginning? Listen to what GOD said to the serpent that tricked Eve in the Garden in Eden.

Genesis 3:15 KJV

[15] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Tell me again, who did Jesus say is the good seed? What of the tares, whose children are they? Then, in Matthew 25, the scripture provided above, who are the sheep and who are the goats?

Let us see briefly what Jude wrote.

[4] For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

And....

[6] And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. [7] Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. [8] Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

I do suggest you read the entire book of Jude, it's just one chapter; but understanding here in relation to the parable of the wheat and tare may bring you some insight.

Friends, did Christ not say that we will know them by their fruit? Are we to partake of their fruit, share in their feasts. How blessed are those that have read the Psalm mentioned in today's note. For they will understand even the meaning behind Baal Peor, the golden calf at the foot of mount Hermon, even the eating of the flesh of the dead.

The wheat and the tare, the sheep and the goat, they are not the same and destined to an everlasting separation. The wicked seed is not like the children of GOD'S kingdom. For one, they can not repent and they are motivated by hate and rebellion. They repent not of their iniquities. They have no conscience. Jude will show you that. We have heard of the men of renown, those like Og of Bashan and even Goliath with a froward mouth. They have corrupted the field of GOD, and are destined for the fire.

Let me tie this up in a bow for understanding. Let's see if the prophets of GOD knew?

Malachi 4 KJV

[1] For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. [2] But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. [3] And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts. [4] Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

Did Malachi know? Did Jude?

Jude 1 KJV

[11] Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

The early church, friends, knew who these strange men were and where they came from. David made war with the children of wickedness. The wheat and the tare are most definitely not the same.

Genesis 6, Ezra 9, 2 Kings 17 must be read for a fuller understanding. Who is Anak, and the children of Anak? These Tares, these strange men that have come in unaware, have sown their lies of deception. Mingling themselves with the seed of GOD'S children, for they want what we have in Christ. Yet, they deny Christ our Lord and Savior and corrupt everything that is truly good and from GOD. They tarnish the life giving water, they tarnish the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The wheat and the tare are not the same, neither the sheep and the goat.

For some, I know this might be like an overload. But know this, Christ is our Savior, the Good Shepherd. He will complete what He started in you. The enemy does not want you to know the truth of who you are. Joint-heirs with Christ.

Selah, Shalom.

Verse of The Day

Isaiah 6:8 KJV

[8] Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
