[1] And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: [2] with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. [3] So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. [4] And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: [5] and upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. [6] And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. [7] And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. [8] The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. [9] And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. [10] And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. [11] And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. [12] And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. [14] These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. [15] And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. [16] And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. [17] For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. [18] And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Note for 20240915

Have you got any idea how long men have been debating this chapter? Besides what is in this chapter and in the prophets writings, I do not know. We read of the beast and the woman; and that the beast hates the woman. The many waters, are many peoples, nations and tongues, that the woman sits upon.

Once more, I will add the Bible study of Pastor Dave Jones to give guidance into these things.

The beast: The seven heads are mountains, the ten horns are kings.

The woman that the beast hates: She is Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of all Harlots and abominations of the earth.

I will give you what I see, and I may be wrong; it is important that you take special note of that. You have to ask yourself who does this world hate, from all appearances? What do we see? Now, for the Christian, it will seem to be the church, but we see the true church with Christ in the text. Right now, there seems to be a particular hate of Israel. And as far as I have read in the Word of GOD, Israel did go after other gods, which is a spiritual form of fornication and adultery, as they abandoned GOD. Who killed the prophets and the saints, who brought the accusation to Pilot against Christ Jesus? Do you remember that even Paul, then Saul and a Pharisee and natural born Roman citizen, persecuted the early church. Which group of people have a special consideration in the world, is it not the Jews? And friends, I am not against Israel by any means, I am considering those who claim that they are Jews and aren't, just as Jesus mentioned in Revelation 2 and 3.

Outwardly they are Jews, but inwardly... Well, what did Christ say? I am simply showing you who this woman may be. Especially considering Ezra 9. Did you know that in the Roman Empire, only Jews were excluded from calling the emperor the one true god? Even then they had a special consideration. But, I give it to you that these do not resemble the true Jews. Christ said that GOD could make descendants of Abraham out of rocks. He was speaking against those who had murder and hate in their hearts. And that is just speaking on the woman and who she may be. Remember how many times we have read, "and they repented not?" Friends, the Word tells us that Israel will repent. And when they repent and say, "blessed is He that comes in the Name of GOD," Jesus will show up for them. That much is prophesied.

When it comes to Kings, we have to consider government. Not just government, but also the elements of government, justice, finance and education, the entire system of government that used to be overseen by kings. But friends, have we not already seen a change in government? What then is democracy, where in the Bible do you read about Israel voting? No, first GOD was the Head of them, but they wanted a King like the nation's that surrounded them; and now, do they not have democratic principles too? It makes me think of the broad and narrow way, and which of these are favored in the voting process? Should we call evil good then? What has Jew, Christian and pagan then in common, what still of the godless and lukewarm? No, Spiritually, today's governing systems are polytheistic in nature, the system does not Honor the GOD of All Creation and our Lord Jesus Christ, it honors all; and it seems, mankind first.

Of all these things, I am not ignorant; but, only by their fruit can we know them. When the enemy is in the camp, even as plain clothes civilians in the city; how do you point your finger at one? This world system has become a beast in itself, can you see that? I look and look, I hear and see; which brings me to the consideration that we might be deeper into this book we are reading now than most think. So much of what I read is all around me, today; even NOW!

But we, who believe in Christ and obey the commandments of GOD have a Hope. You see, I read here in the text today, of the Lamb and that He shall overcome the beast. Who, then, is called and chosen, and faithful; and with the Lamb of GOD? Christ said, "My sheep know my voice." These things will be revealed to us in the appointed time. We should simply focus on the task that Christ gave us, so He may find us about His business at His return. Yes, we keep the watch, and I keep it closely. But the most critical watch to keep is that which ensures us to be with Christ as all these prophecies come into fulfillment. If we are in Christ, then we are in victory.

Do not let debates about these things bring divisions amongst you, brothers and sisters. We do not believe in a happening or event, we believe in Him that brings it. We cannot divide the sheep from the goats (Matthew 25,) Christ will. So our hope and trust must stay on Him. In Christ there is Salvation, anything else is a false hope. For, even in the death that this world will see, we shall be raised to everlasting life.

So while all these things may be troubling to witness, our Hope is in Christ and so we should not walk in fear, even when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death. Yes, we see. Yes, we hear. But our hope is stayed on Him. Of the beast, Christ will overcome him, and we with Him. And they overcame the beast by the Blood of the Lamb and the testimony of their mouth and loved not their lives unto death. And the unique qualifier is that we repent, when the world will not. So, do not look at a political practice that favors the broad way, instead pray. But remain to be the peacekeepers, live in peace with your brothers and sisters, even all of mankind. For the Judge is coming, and he will separate the wheat from the tares.

[2] God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. [3] The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
