Note for 2024/07/03 - ‭Colossians 4:1-18 KJV‬ - Reflection in the Love of Christ

‭Colossians 4:1-18 KJV‬

[1] Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven. [2] Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; [3] withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: [4] that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. [5] Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. [6] Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. [7] All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellowservant in the Lord: [8] whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts; [9] with Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known unto you all things which are done here. [10] Aristarchus my fellowprisoner saluteth you, and Marcus, sister's son to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he come unto you, receive him;) [11] and Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me. [12] Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. [13] For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis. [14] Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you. [15] Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house. [16] And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea. [17] And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it. [18] The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen. Written from Rome to the Colossians by Tychicus and Onesimus.

Note for 2024/07/03

How do we read the Bible? Is it to gain knowledge and wisdom, direction and instruction, or correction? What about what it says, that might be taken as an occasion to blame another, where they may have transgressed against you? Have we not read too, that we should forgive as we have been forgiven; that we should love our neighbor as ourselves?

Look, mankind is more prone to failure than righteousness. In the basic fight of survival of the flesh, harsh defenses may be employed. Without Christ, they have no assurance of rescue; so man acts in desperation, relying on their own wit, unknowingly, giving occasion through emotion for every foul spirit to have its way by their flesh. Even more dangerous are those that do this knowingly, employing these evil spirits for a false sense of power and advantage against the defenseless. What is anger? What is rage? What is hate?

There was a time that I was riddled with emotion and some might have said of me, that I had a volatile nature. You know, that people had to walk on eggshells around me. I was angry from the inside, dissatisfied with the hand that I have been dealt. And since I was oppressed and attacked since I was a child, I thought myself robbed of much. But, now I have learned that it is just the mindset of entitlement. It was an excuse to act in ways that were unacceptable in the sight of GOD and mankind. The lie, my friends, was that I deserve better. What was intended for evil, has now become a powerful testimony; for I was broken and abused, but in Christ Jesus, I have been brought to peace. Yes, it was no medication, but finding who I have become and repenting of it. Not only did it heal me, but empowered me, for now I know what breaks a man's mind. I have come to know the error of my own thinking and the damage a volatile state of emotion can bring to someone who feels alone, without purpose or success. It turned out that I was walking after false ideas and values, seeking favor in the world, which is as obsessed with itself, as I once was. For me, today, loving our neighbor as ourselves are not just words on paper anymore, but the road to walk away from selfishness. What's more, I have found that many feel like I did, though their life account may be different. Let's call it, for a lack of words, the lie of the victim syndrome. Name it, what you may have been through, most you will find in my life. Even from the age that most would consider me innocent. I know, we do not struggle against flesh and blood, for my life bears witness of it. Let's just say, that most that suffer even a portion of what I have been through, do not escape it. And yet, in Christ, here I am, victorious. In Christ alone, and believe me, I tried everything.

Today, I am thankful to the Lord, for all that I have been through. I say again, name it, it is more likely that I know it from personal experience, than not. But, this is not about my pedigree, nor my experiences; no! It is about Him Who saved me, even from myself. Who can clearly see the separation between the old man and the new, which Christ established in me? Born of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Without Jesus Christ, I would have been dead, maybe even by my own hand. It is the Word of GOD that led me out of my misery. It is all about GOD, and not so much of me. I cannot claim the glory of victory, because I know that I was saved. I know how helpless I was in myself. Was, no longer am; for in Christ, I am no longer alone. In fact I learned that I was never alone, that GOD carried me through all.

That my friends, is oil in my lamp. A knowledge that cannot be robbed. The evidence is in me, with me, all the time. So have, then, oil for your lamp, but know this... It does require repentance of the rebellion against the will of GOD. It does require to bend the knee in servitude. Yes, it does require giving up the crown of your kingdom, to GOD, so you may be received into His Kingdom. His will not mine, for GOD is love. He is Spirit. What do you know... The Bible is true.

Here is what most probably do not want to hear, the Truth only started working in me in might, on my second and third time reading all the way through the entire Word of GOD. Maybe, it was just because I was so hardheaded. And here, I still learn daily.

I know, today was a bit of a change in pace, suffer me that please. For each of us has a testimony of Jesus Christ entwined in our lives. What was intended for evil, God used for good in me; and it is my hope that it will encourage you. Don't lose Hope, stay strong in Christ. Irrespective of your circumstances, He has your Salvation mapped out. Remember, in the end, this is about saving your soul, the flesh will take the route of the flesh. Destiny is about the soul.

Shalom

YouVersion Bible Verse of the Day (Expanded)

‭Luke 9:23-27 KJV‬

[23] And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. [24] For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. [25] For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? [26] For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels. [27] But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
