Note for 2024/06/10 - ‭Romans 6:1-23 KJV‬ - The Way

‭Romans 6:1-23 KJV‬

[1] What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? [2] God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? [3] Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? [4] Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. [5] For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: [6] knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. [7] For he that is dead is freed from sin. [8] Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: [9] knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. [10] For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. [11] Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. [12] Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. [13] Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. [14] For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. [15] What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. [16] Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? [17] But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. [18] Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. [19] I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. [20] For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. [21] What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. [22] But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. [23] For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Note for 2024/06/10

By their fruit shall you know them. What do we have in common with this fallen world? Now we know partially, but when perfection has come, then we will know in full. We purge the desire for sin, we are ashamed of sin unto repentance. The Word of GOD is the measure, by which we conform ourselves to the Will of GOD. In this effort, we stand not alone, but by the Holy Spirit are we guided unto righteousness in all things.

It is a choice you know, to choose to live in righteousness. As we grow in the Spirit, we overcome unrighteousness in us, by the strength in Christ. So we walk this  path of correction and deliverance on the journey of sanctification unto holiness. Our beacon, the Light of our lives, being Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. He leads and we follow, in the Word of GOD and the Holy Spirit as our Guide.

Do not become complacent, permit no wickedness in you. Hate evil in you, purge it out, refuse it. Resist the devil and he shall flee from you. Resist, do not go into agreement with unrighteousness.

I have heard those that say, once saved always saved. Friends, be careful, for this Word says that no liar will enter into the City of GOD. The Lord is the Author and the Finisher of our Faith, that is true; but do not stand in rebellion to God. Can you say you believe in Christ Jesus, but deny His Words? Shall I say like Paul, God forbid, No! What do you think is the purpose of fasting, but to submit the flesh to the rule of the Holy Spirit? For our Soul is set apart from this world unto Our Father in Heaven and our Lord of Salvation, Jesus Christ, His only Begotten Son.

Friends, take this chapter of Romans with you each day, as a reminder of the direction you walk in. For if you forget where you are going, you will get lost. We serve the Lord Jesus Christ, right? Is servitude without effort? If asked to walk a mile, can you perform it without moving your feet? If called to feed the sheep, have you nothing to take with you? And how would you have, if you do not gather in, pick it up and carry it with you? So too, is it with the Word of GOD. We do not have, when we do not ask. Who do we ask, and what is the motive of our hearts? Jesus said, "what you have done for the least of these, you have done unto me." Is that without labor? Is it without service? Is it without sacrifice? Is it without love?

Don't you know that you are being prepared? Prepared, "for what," you may ask? You are being prepared by the Spirit for the things that Christ spoke of. Yes, those who are just babies in the Faith shall be carried, but if all are then babies, who will carry them? No, friends, we must become post ready. We must come on post to stand ready to act in servitude to The Lord. And the duties are all in service of Salvation by The Lord. Even these words are not without Spirit. In you, the truth rings like a wake up call. It is time to work, while it is still day, for night comes when no man can work.

Walk then, out into this day with righteousness as the goal. Wash your words and deeds by the Word of GOD. Be helpful to those who still struggle to walk in the way. Be patient and long-suffering, act in compassion and care. Show the charity of love, help those in need, as the Spirit of GOD guides you within. Remember, you were lost once too, a slave to sin and the ways of this world. So, show mercy where mercy is due, and remember the doctor is not sent to the healthy, but to those who are unwell.

How is it with your soul?

Shalom.

Verse of the Day

The verse of the day is brought to you each day from the YouVersion Bible App, which is distributed to all users of the app. It is further distributed to others by Social Media users by the YouVersion users. I make it a point to read the verse of the day after I have written the Note for the day.

Today we have some expansions to the verse of the day, that will be quite revealing.

‭Matthew 7:24 KJV‬

[24]  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Then, expanded a little…

‭Matthew 7:24-27 KJV‬

[24]  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. [26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [27] and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

And, what did Christ say just before that…

‭Matthew 7:15-23 KJV‬

[15]  Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? [17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. [18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. [19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. [20] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. [21]  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Then, finally in a showcase of the Living Word, let’s look at just two more verses before that…

‭Matthew 7:13-14 KJV‬

[13]  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I truly hope this means as much to you, as it did for me. Now I am strengthened for this day.
