Note for 2024/06/14 - Romans 10:1-21 KJV - White Robes
Romans 10:1-21 KJV
[1] Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. [2] For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. [3] For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. [4] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. [5] For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. [6] But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) [7] or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) [8] But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; [9] that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [11] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. [12] For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. [13] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. [14] How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? [15] And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! [16] But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? [17] So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. [18] But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, Their sound went into all the earth, And their words unto the ends of the world. [19] But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, And by a foolish nation I will anger you. [20] But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. [21] But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

It is wonderful how the Word of GOD puts things of our daily lives in perspective. Now, I admit, that is indeed, if I can move past my own opinion, and permit GOD'S Word to speak to me in the situation. What brings heartache, without an overinflated concept of the self in a matter? Holding on to rights we claim for ourselves, but refuse it for others. The Word of GOD can lead us, if we lay the self down, if we bow to the better way that GOD presents to us, loving our neighbors as ourself. Doing unto others, as we would have them do unto us; and yet, being ready to forgive transgressions in the Name of Jesus Christ, by Whom we ourselves were forgiven too. That is the Word of GOD at work, in us.
What is forgiveness, if not spoken out and confessed by the tongue? And how is confession made if it is spoken out in secret? And yet, our shame is covered by the Blood of Christ, where we were found naked, He dressed us in His forgiveness and His Righteousness. Are we then dressed by lies and deception, a mask of sort, or do we receive the forgiveness in Christ, with the Blood of Christ at the door post of our heart for the passover by the Angel of Death? Indeed, we pass through the valley of the shadow of death, in a world ruled by evil principalities and wicked forces in high places. And still, are we marked for grace and mercy, by what Christ Jesus has done for us. The debt of sin, forgiven and paid in full by Him. Can we then walk in gratitude, by loving those that He loved so much that He hung upon that Cross for them? As He also did for me. Are we then not all saved by Grace and Mercy alone?
When Paul speaks about those under the Law that are living to establish their own righteousness, refusing thus the righteousness of GOD; it made me think deeply. Who can say that he is perfect, not I? Then why do we expect perfection from others, did the Lord not find us in imperfection, even as sinners. And yet, did He do all for us while we were in a sinful state. Indeed, the Love of GOD, in Jesus Christ, covers a multitude of sin. So, we believe with our heart and so we must confess with our mouth and bear witness that it is Christ that saved us by His Righteousness. We were found naked, and dressed by His righteousness to cover the shamefulness of it. So why then would we expose another, when we find them naked and ashamed? Should they not be dressed in the same righteousness that we were dressed with? So who then is left to cast a stone at the sinner? What is unforgiveness then, but to leave another naked, and to expose such nakedness, by accusation? And is such an act then not done against one that Christ has died for too? What then of the parable of the good Samaritan, will we not bring such a person in and invite him to dress himself in a garment such as we have? I say invite, for we cannot do it by force, for man was left the option to choose by GOD. He that chooses to remain naked, must then go forth in nakedness for the shame of it, is then on him by his own choice. Then, we are left with nothing more to do, than to shake the dust from our feet, with a hope that another may convince him to get dressed and cover his shame.
Friends, if by some means you found yourself in shame today, know that Jesus Christ has a garment for you too. And more, even a robe of the royal priesthood. Not only will He cover your shame, but invite you to the Royal Family of GOD, to be called sons of GOD. For, if you were lost, now you are found and welcomed by Our Father in Heaven, because of His Son. That which kept you in separation from GOD, then forgiven, the best robe fitted on your shoulders and a feast prepared to welcome you back to the House of GOD. You were not forgotten, and there is no more need for you to be alone; you were just lost, but could be found.
Let us then dress your wounds from the harm that may have found you while you were lost. Let us then forgive by whom such harm came to you, for they are still lost. Let us pray that they may find their way home too. And then, we will feast again and be glad for their return too.
Friends, the Word of GOD is a living Word. So, I must stress again the importance of reading it. In the promise of the Holy Spirit, Christ said that the Spirit will remind us of His words, how then reminded, if it was not read first? In the full Armor of GOD as we find it in Ephesians 6, is the Word of GOD then not our Sword? Equip yourself by the Word of GOD. Then, you will not just be dressed, but also protected by the Armor of GOD.
As always, the choice is yours, but all the promises of GOD in the Word of GOD are available to those that believe in Him. That places their Trust in Him. How then will you stand in those promises, if you don't know them? Read the Word of GOD for yourself, let the Teacher sent by God to us, be your Guide in all. But, know this too, the Holy Spirit is promised to those who obey GOD.
How do you walk a thousand miles? The same as you would walk one, by one step at a time. But, if you do not walk, you remain where you are.
Shalom
